How can we make governments accept the idea of freedom? Exactly. Cheesy this is why I'm here right now, the fact that Bitcoin is anonymous fascinated me. We are in 0% freedom, every step we take is monitored. All I can do is stay with Bitcoin as much as I can and hope it will never fail!
I think if you give the idea of freedom to the government. of course, the government will immediately ban it. because the government certainly wants to control all existing currency. whereas they can not control the bitcoin
bitcoin decentralization so the government is almost impossible to control bitcoin. I thought why not be accepted by the government because bitcoin bitcoin could not give an advantage to the country and the negative side bitcoin more than the positive side examples of anonymity

Yeah, but bitcoin is not anonymous. All transactions with bitcoin are registered. And transfers between addresses can be traced backwards.
States do not want any system they can not get tax.
You can evade tax with cash money as well. Bitcoin is not some holy grail for tax evaders as typical bitcoin's layman may think.
If governments fully legalize and embrace BTC, then it will only help them gain more profits.
Today BTC is kinda in grey area for tax payers, no one is paying any tax, people either don't know if that is needed or just refuse to do so and nobody cares.

I have a question for you. How to make governments accept bitcoin and not see it as a threat? So that one could use bitcoin in daily use, such as paying taxes or grocery shopping. What is there, other than anonymity, thats making governments fear bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?

Today, bitcoin is not a threat to the states. Yes bitcoin is very valuable. We all know the value of bitcoin against the dollar. But states have yet to fully understand the importance of bitcoin. That's why I do not think they're afraid of bitcoin.

no i think its still threat sir
the anonymous on bitcoin is the problem

even without anonymous on account bank nowadays, people still able to do lot of bad things and still hard to track

Yeah, but bitcoin is not anonymous. All transactions with bitcoin are registered. And transfers between addresses can be traced backwards.
States do not want any system they can not get tax.

- I do not think the government will accept Bitcoin, they will not accept a currency which they can not control. Above all, if they accept Bitcoin, money laundering vices will happen. Important is if the government accepts Bitcoin, they will collect taxes and with us this is not good
- Bitcoin will influence greatly to the banks, this is a very difficult problem to solve. Bitcoin need more time and I believe in the near future, Bitcoin will be accepted

Thus the rapid development of bitcoin in each country and with the number of users as well as the business opportunities of the existence of bitcoin, I think the government would automatically accept the existence of bitcoin as a digital currency and can be used for transactions such as paper currency, however for legality bitcoin the authorities also needed time for further assessment,

Very cool when we discuss the potential & possibilities. But banks will not be silent if bitcoin potential to dominate financial centers in each country. They will be involved in conspiracy with government to control & monopolize bitcoin (not adopt).

There is great resistance from independent users/groups, Due to nature of bitcoin are very anonymous, provide the broad sense that Bitcoin has potential to colonize the world's financial center, not colonized by mainstream banking system.

For now in my country I don't think the government here will accept bitcoin directly, and the only thing I know that bitcoin would be accept is the corporate companies not the government. Because the decentralization of bitcoin is the good thing why the government in each nations cannot control it,.

None of the country government will not accept bitcoin as a centralized money. Because they do not want their government ledger to be open one. Then value also volatile. So do not able to run the stable economy in the country through out the year.

Absolutely, Government won't accept BTC as centralized money and not only because of its value volatility but it is also have freedom for their users, and they won't be able to track and thus, corruption might increase. In our country they restricted at the beginning but later allowed to indulge in BTC. Though it is great, but there are some limitations.
But when we are thinking in depth, why we need government to accept bitcoins.
I mean we are into a stage currently what we are having like bitcoin has decent price levels and numerous number of merchants are already accepting bitcoins and every bitcoiner finds his own methods and hence able to spend bitcoins somewhere.

All these are happening without support from any governments. Why we do not continue it as it is same?

Because at some point the government would be against us, thus, having a stopping point that is much less than bitcoin's potential. There are "numerous" merchants accepting bitcoins, you said. But the truth is, there's not that much establishments that's accepting bitcoins. If you go to the mall, you can shop all you want using your fiat. Bitcoin is the total opposite.

The government declaring bitcoins as a legal payment would not only increase the number of users, but it would also increase the price of bitcoin and the number of merchants accepting it.

Yup! and when users increase there would be a time that people would only use bitcoin and then avoiding tax won't be a problem anymore and I think this is what the government is preventing the balance of the circulation of money would not be the same anymore well I think they would think of ways to prevent this in the future well I really think that bitcoin would go really way up!

We cannot force the government to accept bitcoin since in the first place they are trying so hard to "regulate" it and to prevent it from having widespread acceptance. Also, why would they accept such a currency that opposes the general purpose of the banks which they back so hard?

Government always wanted to track everything or having every information available of every individual but some people always wanted freedom so even if government put restriction on bitcoins people will use it. As for making government accept bitcoins government will loose tax income so it is a worthless to make them accept bitcoins.

People will continue using bitcoins as every individual wants freedom. Let's see what happens..

You don't need to make the government accept bitcoin in any way. Because once government sees that bitcoin is making people of their country rich, they will start taking interest on it and that won't be good for the general bitcoin users of that country. Remember, bitcoin is not controlled by any central authority which makes it questionable in nature in the eyes of government.

So it is always better, that the government of your country don't bother bitcoin users soon. Bitcoin will survive as an international currency if they keep low profile. Shout about bitcoin will make things worse for all.
i think we really need it and we can pressurize government to accept bitcoin by increasing the number of bitcoin users. if the number of bitcoin users will increase then certainly the government will come in pressure and they must be start thinking about bitcoin and hope that they cannot go against the people decisions. they must have to accept what their want.
If governament accept the bitcoin what is the use for people? we will get options to pay our bills through bitcoin that's it. but for this, we have to pay tax for governament. So what difference you found in Fiat and bitcoin payment for both we must pay tax. So if the govt does not accept bitcoin then at least we can pay bills without any tax we can save some money.
yes there will be too much advantages of this. we will be able to use bitcoin as legal currency, more and more people will do trust on it and will accept bitcoin for so many other purposes. although we will then pay tax on it but i think it is not bad to pay tax on bitcoin.

Just for your support information government doesn't see Bitcoin as a threat and it isn't something to be afraid of , they said Bitcoin can't be regulated and that is true but exchanges can be regulated! what is the sense of Bitcoin if you can't convert it to fiat? maybe almost none ! that is why the government is targeting the exchanges not the Bitcoin itself
The only reason to convert your bitcoin to fiat if you are not a trader, it is to buy stuff you cannot buy with bitcoin but as time passes on and more commerces accept bitcoin as a form of payment then we will not need to engage in such trades and buy directly with bitcoin.

How to make governments accept bitcoin?
government in my country prohibits the use bitcoin, because it is not for the payment of legitimate.
so the government allowed bitcoin impossible to trade and buy,but in my country bitcoin users more than 10K people
So sad to hear that, where are you from mate? But, bitcoin users there more than 10K, it's consider pretty much for a country which banned bitcoin used. And, how do you convert bitcoin into local currency? Is there any punishment if you are caught in the act using bitcoin? Sorry, for all those questions, I hope you don't mind to share with us.

I wonder which country he's from.  If a country prohibits the use of BTC, its possible that they will also block btc sites such as this forum right?

Our government had recently announce the monitoring of Bitcoin Exchange in our country which I think could be the beginning of our sufferings. Remittances in our country that accepts BTC are just few and they would soon be taxing every transactions we'll do. That's what they do.
