I think that usually a guy which play games for a long time, risk to became a gambler addicted. Which method you use for stop plaiyng when you understand that you are near to became addicted?

For example, i don't play a lot or for long time (i play games spot during my free time), so i have no idea about, but i trade forex all day and when i had a significant  loss i usually turn off my Pc and i go out for a drink , just for not run behind loss.

Not all gamblers are having the same thinking and thoughts. Because there are some gamblers they gamble for pass time only, or for fun. And others they do gamble because they have a personal problems, so I don't playing gamble for a long time is not a sign of gambling addiction. Thanks and God bless Smiley

You are right, some rich people will do full day gambling, there intention is not to make money they will just play for fun and time pass. and I also play just for my entertainment not to make money. But sometimes in holidays, i will spend more time in gambling, But I am not addicted gambler. I have control on my play. So we can not consider that those who play more time gambling they are addicted gambler.

It's hard to spot an addicted gambler by looking at the physical appearance. You may only know once you know the person once you speak to them. You may also know them if they are always playing the same game in casinos.

yes indeed difficult if we only look at their physical shape. Or arguably also will not be able to. Addiction to gambling can be seen very clearly if we already know someone very well, knew him very long, we could see a change in the attitudes and habits of everyday. Because we know his habits before addiction and its changes after addiction.

First trait of a gambling addict is his drive of always coming back to gamble even if he's kept losing persistently. You find out his records through social engineering and you'd know he always comes to lose yet he's not giving up.

Don't confuse habit with addiction.
A person can play weekly for 10 years, spends a day every week playing cards, which makes him a habitual gambler. This can be his hobby and it doesn't mean he's addicted. So, as you can see doing something for a long time doesn't lead to addiction.

Usually there are two factors that show you're addicted. There are more but these 2 are the easiest to spot and also the most descriptive.
1. You keep thinking about doing it every day. Even if you're with your family or at work you are looking for an excuse to place some bets or check on how you're doing.
2. You play until you win big or lose everything. Small wins don't satisfy you. If you lose you start thinking how to get money to bet again and get it all back.

No matter how someone plays to me, he/she is not addicted so far he is winning and losing moderately and on the advantageous side he is now winning more then he is not addicted but for someone or the moment when we can now take an estimate of returns from gambling and found out that its turning into deficit and recovering is not imminent, then that is being addicted and it will now be advised that effort should be made in reducing or stopping.

I don't see any wrong with the things you did, its escaping what you called on your deeds actually. For us to determine if he/she play a long hours in the gambling sites.

There is actually no ways to understand that you are about to become an addict and stop playing, because you will not realize it at all. You will just come and play and if you lose you go away and you come back again if you get money and that means you are addicted, but still you yourself wont realize it at all. That is the reason why people can't stop themselves because they just do it and don't think about anything.

at first, I got confused after I read your post mate and I just wonder what are you really referring to is it how to spot or how to stop ? Grin but then I clearly understand that according to your statement it is all about to how to stop a gambling addiction if I'm not mistaken . Grin well, It's really hard for someone to notice themselves and realized that they already addicted but I see yourself getting very frustrated after every game and desiring to go back and play again once you have enough money to gamble once again then that will be the time that you need to take a break or totally stay away from gambling, in order to do that you just need to change your mindset, diversifying your hobbies or keep your focus on one thing away from your gambling habit would be a great help . also you really need a deep self discipline .

I have been in the gambling game for a long time now and i have been in Vegas numerous times because I have friends that live there and sometimes we go there for some casual gambling. It is easy to spot addicts because they are always there on working days, it's like they somehow have unlimited money, they are always are sitting there inserting coins on the damn machines.

Other than that I dont know how you would spot an addict.

Imo there's nothing wrong in playing for a long time as long as you can control yourself to stop gambling anytime then you don't have to worry about it.
For your question I usually watch some movie or anime to avoid gambling, sometimes make myself busy to avoid thinking about gambling.

I agree as long as you still have your control, it does not matter whether you play long hours or short hours.  What matters is the unstoppable urge to play gambling games even if you do not have free money to use as a bankroll, resulting to using the money that is alloted to other things.  This is one symptoms of gambling addiction.
If a player is playing for long time that is not they are losing their time. They are also considered as the losers and addict because they do not give that time in any other activity to live a beneficial life.

First you should define what an addict is, second, identify why that person is playing for a long time.  There are people who look at gambling as their means of recreational activity.  For example, older people tends to use gambling as form of socialization, they will play for a long hours until they are done spending the whole day, do you consider them gambling addict?  Another thing is, if this is the persons means of earning money, of course he will spend a very long time for gambling just like when we are doing our day job.  Are we addicted to our job because we are staying almost 10 hours a day not including the overtime hours?  Basically it is not measured on how long or how short you are playing gambling, instead it is measured by impulse-control.  If you lose your control, then that is the time we can call you an addict.  But as long as you are sane even if you spend your whole lifetime playing gambling games, it does not conclude that you are a gambling addict.

If you see someone talks about gambling everyday like he breathes with it so definitely  that's a candidate for gambling. Or if he prioritize gamble above else like his family and friends, then you spotted a gambling addicted person.

and if someone had put gambling on everything, especially on his family, he was at the highest level of addiction. When he chose to gamble rather than congregate or hang out with his family. It was an addiction that is difficult to cure. In fact, the family plays an important role in the treatment of gambling addiction. And if he had not listened to anyone, how can he stop?

Perhaps the beginning of a person's addiction to gambling is because it never experienced a victory that is so great and made him terterarik for gambling back

If you gamble away more than you can afford to lose, then you are probably addicted. If you can't find a time to quit and cut your losses, then you are probably addicted to gambling.
as simply as like that , i agree with your clear and concise statement.
when you gamble still on the limit amount you should not have to worry to get addicted later.
those people is over-exert yourself, they know they cannot keep getting a win but still go for it however.
In gambling addiction, the money does not matter, if you play with a small amount or big amount no matter. The thing is how much time you are spending per day in gambling. If you play whenever you get free time and not make this is an habit then you are ok. But if you can not get sleep without playing gambling and you know you are in loss but still you feel like to play then you are addicted to gambling.
