I think the reason for this problem might be one of the possible answers. The anonimity of BTC is one of the main issues because the government can't tax that. So why not make a crypto that is specifically designed so that the government can track it? If this crypto would be exchangable for BTC, then BTC could become the cash to that currencies banking payments. These days the only sources of money being traced by governments is banking system money anyways. This would result in a system very similar to what we now have, with the benefits of being based on the blockchain. I know you guys hate government control, me too. But this thread was about how to make governments accept BTC (which I personally would not see happening unless its Nauru because they have been shut out of the regular banking system) and I think we all need to accept that they never will accept something they can't control.
Yeah bro , Anonymously activity in the bitcoin is a big reason to get facing the problem by the bitcoin with some countries and also hot banned by some countries already .
No doubt that in the bitcoin we have many numbers of the advantage which is possible in Fiat but but not available to use .
Here in my opinion the owner of bitcoin needed to came in the open world and put his some plans to give a  single address for single person ( with multiple address ) .
And every wallet should be verified by the legal documents KYC update .
In this way we will be able to make Bitcoin  got removed the ban from the banned countries like Bangladesh .

I have a question for you. How to make governments accept bitcoin and not see it as a threat? So that one could use bitcoin in daily use, such as paying taxes or grocery shopping. What is there, other than anonymity, thats making governments fear bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?

if someone who will pass a law that saying to legalize or be bitcoin to be known it will be accept, and if the goverment already has a bitcoin I think they will push a law regarding this and bitcoin will be known nationwide.

only way to get bitcoin accepeted by government is for bitcoin users to make move to help it reach government

It's not that easy. The government is aware of bitcoins and of course some people have tried suggesting it to the government. Anything that can have a good effect on the economy of a certain country is already in one of the many ideas the government have in mind. Bitcoin, in its nature, is decentralized. It's something that the government want to avoid since they can't collect tax from bitcoin.

If I sold you a Spotify account or an Amazon gift certificate, the government can't collect tax from it. Let's say that I run a huge business that sells discounted Amazon gift certificate and I use bitcoin as payment, the government can't get anything from me even if I earn thousands of dollars from it.

Tax is one of the things the government is so concerned about because it's how they afford the services that the public is using.

The government is probably making studies with regards to bitcoin. Government itself knows what is the capability of bitcoin. Thus making it a threat to them. And also Government has no control on bitcoin.

Because of the free and fast pace system of bitcoin that is why many users are into it and majority will always work on with bitcoin that is why the government are controlling the wide spread knowledge all over the world so it will not gonna be their problem in the future that it might become the worlds one currency and the other currency will be diminish because of bitcoin but in my opinion it is not easy for bitcoin to take over and become the currency itself but i'm still happy the way bitcoin goes to the TOP!

Bitcoin is a problem to all currencies, because how to say to the world that bitcoin will replace all currencies? Dollar the king of currencies one of the most powerful currencies of the world wont accept bitcoin to replace. It would be great to see a unic currencie like EU, with different prices and salaries, the problem is that bitcoin its limited and cant be our currencie due to those.

Bitcoin is much closer to the economic system, so governments won't easily consider bitcoin however high it might be. As testing and trials were going on for future use, can expect into effect when the test and trials becomes successful.

Anonymity, transparency, decentralized. These are all of the things has been hated by the government. We can't do anything, the government has interested with the blockchain system and nothing for bitcoin.
Decentralization top my list of what could prevent bitcoin' use. Part of what makes any government powerful is the control of money system, No government will allow another government to control hers
Yes the money system is very powerful system in any country, so the home govt only handle this post they will never give it to other country govt. The only possible way to impress your govt means to pay tax for your all transaction to govt. They may have a chance to accept Bitcoin as legal currency why because they will get income from your transaction.

basically the only way I think they would accept bitcoin is if they make a profit on it
Yes it's true government will accept bitcoin if they can earn some profit. I read some article in our country and they are planning to regulate the bitcoin so basically they put a tax on the bitcoin transactions
I believe imposing taxes would be the 1st to step from the government side to start accepting bitcoin payments system. When they are able to collect taxes from bitcoin users I believe they will not be having any issues in accepting bitcoin system.

I guess it will be possible for them when people converting their bitcoin into fiats. But people who are holding bitcoins and spending bitcoins will be the exception here.
- Exactly, so I do not want the government to care or accept bitcoin, which will reduce the income of all Bitcoin users. I think now bitcoin is very good, we do not need the government to accept it and I also believe the government will not accept it because they can not manage or own it. If the government accepts Bitcoin, there is a lot of problems will happen and they can not solve those problems. Bitcoin should live outside the law, that would be good for Bitcoin users

In my opinion, we could practice paying/accepting bitcoins instead of our respective currencies in our daily lives. Business men could start doing their businesses in exchange for bitcoins. Online sellers could encourage their buyers to sign up for a bitcoin wallet to get rebates or discounts. If government sees everyone has been using bitcoins maybe they too would consider using it. They might consider bitcoins instead of mainstream currencies for their payroll.  Grin
It's up to them how to regulate bitcoins in their territory (if they could); but for us consumers, if we want bitcoins to be accepted in everyday living, then we must start using it NOW in our daily living.

Also, I really thought that governments are scared of anything that makes them powerless Grin Just my two cents

The biggest threat of the government to bitcoin is its ownership. We know that bitcoin is owned by an anonymous mysterious person whom we commonly know as Satoshi Nakamoto. We know at the very first place that the government always have a well planned future for its country under its supervision. And bitcoin as a means of money in a country it will hinder them to easily access to it since its not only under its control. The fear of losing control is guess why the government find it hard to accept bitcoin. Since we are knowledgable that the government needs assurance for the purpose of serving the country and the people. If the said worries will be given solution I guess theres no reason why cant the government accept bitcoin.

The government in my opinion they will accept bitcoin if this things will become centralized, and transaction will be regulated by the government. But that things won't gonna happen like as we all know bitcoin is designed as decentralization.

Yes, governments will always think about their own beneficial purpose. Bitcoin is people's money the man behind is fed up with all the banking system and governments. So he created bitcoin as people's money, government need taxes for the usage of bitcoin. Once every citizen pays taxes for using bitcoin than government starts thinking about bitcoin.

Bitcoin is completely regulated under different technology, even though government accepts bitcoin entirely control will not be in their hands, so the government will not accept bitcoin maybe.

Governments fear that bitcoin would promote illegal trading like drugs. They dont want to loose their revenues got from taxes.Bankers would not like governments to approve bitcoins as bitcoin is the worst nightmare for them.Whether the governments accept or not, they could not completely ban bitcoins.

The government will only accept the Bitcoin if they will get some money out of it otherwise they won't accept it.
The government don't like the Bitcoin because they can't make profit from it.
