I don’t understand why many people believe that professionalism is the end result. But this is not a result that can be achieved; it's a path that can be followed and it's endless.

How long it takes is measured  by how determined you are to actually become a pro and also how ready are you to go the extra miles to be one. So to me been a pro is actually a state of the mind and what you are looking forward to achieve

It is difficult to answer your question, so it’s not exactly clear what exactly you want to be professional in: trading, mining, creating blockchain platforms or applications. If you want to become a professional in the entire crypto sphere, then here and 10 years will not be enough, because everything is constantly changing, improving and creating a new one. If you take a specific direction, for example in trading, then it is enough 1 - 2 years of theory and practice and you will be a pro. It also plays the role of the person himself, one is enough for 1 year and he will know everything, and explain to another at least 20 years and he will not remember anything.

Learning trading is something like learning new language or programming. If you can learn basics then it would take only few weeks. But to be a expert and make trading your job, then it would require years.

Depending on how much crypto specialties you would want to cover, I'd say 2-5 years.
First, you need to get the general concept of blockchain technology. edx has a wonderful short-course on this. that course is free to take and would enlighten you on how blockchain works. trust me, you would want to truly understand this if you want to be a crypto consultant, regardless of which specialty you choose. this should take roughly two months

Some specialties you might decide to look into include

crypto marketing: to become a crypto marketer, you need to be a good copywriter. I'd recommend makepeace course on copywriting. then you need to learn about facebook ads, seo, bicointalk advertising, and email marketing udacity course or HubSpot free courses are a great start.

Crypto-economist: the success of any cryptoproject depends on their crypto-economics. deciding to become a crypto economist keeps on on the verge of being a hot cake. to become a crypto-economist, you can start by taking general economics classes for free online.

I think that real professionals learn all their lives and constantly improve their knowledge and skills. Do not set a goal for three years to become a professional. Just enjoy working on your favorite thing and you will succeed.

The more experience you get the more expert you become. So it is just the matter of acquiring experiences to get expertise in any field. But the problem is that it gets time to get experiences. To a conclusion, you will become pro cryptocurrency, when you get more experiences and spend time in cryptocurrency.

Wrong. The more experience you get, the more data and knowledge you have at your disposal, to know what to expect and what repercussions and consequences would be as a result of actions. Does it mean you will learn your lesson and do what is most likely to get a good results? No. People are still driven by greed and emotion to do things AGAINST the logic they know.

I think you can even become a professional in the cryptocurrency sphere and in one year, everything just depends on how much time you will spend on the cryptocurrency sphere, if you will study cryptocurrency every day, I think everything is possible.

I think there's always more to learn about the space.. I'm 3 years in now and still feel like a newbie sometimes.  Embarrassed

That being said, I believe it's possible to become an expert in specific areas of the crypto-space - for example setting up masternodes, or safely transferring funds to/from cold/hot wallets, etc, etc, etc..

You being a pro especially in crypto doesnt depend on how long you are in but rather how much interest you invest in knowing all about crypto.
Your determination would determine how good you would become.

in crypto it is hard to be a professional all the time, as the trend changes, new methods of working with cryptocurrency appear and therefore you should always be aware of the market and analyze the market, in this case I think you will succeed
nothing is impossible to become a pro. as long as we want to learn to deal with the market. we must be good at analyzing and controlling emotions. that's when we will become pro traders
