In any case, you need to wait for the price increase because now it is useless to sell bitcoin because basically everyone will lose about 40% of the deposit 
Since you have decided to keep BTC for a long time, you can only wait, no one can say the exact date. If I were you, I would be distracted from the market by something useful and partially forget about BTC.
Everything depends on the fact that it is necessary for you now if you need money, then, probably, it is worth selling several altcoin to leave money for life or you can sell them quick if you need money.
How long to wait, it depends on how much you want to earn! You invest and wait for growth. As soon as you see that this growth is enough for your profit, you need to sell!

For us not to hold our bitcoin too long, even though the price has increased a bit we will release it, so we will get bitcoin again by buying a lower price.
It depends on you if you do not need your money yet then hold, try your luck next year if you earn profit then sell it. I still holding my coins, if they reach my goal prices then sell it. You should wait more time than losing your money.
If you are patient enough to wait for the highest price then selling it in the future time. But can not be predicted when the price will rise high.

Till you can get profit, you will not loss your money if you don't sell your coin in lower price. A few years ago bitcoin price is only about $200 but in line of bitcoin adoption the price is now increase, just wait.
I will say it depends on the individual. But personally I would hold it for a period of time and wait until the price goes up, then sell it to gain profits.
If you want get answer for this question - you shuold to analize your investment and projects which your invested in. Are they stay close to Road map? Is they have an active community and social media? What price chart show? Did they have increase of price after ICO? Analize that and after - make decision.

It really depends on you, on what price you want to sell your coins. But if I were you, I think that you should wait as long as you need to get the price restored and you could get profit from sale. Patience would be the answer to this situation, if your loss is deep it is better not to sell it because the price will surely rise again about in a few months and you will have better profit.
As we see we have to wait a long time, no prices can not rise.But I think we should not panic, but we will believe in a bright future,there is potential.
I think it depends on you to determine how long you should wait to sell. Personally, I will hold for sometime before selling it. This will help generate profits for me .
If your loss is deep and too much better don't sell it because it may come back and rise again about in a few months. But if you have another extra money, you can buy more at the bottom, so your previous price could be accumulated with the new one and your loss will be reduced. then wait for bullish trend.
It depends on you on what price do you really want to sell your coins. If you want big profit just Hodl your coins until you meet your target profit. But it takes time no one can predict the market price. You have to make your own research and always monitor the price.

Hodling does not work in bear season. Only people who witnessed the last year spikes in prices in alts and btc are advocates of hodling. I would only hodl solid projects in which i bel and those i would hodl if even they drop 80%, for example byteball. If you intend to hodl, come back when there are signs of trend change from bear to bulls.
I think by next year the price of bitcoin and altcoins will chance to increase, more people will join in the crypto world, in the current market situation will change, but I think this year there is no chance to increase the bitcoin price above $12k but in near future may be we can see the price of bitcoin above $50k, so I strongly believe in crypto and bitcoin and when involved big investors the price will go up sure. Hodl till you reached the goal, game just started only, wait and see
