Not that much. I only stopped playing when I started watching streamers like Roshtein, Train, DeuceAce, etc on Twitch. Before, if I have money I will keep playing regardless of how much time I consume. Times that I want to stop gambling is right after a depleted bankroll.
These days, I'm glad that I can better accept losing, unlike before.
Saw some of their videos as well and realized the same thing, that chasing your losses is not a good idea at all. I stopped gambling when financial problems hit me before and that is the start of my realization. Now, I’m an occasional gambler and can control myself now from the addiction before, there’s always a second chance with gambling, you just need to be more responsible next time and avoid the same mistakes, being greedy is not good at all.

Gambling has become an everyday thing for some people and this act has lead to serious addiction which is not good. When gambling we should understand that we are just playing for fun. Most people i know around always take gambling as a very serious issue and i have this particular friend that always complains to me how he has stopped gambling but from no where you still see him gambling again. Me myself am a sesonal gambler and i only gamble on the sport i know which is soccer, i think exploration of new gambling games you are familiar with also causes this repeated feeling of always quitting gambling. I just want to know if this phrase is common among everyone or its just he catch phrase whenever you experiences a big loss.

I've personally tried, and succeeded at, quitting certain types of gambling - namely horse racing after my first experience with them went down very badly after swapping from football. I've also kept away from poker because while it seems fun at first, you can win when you're super concentrated, it can quickly turn into a grind and the focus is quickly lost after a few days, although it's clear that a small group of people are able to make a decent profit from it. Besides that, I think since it's only placing very small value bets that it would be easy to walk away from betting altogether but I can see how a lot of people might feel trapped if they've poured so much in and they wrongly chase their losses.

It has been integrated into my gambling discipline. Everytime I feel like I have lost enough for the day, A thought at the back of my head will remind me I should take a breather and I listen to that voice because it knows better than I do that I need to take a step back and maybe control myself. The key to becoming a healthy gambler isn't knowing when to stop or when not to, because let's face it sometimes we're just on a streak of losses or of victories and we don't wanna be interrupted, but what sets a good gambler and a gambler that is likely to be addicted later down the line for me is how they respond when they finally get the urge to stop gambling and rest. A good gambler will listen to that, maybe even reflect upon the actions he committed prior to stopping. A bad gambler will not stop even if his life depended on it.

I think the main factor in avoiding gambling is having the intention to get out of gambling addiction and wisely deciding not to continue gambling when the loss reaches the gambling balance limit,
You need to have the intention to get out of gambling if you don't want to be addicted to it. People intend to stop because they see how it's not suiting their lives.

Only a person with gambling addiction would struggle to stop gambling, for those who are not addicted, its very easy to stop if you have want,.
But even if the person isn't addicted, there come the stage that sometimes they'll feel that they should stop because of the feeling that it gives them.

For me, I've never tried to stop gambling, and I've never gambled out of my will as well, I am not addicted to gambling in any way, I have the power to stop and power to continue gambling just any time I feel like, gambling is always fun for me, but I cant help but state that there are times we allow our emotion drive us, and this is how most of us end up making really stupid mistakes that some times, lead to loss of money.

Only a person with gambling addiction would struggle to stop gambling, for those who are not addicted, its very easy to stop if you have want,.
When you arent that addicted then there's no need for you to stop because gambling is never been bad, it just turns out to be bad on the time that you do make out some intentions to it on making money because it
does really create that kind of motive in mind that you should push further on playing for you to make money. You cant really just make things possible on whats up into your mind because thats no how gambling works.
Chances of winning could really be determined with luck which is really that normal and this is why you shouldnt really make yourself desperate.Having a control towards your gambling activity or deal up
is crucial because if you arent really that good with this then you do know on whats next.

As ridiculous as it may sound, I tend to experience this, especially when I suffer losses that I wasn't prepared for. Gambling is intended to be enjoyable, I know, but there may be emotional harm when you lose some games, such as those you were so confident in but lost in the end.

We all know how difficult it is to predict football games to draw, so I had 6 games selected. Of those, 5 ended in draws with no goals scored, and the sixth game was going smoothly until the final minutes (about 87 minutes after a substitution) when this s*lly guy came off the bench and scored a goal. I was outraged because the odds were high, and I was expecting free weekend money only for that player to spoil my tickets and change my mood, but the funniest thing is that I have opened more than 3 bets after that, I find it fun to play when I am bored that's why I keep coming back to play.

But for those that are addicted to gambling it's a very difficult habit to stop, I have seen and heard so many stories of people trying to stop gambling and some of them have successfully stopped while the rest couldn't stop gambling.

There's nothing too difficult that can't be resolved in the world, For the fact that we have people who has stopped gambling even though they were addicted then I see no reason why others can't follow the same footsteps and get their addiction under control. What matters most is the willingness and determination by the gamblers to quit. Some addicts aren't ready yet but been forced by either their family members or the society.

In this type of situation, the exercise won't be successful with them because they aren't doing this with willingness but been forced but you see those who have made up their mind to quit gambling themselves or let go of the addiction, everything will just flow and it'll look very easy to record success with them.

These days, I'm glad that I can better accept losing, unlike before.

This means you are doing bad with yourself by playing unlimited gambling and stopping only when you have lost all your money. In this case, even if you make money, you will just keep on playing to lose in the end. I don't think this is a good strategy unless and until you have a lot of money and losing it does not make any difference to your life.

For many people like me, its a nightmare to lose in gambling and we try our best that our loss is minimum. Also if we win any amount in gambling, the first priority is to stop gambling and save the profits.

It's a nightmare if we can't afford to lose that money, nevertheless I will agree though, I have played with money that I can lose, but at the end of the day, I hate that feeling when you go home from a land base casinos and lost your money.

