You have to include the bitcoin address you're signing from Evildrum, without knowing which address was used to sign the message, there's no possible way to know if the message verifies or not.

After your edit (address added), the message verifies (online link).

Thank you.. You caught me in a funny spot. Was trying to finish that by pasting all the details and then going back to the original post to copy the format and throw everything in order. Hard to do when I had some one yacking at me on the other end of the phone.

Appreciate you verifying this for me.

Aslo thanks for that link, now I need to learn how to verify a message. Cry

Just testing out this tutorial Smiley first time making a signed message as well.

I want someone to verify my new wallet address, I quoted my old one as reference I can't sign from that address because I forgot my password as it was a random bunch of letters and numbers which I wrote down on paper and lost the paper :s This account is verified to be mine as someone checked it two weeks ago in another thread (I forget the name of the thread, it's a popular thread though, think it was the staking account thread). New Signed message below:

@shorena
seems like blockchain.info new wallet finally added a sign/verify message feature. link here.
the option is not available on addresses generated by the new wallet though. only the imported ones.

thanks added a link.

As far as i know you can't sign a message on the new version. Some people here already complain about this and warn other not to update. There's a thread about this but i forgot where is that. or i just read it somewhere here.

just for the info for blockchain new beta .

there is button " show private keys " now but . for the old address its not work  the priv key will showing another address ,

i just tested with the new imported address and show priv keys its working . but not for the old address from blockchain legacy web wallet

Can you tell me how to sign an address via Bread Wallet ?

The last time I had access to an iOS device it was not possible.

We need to mail a link of this info to Craig Wright, apparently Satoshi has forgotten how to do it.   Roll Eyes

Feel free to send him a copy.

Since we are talking about very old keys, should be enough to send the bitcoin core part Wink

I thought it was a bit OT, but then I noticed a lot of verification requests also in this thread.

I think we should to let people try here. Its not the same as staking an address. I see it more as the opportunity of a playground. Posting a signed message here that someone else can verify also shows me that people are actually able to sign message, while a "thx, learned it" does not and often feels like a spam post just to increase the counter by one. Thanks for the verification btw.

Yes, at the end I got it.
My first intention was just a little try to help keeping clean your usefull thread, but the playground idea is indeed the best way to check if people have understood how it works.

Thanks for your how-to, Shorena.
In these days it seems that even Satoshi has problems to sign a message: your tutorial should be sent to him!  Grin

Yes, your message is verified! (Bitcoin Core)

I think it's better to post it in the other thread: Stake your Bitcoin address here
Edit: I thought it was a bit OT, but then I noticed a lot of verification requests also in this thread.

oh man wow...great tutorial..thanks a lot

If you want to thank me, post a signed message. Its good for both of us. For you because you can see that you can sign a message that someone else can verify. For me because I know you actually learned something.
