Know you material inside out.  That will give you confidence and allow you to relax.  If you don't know your material, you are sunk before you start.  When I have given speeches, my best speeches were when I was free to move around.  I don't like standing behind a podium.  If I need to project something on a big screen, I like the room to be semi lit.  I like to still be able to see my audience.  Again, know your material.

I am really having a problem with my speaking skills especially one-on-one. Can you give me some advice or link about improving speaking skills coz I think it will really be hard to get hired.  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Speaking in front of a large crowd is not a natural activity for anyone, to get better at it, you need to learn how to do it, prepare and practice “It’s a skill, not a talent.

Practice. Practice. Practice.
Get rejected. Get rejected. Get rejected.

Time will come when you are not nervous anymore when being interviewed.
When will it come? I don't know. Just keep on trying.

Before you can become a good speaker, you have to be a good thinker first.
What will you say when you don't have anything in your mind?

In my opinion to be a good speaker you need to consider who is your audience are, so that you can use a proper and appropriate words for your listener. Another thing is you need to speak base on your experience so that your own story has it's own existence and be easily to believe in.

Just like the old saying goes, "You have to be a good follower in order to be a good leader", is just the same as "you have to be a good listener to be a good speaker". You should always know the topic in case you are speaking in front of a group of people so that in case there are questions you can easily answer them. Always have an eye contact with the person you are talking to or make eye contacts with the group of people you are talking to. Whenever you feel that your listeners are feeling bored with you talking, find a way to lighten up their moods.

When I was learning foreign language, speaking to myself did really help. Just keep conversations with yourself in your mind on the language you learn. Also try to write more, it helps in speaking as well.

flip your mindset to ease nerves and be confidence in your self and speech. Be consistent in reading books especially motivational books and novels to enhance your vocabulary skills.

I think that the main thing is to be confident in what you will speak about.