So majority of us may have thinking of kicking this bad habit. But it's really hard specially if you have the means to play again and again. As for watching streamers? not my type though, I guess I have been in gambling way before this streamers existed.

Two things that are important in gambling is to accept profit or loss. Some gamblers do not want to accept winning or loss, that is why you will see some people that will lose and keep on gambling and lose more until they do not have money again to gamble. But that is not all, so are also some people that win but they are not satisfied until they win more, but instead they may begin to lose the amount of money they won and they may lose more. If you win, best to stop gambling for that day. If you lose, best to stop gambling for that day. Gambling is fun, but we should also think of the winning and the losing aspect.

But the essence, not on the problem of how to stop. because throughout my experience it is very difficult to do. at least, I have processed and gone through various things until I found the answer for myself. Until this moment, I still gamble. whether it's betting on sports, slots, dice, or other types of gambling. however, at least now I'm more mature to react to it. with good understanding, as well as responsibility, we will automatically have self-control. that way, make gambling as fun entertainment without harming other people, especially yourself.
You have tried to avoid gambling addiction even though stopping addiction is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand, but at least you have control over the decisions in each gambling and the first attempt to push can limit the balance used for gambling. many gamblers have a hard time getting out of their addiction. even spending more on assets owned than what they produce.
that is a bad example, and you are an example that has gotten better at managing your interest in gambling. self control will be very important for gamblers. play consciously and not out of control. now everything is very accessible. with money in hand and online tools, everything can be gone in a matter of hours.

At least, someone needs a long process if they want to get out of their addiction. and as you said, many gamblers have a hard time getting out of their addiction. the problem is, some are aware that they have an addiction. in fact, many gamblers are not even aware that they are addicted. there are those who try to quit, there are also many gamblers who cannot resist the strong urge to fulfill their gambling desires. and this can happen to anyone, indiscriminately. like me for example, being one example who has experienced difficult times to get rid of addiction.

But the essence, not on the problem of how to stop. because throughout my experience it is very difficult to do. at least, I have processed and gone through various things until I found the answer for myself. I think once or twice? I mean not a lot that's for sure. It was very very early on my first times gambling where I learned how you could lose a lot and lose very quickly, it was a dark period for me and it was definitely not nice and it ended up hurting me financially, but that was like first month or two. After that I stopped, but then I hate when something beats me, not just in the sense that I lost money, but psychologically, I didn't want to become a person who "had to stop because of addiction", and decided to both gamble and also have it under control at the same time.

Just to show myself that I had the will power to gamble with a limit and not go over it, which I succeeded and never lost much ever again. I also stopped once more for no reason, I had life stuff I had to take care of so couldn't play for months, not because I didn't want to or anything but I just had zero free time to gamble.

usually when a gambler stops gambling when he is completely out of money and valuables, and when he has more money he will go gambling again, it has become commonplace for all gamblers.
but what becomes a problem if the gambler is already a bad gambling addict. I mean, if a gambler who is really addicted to gambling even though he has run out of money and all his valuables, he is always looking for ways to still be able to gamble. even if he has to steal or rob the important thing he can do gambling. well this crazy gambling addiction is the worst phrase to avoid. because gambling addiction like that will be difficult to cure.

You need to be addicted to something in a way before you can consider stopping it. But if it isn't a problem to you then I see no reason to stop. So for me I haven't tried to stop gambling because I don't see it as an addiction I rarely even gamble nowadays at most I gamble two to three times in a week and sometimes I even go a while week without even opening any casino site.

But for those that are addicted to gambling it's a very difficult habit to stop, I have seen and heard so many stories of people trying to stop gambling and some of them have successfully stopped while the rest couldn't stop gambling.

The thing is...

Casinos does not make it easy for people to stop gambling, even if you enabled "self exclusion" ... because some casinos still send out promotions and advertisements to people that self excluded.

So, even if you manage to get that stopped... you still get bombarded by gambling advertisements on TV and also on social media. Once you gambled before, social media algorithms pick up on that ..and they send you gambling related content or adverts.. and then you are fcked again.

So it is up to you to control your urge...

I was once a gambler but letter I realized gambling is not for me so I quit,
When you started gambling maybe you were expecting money and when you noticed you were losing then you decided to quit. Am not addicted to gambling and am not expecting to win huge amount from gambling, so I don't care if I win or lose, I only gamble with just little amount of money, i just gamble to entertain myself. You were expecting money but you ended up losing that was why you think gambling is not for you.
But most people find it difficult to stop when they lose and instead try to recover their losses by continuing to play. But if the person later realizes what he is doing is wrong and can stop immediately, that is good for him because he can prevent more losses. Yes, we should be able to gamble moderately and not excessively because we also don't have a big chance of winning. And we must know our abilities when playing gambling and enjoy gambling more with little money.

The intention to stop gambling certainly always crosses everyone's mind. It's just that it can't be done in a nutshell. Once again I say that maybe stopping gambling is not a solution, but if we divert or change the perspective of gambling as just a game then the risk of addiction will not be too bad. Most of those who are addicted clearly cannot bring themselves to stop no matter how strong the result is nil.

Personally, even though I have been gambling for years, it feels like I can still control what I want. For example, whether there is money or not, I still have no guilt if I don't gamble. The key to it all is self-awareness and always thinking of everything as mere entertainment. Take control of gambling and you don't have to force yourself to stop.
Whether you think of gambling as a simple game or as a way to make money, if you gamble regularly, you will surely become a major addict. And on the other hand I agree with you that stopping gambling may not be a big solution.  But gambling should be used sparingly and always keep confidence in yourself that you will never become addicted to gambling anyway. This may be the only way to get rid of it
