If you are day trading etc. there is no rule as to how long you
are willing to hold coins. It all depends on your buy price and how
quickly the price of that coin raises to your sell limit.
Coins have been bought at a high price before they dropped
massively in value so you may end up holding coins for months
while you wait for the price to rise, so you really have to
know when to buy!!

Hi guys! if you trade, how long do you hold your coins?. How would you know if you have to let go or sell you coins or still have to keep it?.
It's up to the potential of the coin . If it has a big potential , I will hold it for long term , like several years. Otherwise I sell it for quick money as soon as it give me a 2X or more profit.
First, research then buy coins you believe will make money (good developers, good project, have application, etc.). You then don't have to worry when to dump rather just wait for it to grow.
In between, you take advantage of the crests and dips (high and low) and TRADE a PORTION (I do about 25%) during those times. You just sell high then buy again low. Keeping & growing the money for that coin which in effect increases your coin count if done right.
I usually trade when it rises x% and re-buy when it dips y%.
If things change (or learn something new) making the coin less ideal, then sell and re-invest to a new coin. This happens a lot to me and the coins in my holding changed many times. It is a continuous process.

It depends on the evolution of the coin, but if I buy some just with the intention of selling it higher... I will hold about a month and a half or so.
If the coin is clearly going down at the speed of light I will sell sooner and try to rebuy lower.

Don't be greedy when you are trading . If the profit is enough , then sell it . Don't wait for bigger profit , or you will loose your profit.That's my rule for invest.
