yes you can start even in small capital but expect the grow of your btc will take some time because the bigger you invest the bigger profits too in return just support alts that have good dev and potential project to showed in the future.

Trading with a small amount is only good as a way to learn as you cannot make a decent money if you hope to earn big with a small amount. If you area really interested in trading, you can just create an account in your desired trading site and deposit bitcoins into your address and you are good to go.

The expensive ones you wont be able to buy alot of them making not much profit.

That is not advisable to lend money here due to many scammers and you cannot demand enough documents that you will hold to determine their real identity, I think it is better to use the money to trade that lend it to sometime with no assurance you can collect the money.

But sometimes the low price of altcoins can stuck and never to get up. So its very difficult to buy altcoins maybe you can lose your money or get profit into it. The better they can do is search for active coins and they do short trade to get profit. Small amount of bitcoin can lose that because if you have enough capital you can lose the small one.

I think in trading the only risk experienced will be the transaction failures. When some transactions goes wrong it automatically makes loss to the trader. Also this can be solved only if the trader takes high responsibility.

it is why I have programmed a system where you can start trading with "zero satoshi"
once you have earned for free a little amount...you can use it on platforms where very small amounts are not possible.

altcoin is a better option for starting trade with small amount but in searching for a cheap altcoin the traders must have to be more alert in regards of the history and the potential of that coin and project as mostly those coins comes to cheaper price which are on the way of their death.

You can always buy altcoins at a variety of exchanges such as yobit, and poloniex. You can even lend bitcoins in Poloneix(or you can start lending in the lending sections of this forum depending on the amount of bitcoins that you have)! Just make sure to do your due diligence on the altcoins and I hope that you won't get scammed.
