I am storing my Bitcoins at an online wallet and that is because you know that it is quite safe to use it and the most people with already Bitcoin are also using it so that is really nice.
But of course you can be hacked or something but the chance will be really small.

Even i store my bitcoin on online wallet,i think its more simple, but i dont know how about the security aspect,i just store little amount of bitcoin,so far is really safe, but i will considering to use cold storage if i have big amount of bitcoin.
You can simply use blockchain even if you store big amount of bitcoins and then you can make a setting system that whenever you login they will call you and give you a PIN and hence no hacker can hack it.

But the only problem that arrives in such cases is that when you want to make quick transactions you will get frustrated.

Hello everyone as the title says ^
Do you store your bitcoins online or on a wallet on your computer, perhaps cold storage?

I store my bitcoin on the online wallet because qt takes up so much space xP . I keep a small amount of bitcoins in cold storage and use paper wallet.
If I had lots of bitcoins I would use qt.

I always keep my coins in my online wallet. But I have 3 wallet accounts and there is a account that I always use to buy or sell coins. that's means I keep my coins  in different wallet. I mainly use my Android device. I think people should use best antivirus so that his  wallet information not get hacked.

We can trust Trump in this regard, he says

Donald Trump Says 'No Computer Is Safe', Wants Couriers To Replace Emails.

He is actually right and thus I have always kept my bitcoins (other than the bitcoins which I use to transact or trade) in offline wallet.

I believe that things like ghosts and online privacy are superstitions.

Offline wallets are probably better because there is no chance of losing your bitcoins unless your computer gets hacked by some keylogger or something like that which is too likely to happen if you don't download anything from anywhere like a kid do when he sits on a computer.

I divide my coins into different wallets but the most secured one is with the huge amount which they called "main Wallet" as far as I know . And it is in my desktop . The more offline your wallet does the safer it is so a cold storage is the safest so far .

I use an android wallet mycelium and an online wallet called coins.ph, I used it when exchanging my coins to my currency .

And the last thing you can do to make sure your coins is safe is maintaining the said devices like be careful on what you install or download , always enable your anti virus

I would prefer the offline one. There is no need to hassle thinking about hacks or different worms that could end up getting your accounts. The online thing have many holes in it. People are getting more knowledge about hacking just by youtube videos and it is getting riskier day by day.

Loo, hacking would be possible in online wallet but not via site directly when you go for google search for the wallet site means only hacking is possible. Try to desktop wallet i think that could be best option.

It is better to do it offline. I have several USB disks.

For me the only safe place for the bitcoins is your own computer, maybe on an encrypted disk drive, and keep it offline as much as possible. Online wallet is not safe, there are so many examples that online wallet get hacked.

I second the motion.  Grin Although there is risk it is very low percentage that you might get hack. You can make a computer that wont need to get online and just be sure that flash drive which will take it to that computer are also clean. The easiest and the safest way for now.

You must take security precautions! Hold your coins in multiple wallets its is best solution.
 Blockchain,Multibit..
Also one good amount will be good to be stored in cold wallet!
Always use good strong password and change it periodically!

I have divide my bitcoin into several online wallet, also on my phone but you're right about change the password periodically.
Never thought about it before, as I set random and long characters password. I always consider that, it is safe that way due to I don't have many bitcoin, so if it growing I will constantly change the password like every week or every 3 days. Thanks for advice.
I don't believe to storing bitcoin in exchanges as they are the first target if hackers in order to get big fish such as happened before.

I'm still wondering how I'm going to save my bitcoins . I want to buy a cold storage a Trezor, or mycelium or something. I like to have that but I still don't have money to buy it. It's expensive but I want to have it because I think it's safe.
For now you can use online free wallets temporarily  in saving the funds you will use in order to buy cold storage from trezor.
If you only have lesser bitcoin in your wallet no one will want/try to hack your wallet.

I think online wallet is safe too, like coinbase, blockchain, xapo and extension. They have good quality of security and always upgraded by their development.
As long as you control your own private keys,  you are safe!  be advised only use online wallet to store small amount of coins.
i do not trust coinbase/xapo with large amount of coins, hardware wallet is what i trust to store large amount of coins.
My advice does not store your coins in any online wallet long time, better do any business with that coins or sell it and convert it into fiat currency. This is the best way to save your bitcoins. Becasue all type of wallets is not 100% safe, so why should you take risk right. I will use xapo and blockchain to store my coins compare to other wallets these two are better and safe.

The risk of hacking is found everywhere, but with the improved and increased features for securing bitcoin we can say strongly that 99% of online wallets are risk free to hold our hard earned bitcoins. Often converting to fiat and securing fiat into banks were good but it doesn't get the desired profit.

Right now I have a lot of my Bitcoin simply stored in online wallets, since it's simple for me to use them and not have to worry about how I'm keeping them safe on my own PC at home.

While I should get a desktop wallet sometime soon, I haven't had a need to yet and the convenience of an online wallet is currently outweighing a lot of the benefits, especially considering the value right now.

I will be getting a hardware wallet in the near future because bitcoins are worth more than $1000 a coin now so they are more valuable than ever! Grin
Maybe the ledger nano or even the trezor if they ever come down in price. Wink

Hardware wallets are not a necessity. If you just create a paper wallet containing the private keys it will be more than secure enough assuming you take the right precautions. Same basically goes up for storing your digital wallet files in USB sticks. These methods are free since everyone has a printer and USB sticks at home. I am sure you just want to try out a hardware wallet for the fun, otherwise you would have bought it already (regardless of the BTC price).
Storing your wallet file on a USB stick is different than a hardware wallet. You can still use hardware wallets on infected pc's -which isn't possible with a USB stick- because the private keys never leave the hardware wallet. But if you're careful they can indeed be as safe but much cheaper Smiley
Honestly it is not safe to use usb stick to save our private keys or wallet.. because there is possbility that usd stick can be destroyed or damaged if you do not use it.. just like my 7 usb stick out of 9 usb stick the 2 still alive but the 7 cant be use and not detected on pc or laptop..
It means those usb stick is not safe..
