First you must have a big motivation. Some of my friends stop smoking just like that, but some people have hard time to stop. The easy way to stop smoking is step by step. Throw your cigar and move to e-cigar (vape), reduce the nicotine dose and eat more vege that contain nicotine like potato, tomato, and the other. Then stop smoke

As a nurse myself i found that quitting is a matter of descision you just tell yourself that this is enough and you should maintain it ,do not keep waiting for the urge and the need of smooking to go away , just live with it untill it goes on its own it may take long but be patient.

In my opinion it's hard to stop smoking specially that you used to smoke for many years. Stop smoking is a very good decision coz you will get a lot of benifits that good to your body. To avoid it, engage yourself to keep on busy and stop thinking of smoking when time come that your body urged to smoke eat some candies.

Do you want to quit or you just feel like you must quit. Because it is easier to quit smoking when it is YOUR desire, not someone else's. The only work u need to do before quitting is working on your mind, dive deep and know why you smoke from the forst place and solve it from the roots. There is a reaspn u cant stop, know it.

Smoking is more than just a physical addiction to nicotine. It is also a psychological addiction. Why do you smoke? Is it a break from your hectic day? Is it a moment of peace when you can be alone with your thoughts? Most people smoke for the same reasons alcoholics drink. It’s a chance to escape, relax, or reward yourself.

Anticipate your high-risk situations and plan for them. This will help you deal with them better. Here are some common triggers for smoking cravings:

Drinking coffee
Finishing a meal
Driving your car
Using the phone
Stressful situations
Drinking alcohol
Social events

First of thanks for every suggestion. I slowly over the years became a smoker. I became aware of my addiction. I tried quiting several timer, but every time I would come back to it and smoke even more.

I tried two things so far:

1. Fully stoping to smoke
2. Gradually reducing

But it backfired every time. How did you stop?

I tryed to stop smoking many times by different ways: gradual method (about two month reducing the dose of nicotine), fast method - for one day, and other methods, only about 5 times. But really it helped me a book of Allen Karr "Easy way to quit smoke". And I have not smoked about 10 years! And very happy for it! This book is based on neurolinguistic programming, but I do not care, because the method is really effective!!!

After failing to quit using "pure willpower", vaping, and even Chantix, I managed to succeed using an audiobook called Alan Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking. Worked very well and after a 6 hour listen-through the whole book -- I had been completely turned against the idea of smoking another cigarette.

The ideas in the book stayed with me, and even though I've smoked socially at a bar here and there on occasion, I've never become a "smoker" again, and it's been about 3 years since I was.

1. Fully stoping to smoke
2. Gradually reducing
Gradually reducing sounds like hard mode because it changes nothing mentally but increases your desire to smoke allowed amount of sigarettes. Fully stoping is much more realistic way to quit.
The best way is reconsideration of the addiction, it makes people smoke because they think about sigarettes and cant control that process. You have to train your brain to replase your thoughts about smoking, jog one kilommeter if you want to smoke for example.

I guess the first step you need to do to stop smoking is Self Control. Yes , your now addicted to cigarette . If you smoke ten stick of cigarette every day then you reduce using it the next day . Then suddenly , if you can do one stick a day you can do no smoke at all day. No smoking is a good of our health.

Smoking is really addictive. I once smoked and I really find it hard to quit because I am already addicted to it. But if you really want to change your lifestyle, you will force yourself to quit. The first thing you have to do is to set your mind about your goal so that when you feel like you want to give up, you won't. Determination is the key. There are many ways on how to quit and you can do it as long as you are determined.

It's hard to quit smoking, that's what I'm experiencing now, It's been more than two years I tried to stop smoking, by way of treatment and trying to swallow menkomsumsi and all have not succeeded, indeed to immediately stop smoking directly is difficult, For me to stop smoking immediately it is hard to gradually gradually, from one day we two cigarettes out of the pack are now packaged, and two or three weeks ahead we can run out of one pack of cigarettes and next month we can be reduced again to smoke, and that is what I have done and can be reduced .

smokers who do not want to quit because they feel that quitting smoking only hurting themselves. Nobody can convince a person to quit smoking better than himself. Get support to your friends or family to always remind you of your target to quit smoking. Try to gradually reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke in the next few weeks until you finally stop altogether at the target time you have set.
Do not you think stop smoking as a sacrifice. Think that you will get more benefits by not smoking

Even then, it is the power of the human being, the humanity, the conscience is to stop smoking by making the right decision.

Disclaimer: i'm not a smoker unless you count copius amounts of cannabis

However my uncle was a heavy smoker for a long time, half a pack a day type guy. You may laugh but he bucked up for some highly rated hypno-therapy and he hasn't smoked since...that was 4 years ago...It's worth looking into atleast. Good luck!

Option 1. Don't buy cigarettes.

Option 2. Don't put cigarettes in your mouth.

Option 3. Don't set cigarettes on fire.

Pick one, or more than one. Follow these steps and you will no longer be smoking. Yes, it really is just that simple.
