There is no definite time as to how long one should hold on to its coin. When you are trading, the amount of time in holding your coin depends on the market value. Before you trade, you must have enough knowledge about it. And when you trade, you must observe the changes on the value of a certain coin before you sell it. When you see that you can gain enough profit or the increase in value is good, then sell it. Don't wait too long since there is a possibility its value will suddenly dive down and instead of gaining some profit, you might lose it.
I hold it for long long term because bitcoin value is continuously increasing. Moreover I just do it because I want to save it for my future. In additional I believe and I trust to the ability and potential of bitcoin.

Depend on my strategy of trading long term or short term trading, for short term trading usually i traded minutes daily and weekly
and for long term trading usually mostly and years. I know the time to stop lost or open sell positions if the indicators gives signal to sell the coins, so basically before you doing trading altcoins, you must understand about analisys technical to make prediction of price and to read the trend of price on the markets.

Depends on the coin. We have some coins that we pre mined in the first days of their announcements and some of those are a year old or more. The wallets take up nearly no space and we run through a spreadsheet we have of them and cross reference versus the markets every other day. I think that a year is about max for that, but it depends on the action on the forums, the exchanges and others things.
Regarding what you said about coins you premined. Are there websites that are giving or announcing currency that is about to launch?

Hello, tokenmarket and icotracker web sites are one of those web sites showing an ico calendar to you.

I'll hold my coins for 10 years if they don't die. I know it's a long time, but if I can achieve this, I can make huge profit at the end.
Thank you for sharing this. So that I'll be updated on the coins to be ICO so I can buy a lower price.

The way a trader holds varies from coin to coin, and it may also vary from trader to trader. Because not all traders have same mindsets and same goals or strategies in getting the most out of their trading. But for starters or beginners like you, you should always keep in mind the amount you invested. And sell immediately if you see good profit. Do not be greedy. And if you get the hang of it already, then you can make strategies of your own.

It depends on you if in case you want to gain more profit from a certain investment that you put then you are going to monitor firs flow of your currency.
You should sell if you think that you can gain profit from what you are expecting.
For example, you invested 1000 usd buy buying certain coins and your target for selling is 2000 usd then you need to monitor the prices and sell it once it reach already to your target profit.

should monitor the movement of coin prices at any time, the graph of a coin price is not stable.
understand problem trading, to know where it's time we buy and sell or hold it.
to avoid losses when we are trading..

There are two ways. Some have already a term before they buy a certain coin. They may set it at 6 months according to the roadmap, or a coming update, or a big announcement. Some are setting it indefinitely until the value goes really high. That is applicable to ETH or BTC. Some are also set for 3 months or 1 to 3 years.

I didn't never try trading, for now i dont know how to trade, but im willing to understand it. I think if i trade i will keep holding the coin as long as the price does not rise. but when the price is higher then I will sell it.

it depands how you treat with the coins, if you like this coin and get it at a low cost, i think you may hold it for a long term, but if you just want to day trade, then you better sell it at your expected profit

Depending on the coin and if I really believe in it. But in most of the cases I will never hold if it goes lower than its previous recorded lowest price. After this point you don't know where the support is, so maybe it is better to take the loss and move on.
Yes depending on the coin because there are different projects of every coins that makes it more valuable and demanded in the market and it is good to make a research first in the coin so that you are trusted to make it long-term.

My strategy is long term - minimum 1 year.
I am trying to follow this rule of investment:
"Do not invest amount which you are afraid to loose".

Nice, strategy. I usually hold my coins until I see a profit in it. So when I hold coins it doesn’t really matter how many days or years go by, it only depends on the numbers being over my deposited amount.
Bitcoin is one of the coins that I’ve been holding for years and didn’t really worry on the price because it could be worth something more than just fiat. The longest that I’ve held an Altcoin was around 2 or 3 years and I eventually forgot about it for some time. I have coins that are older than that though I don’t really want to sell them.

I try to pick coins that I think will have a long shelf life. I don't want to pick up a shit coin / or even a good coin to try to flip it for a quick buck. For me I will hold a coin at least 1 year.
