Just relax, take a cup of coffee and wait for the market to start growing again. Believe me, this left very little time, as analysts say.
I check the prices every morning not to see if the value of my portfolio has gone up or down but to observe the market behavior and the compare the current speed with the price velocity of the last two months. This helps me to stay optimistic about the technology and is the only reason why I am still here. One should stay very consistence and patient if one want to have super normal profits.
If you have time, try at least to watch it especially if your targetting that coin pump, not all pumps happen in morning, many things can happen in a span of day, it may pump in just a few hours, so if you're seeing a positive increase and wanting it to trade better give more time, if possible to not miss that chance. We need to extend the time in trading if we prefer to do day trading and as we keep on doing it, we will eventually learn what things must be done to be successful in trading, It is only a matter of experience and determining the importance of that coin so it can survive in a volatile market.

If it stresses you out means that you have invested way more money than you should have. You have broken the one rule that everyone keep on saying. Try to not check the price more than three times in a day and set alerts if you feel that you will miss out on the price swings. Also if you believe in the project than the price shouldn't matter that much to you.
Apparently, that must have been his case because I see no reason why anyone should be stressed out by looking at the market, also, as long as you are not trading, I do not even see any reason why anyone should be looking at the market every minute of the day as that even sets such a person in a high level of emotion than they would imagine. Anyone going the HODL way should go about their normal daily activities and come back later on in future to check their holding.

Since OP knows something is driving him crazy and makes him anxious, then why is he still busy checking it ?
Probably he should read more about some people who bought bitcoin of few dollars back in 2009 and forgot about it only to come back years later that it has gone huge, making reference to the man who bought about $24 worth of bitcoin in 2009 and within a short period later in around 2013, was already hitting it big. Do not focus on the short term, focus on the long term.
I do not really into that much of checking btc price all the time. In fact, I never really check if there are no sudden news about btc. I only focus on collecting btc, because all I do is long term invest. If you are a daytrader or currently doing some short term invest, maybe you should check the price all the time. So that is the unique thing about long term invest, you do not need to monitor the price all the time. So I guess, in my opinion, if you want to cope with your stress, you should do a long term invest instead of short term or daytrading, hahaha. I just giving my humble opinion. I hope you can get over your stress and be positive again.

I too watch it every few hours. In the past years I was checking it every few weeks but I have missed too many occasions. I agree this is a stress, but there is no free lunch.

Very often I would say, few times a day but somehow I came to the phase that this doesn't make stresfull situation for me.
I look at the price changes, both positive and negative as an new opportunity or chance I have to use in the best possible way. And I now that volatility is quite natural for bitcoin so price changes are something that can't be avoided.
Yes.Because no matter what, its price fluctuations are still inevitable. So you just have to be calm as always and don't expect too much in cryptocurrency so you won't be frustrated when things aren't working according to your will. For me,i check btc price before sleeping and after waking up.That would be enough for me not to be left behind whenever there are dumps or pumps happening.

I'll admit that I still check BTC's price as frequent as when I first got into cryptocurrencies, but I sort of feel "numb" to the volatility. Bitcoin crashes by $5k? Meh. Alright. Time and experience in the blockchain ecosystem made me used to the huge price swings I guess.

how often do you check BTC price and how to cope with stress associated with this?  I am checking it every few hours and it drives me crazy and makes me anxious. Is there anybody in a similar situation and how do you cope with this?

PS: I was trying to do this once a month, but I think, I missed the beginning of the bear market in January this year because of this.

Thanks,
Mike
if you have an investment which is the reason why you always check the price everytime .Then i suggest to stay away from it,  'cause that is the common reason why some holders here in crypto world always end up into some factors, and always repent at the end.  If i were you pal stop observing the market, stay away on it read some news instead or go away then comeback before year end. 'cause for sure the price will rocketed again like what happened before.

Since I'm using coins.ph wallet I can check BTC price from time to time because of my e-loading business and bills payment. I feel exaggerated whenever I see the price goes down or up. Anyways, I can't feel too much stress since I don't have that much bitcoins in my wallet. With less stress I just have to take a break by having a coffee to cope up with it.
I also used coins.ph wallet to check the price of bitcoin twice or three times a day. Well, it is normal for bitcoin to go up's and down but what I worries is when it goes drastically down and that time i needed money. In other way, I feel pump when it hits uptrend and suddenly I convert some portion of my bitcoin to our currency.

The important thing to do so is to cope with not worrying at all because I believe that whenever it gets down, it will recover again and again. And we should patiently awaits for it.

I check it every time I open my pc.
Because in altcoin trading, the Bitcoin movement is very influential.

Try to forget everything and go on holiday at least one week. Maybe you will be fresh and do not think much about it if you breathe fresh air.
For me, I just play games or watch comedy shows to relieve stress due to loss.

Don't stress yourself, it will not help you a lot because whatever will you, BTC price always dump. In my case, I am not worry about my bitcoins. Yes, I am quiet nervous when I see that the market will dump for today and tomorrow but I did not make myself anxious and afraid everytime I visit my wallet. Making myself depress in that situation will just burning myself in my own oil, I will just focus my self in trading and posting that to worry about its price.

Well if in the traders situation and for example I am going to buy more bitcoin and etheruem and basing on the BTC price and how to cope with stress? and to answer your question I will will not look every day or if I do I will just not think about it. I will just stay calm and wait for the positive outcomes and results that is now happening. To talk about it just 50% of good news is rising we can not tell if market value will increase or decrease for this week, It can still change.

Same here. I checked the price whenever I can but I'm not that bothered to see if the price is falling. But there are days that I went silent, not even checking it. I guess when you are not worried about the price movement, it wouldn't make sense to check the price as frequent as the OP did. And I guess if you have really other priorities besides bitcoin and crypto, you can totally forget about checking the price that too often as well. But I'm pretty sure that there are newbies you are really connected and attached to their laptops and PC and mobile phones to check the price like every hour. LOL.

Instead of focusing on price all the time, why don't you change the habit of your into buying bitcoin on a regular basis. You can buy bitcoin in small amount three times a week. That regular purchase will help you to accumulate bitcoin and at the same time keep you abreast of prices without stress.

If you are investing your money into anything, you must monitor them constantly, i would check the market every hour and i do get notification if the market started moving up or down, there is nothing to worry if you have entered at the right price, the only thing you must have is patience. There are apps which will help you in monitoring the market and check your valuations.
