I have one, but I am not using it, just tried it out. Well, it's a great thing if you don't mind fees. It works great, you can actually spend your bitcoins and pay with bitcoins everywhere. But fees are still very high so for me it doesn't still make any sense using it on a daily basis.

I am sure, that as market matures and competition heats up, the fees will also drop and then these cards will be more user friendly.

You are indirectly cashing out your bitcoins and that is something I heavily advise not to do, you are not actually buying things with bitcoins but exchanging your bitcoins for goods and services, and every time you do, you are also paying pretty hefty conversion charges as well as transaction charges, I don't think these cards could be that great a deal right now. I don't really advise on using it.

Xapo, Bit-X and CCEDK are all similar regarding the cards and how they work.

Most can be used in any country that hasn't limited bitcoin. Those cards behave just like credit cards.

Just be sure to read the fine print: costs are rather high and there are spending limits. Those limits can be removed when you verify identity and when you do that, make sure to declare funds at tax time. That's mainly why the verification is there.

Overall a great card to have in my opinion!

Verify my Bitcoin Address before EVERY transaction
Shame, bitcoin cards can't be used with fiat as well... Keep 2 currencies different but on 1 card so u can choose between fiat and virtual.

This sounds awesome, where can I purchase this officially. But I am afraid, in case of any transactions made through online fails, how will be the pay back methods. It needs complete security and reliability for the consumers and traders, if they fulfill such confidential things, then it is a real good deal.

Bit-X has BTC debit card, Xapo has BTC debit card.. they are easy to reach nowadays.

The memebers of Bit-X sig campaign can also get the Bit-X card without the issuing fee.
However, I'd advise you to look for the costs, on any card you want to check out.
Their are some countries where accepted bitcoin as currencies and assign as legal and allow to use bitcoin ATM.They approve for debit card as it is easy to use and allow bitcoin to purchase in cash at your local currencies as it is anonymous cash Grin

I have friends using bitplastic and xapo, however their use is much less, more flashy. The card is pretty simple but I don't fund much future of them right now but a couple years later. What pisses me odd is that bitplastic still markets their debit cards saying they are the only ones offering bitcoin debit cards but they are so wrong.
Millions of people using Bitcoin debit card as it is completely safe to fund your cryptocurrency account with credit card and make withdrawal to credit card with it!  Grin
As for withdrawal purpose it reduces the risks of the transactions(utility bills, internet shopping etc.) as of funding Bitcoin using Credit card, so verification will be much simplier. Grin

I am using a Bit-x debit card. So far, I have used it only for withdrawing money, and not for any online shopping. It is tricky sometimes. Different banks seems to have different exchange rates, and some of them have additional charges. But my overall experience has been positive. I'll continue to use it for the foreseeable future.

Satoshi is rolling in his grave. #bitcoin
I have a btc debit card, never used it though, because the price are so high!! I have friends who like the concept but I just can't afford it.  Smiley

Well that doesnt seam like a smart choice either, since there is inactivity fee @ bit-x of 0,05 bitcoins, if i'm not mistaken?
Isn't it better for you to atleast make 1-2 transactions to avoid that inactivity fee?

cheers

If the transactions fails and you don't get recredited, you can sue your provider really good. Don't worry about that, but I don't understand the use of such cards right now, in 2015. It might be much more useful in the coming years when the transaction feels won't be as high as it is at the moment, when the bitcoin will hold more adoption and more value.

What will you do with a debit card of a currency which isn't even widely accepted and used yet, man? You need to shut the fuck up and hold on your btc, make initiatives to make the world to adopt bitcoins and then you go and get a debit card. They're fucking useless at the moment. The fees are so high, what's the point of getting a card?
