I've watched several TED talks on this particular subject, so I do recommend you doing that. One talk that stood out to me explained that you need to have confidence when publicly speaking; and if you don't have the confidence within yourself yet, "fake it til you make it." With practice you will eventually acquire the confidence.

Do your research beforehand. If you have information about the topic, then you can analyze and arrange your speech/thoughts so you know the flow of the discussion. Also, try not to stress yourself over public speaking because it's not yet the end of the world for you if you ever stutter in front of your audience.

you should exercise before having the speech in from of the mirror, or let someone listen to you Smiley another suggestion is just have as many speeches as possible, until it becomes something natural.

The best way to become a good conversationalist is to be confident and to master what you want to discuss, and the important thing is to speak honestly.

There is a commonly cited statistic that people are generally more fearful of public speaking than they are of death. The idea of performing a speech in front of an attentive audience is a nerve-wracking concept for most people. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be. Being a great speaker is a skill that is learned just as much as any other. When you have a strong command of your voice and self-presentation, confidence with public speaking tends to fall into place.

Read more articles to broaden your vocabulary, or any books you like. You'll just be surprised that after a few weeks, words just flow out of your mouth.
Also try and converse with different people or different personalities, it will help you build your confidence and heighten your esteem.

I think you should pay attention to eye contact, for communication 1 on 1, you should look at his eyes seriously about 70%. If the speaker feel intimidated try to rilex and looked away to the side.

If you want to become a good speaker, you should first have an idea on what it means to be great. Famous speeches became that way in part because the speaker knew how to wring the most feeling and meaning out of what he was saying. Pay attention to the pauses they take, the words they emphasize, and the steady pace most famous speakers perform at. Public speaking is ultimately an art. There are countless ways you can perform the same speech. Thanks
