What are your thoughts on the concept and initiative behind this idea.? Is it worth investing time and resources in?
I came across a restaurant doing this to promote their product It's a challenge where you need to eat their spiciest serving within their set time frame they are giving $200 and only a few made it because they are serving the hottest and spiciest chili, it's a good promotion because many people will take if they cannot make it there's a $25 consolation which is not bad at all
I have also seen some restaurants doing promotions where they display a huge meal and challenge customers to eat it all. If they achieve doing this, they don't have to pay for the meal. It works like a marketing propaganda for the restaurant, and a profitable one, since most people will never be able to accomplish such task. Only few people are able doing this, and these are the people who should be considered the athletes to compete inside a food competition league. It would be nice to select the most efficient global eaters from each country and put them to compete against each other for a worldwide title.

Well, I really like this type of thing, if it's a competition that has to do with eating and not with putting animals to fight, because I think it's something great, this is like the slap contests, which I also find interesting and I don't know Why they don't consider it as a sport, where they have considerations like boxing, even with weight and everything, because they can't put someone who weighs 60Kg with someone who weighs about 100Kg, then when it comes to food competitions... It's Going very Well, now with respect to the type of aliens they should do it by Categories , that is , those who Compete to eat more Food , those who compete to eat more salads or things like that, those who eat more Hot Dogs, or those who eat More burgers , Everything can be done under a regime where they can have the freedom to choose diners who are quite large or Small depending on their Tastes.

Of course I think I'm Exaggerating in Saying that there can be categories too, but I think it should be fair, in this case not by weight, but if it can be put with the categories of foods, because as we have seen or we in our daily life We see that there are many people who always look for desserts and Desserts are also many foods that people look for , Although the sugar level can be dangerous, in this type of competition there must be doctors available for any emergency, it is done I am very aware that some when they eat a lot of meat can be risky for cardiovascular Damage, heart attacks can occur, so in this order of ideas things can be quite obvious, we would like to expand on talking about the different groups, even for those who are It is more common to eat Fruits , I have never seen anyone make a contest of who eats the strongest fruits or a group of fruits, which by the way, eating pure fruits is quite Filling and is Something very practical and Healthy.

When it's going from food contest to liquor drinking contest then everything here becomes detestable, food contest is acceptable and government themselves can support it, but that of hosting a liquor drinking contest is not a low level classic gambling one could bet on except for the thicker skinned  Grin one can get drunk and loose memory or run mad, i also don't consider liquor in this case as food because it requires food itself, it's somewhat a weird gambling that could be life threatening as well and should be discouraged.
That means it depends on the government because they will decide to give permission or ban the contest. But if the government can think that it is food that we might eat every day or that many people still have difficulty getting food, it might hurt them. And instead of holding a food contest like that, it's better for them to raise money so they can give it to people who need it. Many people still have difficulty eating every day and if there are still food contests, they may protest against their government. The government must carefully consider this and there should be no problems whatsoever. But it's best if this food contest doesn't need to be held.

True. And these types of contests are happening anywhere for fun where there are no doctors or ambulances in case something happens. Probably the worst I heard about activities like this are liquor drinking contests. And I already read in the news someone was dead after joining a liquor-drinking contest. The guy probably won after consuming too much alcohol but the expenses and the family left behind especially the children will suffer. Most participants of these types of tournaments which is common for fun in communities are not financially well-to-do people.
I know some variation of this type of betting would already have been taking place in some communities and localities so I am not surprised that you mentioned the liquor drinking contest. Unfortunately because this type of contest is unregulated there is bound to be reported cases and unreported cases of causalities even after the competition has ended. I therefore do not recommend any one participating or betting in these contests.

I wonder why the participants are really want to win in this contest when they can drink for free Grin so it's better they enter and drink with self control, not looking to win the contest.

Most of food betting always related with food that shouldn't be consume to much e.g. spicy, alcohol, soda, sweet etc.

I guess the event organizer want to see someone die from their event. Tongue
Even though there are lots of people who are still hungry out there, seeing this event is like throwing food away, but it seems like if hungry people take part in this event freely, I think they will win this competition because not only people like to eat, but hungry people. maybe you can win this match too, it also seems true that the food provided definitely contains something spicy or something that will hurt if you eat too much.

I'm just worried that this could also kill people slowly, especially since sometimes there are events like this in an area where the organizer is not responsible for paying for hospital costs if a participant experiences stomach pain and this is borne by the participants themselves, but if a special doctor is provided to monitor This event would be better, but it is not suitable for use as a sport because it is very contrary to health and disease, let alone being used as a bet.  Grin

This reminds me of the Chinese hot spicy food competition that I used to watch, it's been years since I've watched it last, it's all about how bossy you are at eating hot chilies, and there are few accidents where you can collapse and move to the hospital, it's a harmful game but fun to watch.

Within a few seconds, you will start sweating heavily and your eyeballs will turn red, You will be given the option to quit if you can't handle it, but you will lose money, To win, the opponent must quit or give up before you.

Such games are not safe but it's fun to watch, food is good for the body but it can turn into poison if you consume them wrongfully, I don't think it's a healthy game, just my own perspective.
Well you have a good point. Food betting or food eating competition might be exciting and interesting for the audience. But how about for those participants who might be at risk for choking or maybe poisoning wherein their body will react to the various foods that they have been eating. I can see it’s really fun but for me, this is not a healthy one. The bettors might be rejoicing once they win but for sure the participants will have an after effect on their body right after the food eating competition.

