Yup! it is made for fun but if the gambler is really addicted to gambling then he can never control himself he can never control his bets and is always thinking on playing, an addicted person can never say no to gambling even if he likes some other hobbies.

Don't you think the reason why they got addicted to gambling is because they lost control of themselves? And now you're telling them to 'control' themselves? Roll Eyes

It might be easy to say for a normal person to an addict to take control. But control's the very thing that they lost. It doesn't work that way, buddy. If someone's there to help them control themselves, then maybe that 'control' will work.

well sadly to say most of the time, people with addiction already lose their control and this is why gambling become a bad thing. Nothing is bad unless you overdo it. And when you lose your control, even asking any questions would help you much cause the urge is already there and cant be easily subsided. You will need professional help.

Gambling and smoking indeed are same in addictive condition, but it is different if you compare like this : can gambling for fun? Yes. Can smoking for fun?of course not.

"Control" is easy word but it is hard to act like that, it is not a concrete solution.

Boht are fun because it depends on the person who's doing it. Now it will only be sad if you lost in gambling and you get disease in smoking.

They say prevention is better than cure. So if you are just gambling small time, why not just quit gambling altogether. This will remove all the chance that you will be addicted. Then you do not have to seek any help at all. Just don't do it in the first place and everything will be fine.

The best way to stay away from gambling is that you must have the discipline by yourself and that you must know that you have to gamble with only some small amounts.
If that doesnt help you can find some distraction that you will help to stay away like sports or hobbys.

Stay away from the internet is the worst idea, you can do many things in the internet and not always about gambling. You can download movie and watch it to make you stay away from gambling because it's killing your time and make you forget about gambling.

Maybe he could cut internet out until he is cured of gambling addiction. I think that could work. Maybe a few weeks of no internet is worth it if he could cure his addiction. Just be sure he never go out gambling in real casinos. That will defeat the purpose. Other than that, I think it is good idea atleast he tried to cure it.

Its not only in the internet ,if you relly addicten on gamble you will go place have this like casino.

If you want to stay away from gambling then first thing is you shouldn't visit any of these gambling sites because as you said those games are so attractive and people who are interested in gambling couldn't control after seeing those games. So it is better to avoid visiting these sites and try to spend more time with family members and friends outside then may be slowly can't avoid these gambling habits.

Yeah it would be the first move on staying away on gambling addiction but if you can only stay away from gambling sites but you have no control on what you want to achieve makes its useless since if you just saw a new gambling site and thought of trying it but you have no control on yourself maybe you'll just do it again and again.
