I think you should go first to the doctor or psychiatrist to check how to prevent to gamble or how to stay away in gambling..provably if you are addicted its hard to stay away easily in gambling so better to go first in psychiatrist maybe he can brainwash you to don't gamble..
I'd like to justify the word "brainwash". Psychiatrists use operant conditioning to change the patient's behaviour. Some uses positive reinforcement (rewarding the patient whenever he does not gamble for a day), and punishment or negative reinforcement (do not get food if the patient gambles within the day).
I Think go to church and pray
Or go to vacation with your family and friends.
I don't think going to church and pray would work at all even though that would make you busy for a short time. Going out on a vacation is a good suggestion because it will make the gambler excited about what he's about to do. It will take gambling out of his mind on the time being. But when he's back to his home I wonder if he'll never get the urge to gamble.
The effect of exercise on your overall well being cannot be overstated. When you find yourself giving in, go to the gym. It will take your mind off it, and can improve mental health long term, you might just overcome your habit.
That is true. Instead of gambling, go for an exercise. It will keep you in shape, remove the bulging tummy and keeps you healthy. And you won't lose money doing it. Unlike gambling, sitting all day behind a computer is a complete opposite of exercise.
Joining a synchronous activity will really really take your attention away from gambling. People who do synchronous stuffs like dancing, zumba, or exercise tend to be committed with the group. This will make you live longer and in shape as well as keep you busy, making yourself not able to think about gambling throughout the day.