Can we classify this betting on food eaters on who eats more or less within a time frame, as a sport?

I don't support this and this is not worth supporting, Food is considered sacred and should not be something that we bet on, this is so popular on social media and is considered a trend, We know people continue to do trending topics and interest and this food betting will just pass away, and it's risky for participants it promote obesity and unhealthy practice to foods.

Not everything that is trending on the internet is worth considering to be a sport because not people are going to support this, especially the nutritionist and the health conscious people.

Even you eat a healthy food, it's not good if you eat it too fast without chewing or consume too much.

So every food betting isn't good because it can hurt your stomach because it will make your stomach work more harder to crush everything you eat before.

Remember healthy is more valuable than money, don't take an unnecessary risk against your body to earn a small amount money that you can get it through working.

I know creativity has led to many breakthrough innovations we see today. Within the gambling world, we have seen many types; From bizarre kind of bet, to outrageous and well- horseracing bet, football/soccer bet, boxingbout/tournament bet, tennis match/tournament bet, basketball betting. Has anyone given a thought to foodbetting?

Honestly this may actually be the first time i may be hearing about food betting because it's not what is common, though there have been series of food competition i have witnessed from the past but talking about food betting, this is something new and may also drag more attention for people to give a try on how to gamble and bet with food considering that people are even hungry already, many would love to give a try.

is it like competitive eating? I think if it is a competetion with real people eating and not an AI genereated, it is important to consider the health and safety implications of competitive eating, as consuming excessive quantities of food in a short period can be detrimental to one's health. Any organized league or competition should have strict guidelines, oversight, and medical supervision to ensure participants' well-being.

What other funny and real betting exist like this you know of?

Would you try it out if you had the chance and resources to?

This reminds me of the hot dog eating contest, but most sportsbooks rarely cover these contests. I wouldn't try betting on these events if they somehow become available on crypto sportsbooks because it's almost a coin flip and there are better events that give you better chances of winning.

As a bettor, it's not worth focusing on these events unless you don't mind burning your bankroll for the experience because it can be unpredictable, and using previous information might not be as helpful.

Competitive eating could become a sport, but i'm not that familiar with most of the competitive eating events, so I would also say no.

It all matters with the demand and interest in the end of the day.
If that is what it is, I will not change my opinion a bit. I am against it and will stay that way. I guess people don't always think straight when it comes to money. Whenever they get an opportunity even if it is ethical or not, they will take it. And I already know that every coin has 2 sides. So no matter what I say, there will always be a group of people that oppose my opinion. So it's not a surprise there. But to me, I will stick to my ethics.

Food is a thing that you need no matter what in order to survive. To waste it like that for entertainment purpose is never a good thing. That's all I would say.

I don't like the idea of messing with food. And to make it a sport and gamble on it? Hell nah man. I have faced some dark situations where I starved for 2-3 days without food. So people eating or wasting food for fun is a really bad thing to me. Try to respect food.

Have you ever thought about people who are unable to eat for several days and searching for food just to eat one time a day, even if it does to fill their belly? People are dying because they can't eat. They starve to death. So my suggestion is, to drop this stupid idea and if you are into gambling, then gamble on other sports that are widely available. And if you could, feed some poor who are in need of food with your gambling profits.

I hate the idea so much that I don't want to talk about it. But just to give you some advice, I am writing here.
We do have different perceptions on different things on which it would really be just that so normal that humanity would really be finding on things on which they could potentially be able to apply gambling into it even into the most common thing that we do have in day to day living which as long that bet or gambling could really be applied to it then they would really be definitely be doing it no matter what and this is something a very common
and come to think that even with the most sensual or private thing such as sex had really been made out to by a sport but luckily it was declined due to lots of criticisms and oppositions. In speaking about food related sport then there would be also criticisms too just like on what you had mentioned that food isnt something that good to mess with and making it as a sport. I do agree into this point but it would really be entirely be depending whether this one would be pushed through or not basing up with the demand and recognition whether there are lots of people who are really that interested or into those people who dont really like the idea.
It all matters with the demand and interest in the end of the day.

Ofcourse, this sounds very awkward - atleast not to me alone buh to everyone else.... This kinda sport or whatever you'll call it cannot be sellable as it can easily be manipulated/predicted.... Imagine you having a game and anyone knows that if it's not the first person, it'll definitely be the second person devouring that huge steak or whatever they're eating... Then why would anyone bother to place a single ticket?? Everyone would definitely place 2 tickets...secondly, you cannot introduce any other interesting options to the game....the will certainly be no draw options and limited options would only make the whole thing boring.

Betting on food is actually quite interesting. I've never seen anything like it before. It can get crazy but it's all for amusement and fun.

In my country we have similar challenges involving famous people on Instagram, like competing in streets. For example, I've seen challenges where two people compete to finish a pizza first to win $100. However, I've never seen anything like betting on people eating here but it would certainly be intriguing and fun to watch.

If they were to make an online food betting, I would like to give it a try with my friends for fun. Who knows, I might even win my first bet on people eating food:D
