Also check the community, not just numbers but the actual community. And then you can check out their roadmap. OR you can simply choose the top 50 of coins in the coinmarketcap.

I can tell you that many coins will fail in future. Only those with working and viable product will stand the test of time and gain value. I am looking at HBP, DCC and Seele. Others are basically exchange tokens like BMX and Coinex

Yes, there are already many altcoins have been created, but only few of them are worth to buy.
When i want to buy a coin, i usually find the advantages of the coin from the others. If i not find anything, i wont buy that coin
