I asked my friends about that matter. They all says mindbover matter.

Did you ask them if they accomplish their goal to stop smoking? If not, then they are not telling you everything. I suggest you ask them what are the steps they follow.

Its a matter of decision on how you stop from smoking, there so many ways to stop if you are willing to stop, but if not you will not succeed in stopping this kind of habbit, because you are already addicted.

Most of the time, yes, but some still need a proof that it is bad for their health. They will wait until one of their lungs is gone, or for the other parts of the body to give up because of it.

Determine why you want to quit. Make a list of all the reasons why you want to quit . This will help you become clear about your decision to quit. You'll want to refer to this list later. If you tempted to smoke. For example your list might say something like : I want to quit smoking so i can run and keep up with my son during soccer practice, have more energy, be alive to see youngest grandchild get married, or save money.

First of thanks for every suggestion. I slowly over the years became a smoker. I became aware of my addiction. I tried quiting several timer, but every time I would come back to it and smoke even more.

I tried two things so far:

1. Fully stoping to smoke
2. Gradually reducing

But it backfired every time. How did you stop?

I'm a light smoker who smoke about 1-3 cigarettes everyday in average. I think everything is fine as long as not too much. Even drinking too much water could treat your kidney's health. I think it's fine if you can reduce your cigarette consumption.

But if you still want to fully quit smoking, you can try my friend's method. Some of my friends are managed to quit smoking after switch to vapor and then fully stop smoking cigarette and vapor. At the beginning, they're addicted to vapor after switched from cigarette but as the time goes by, they got bored to vapor and finally they stop smoking both cigarette and vapor.

It is not easy to stop what you have been addicted to. But when it  comes to the issue of life one needs to put in what it would take to stop it
Alright, there's no harm on trying why don't you eat candy instead of smoking for you to be able to stop smoking? As far as well all know smoking is dangerous to your health. And if you have faith in your self that you can do it just do it.

Basically, smoking is a habit, you just need to divert it, try to replace it by eating chewing gum

Replacing one addiction with another is not a very good thing, but in this case I would rather approve. Nicotine gums are quite harmless, at least when compared to the cigarettes. It is like replacing heroin with methadone.

To quit smoking you must expel the cigarette out of thought. Tension, usually, men smoked every time stress. Instead, every time you feel tired, you should listen to music or watch your favorite TV show so your body forgets to smoke. Exercise, exercise helps reduce the nicotine load, and helps to produce good serotonin and dopamine for the brain. Exercise and other sports can help the body to be healthy, extra energy.

I'm not a smoker but i know someone who cannot stop this addiction. It's true that quitting smoking is very difficult as it may lead to severe psychological disorder. It is advisable to stop gradually than to quit abruptly. You have to have discipline and motivation, think of the illness and the negative effects in your health in order for you to stop.

First of all, a person must decide to quit smoking and understand the reason for this decision. While in the head there is no clear reason - why should I quit smoking - no book will help you. Himself and only himself.

Keeping busy is a great way to stay smokefree on your quit day. Being busy will help you keep your mind off smoking and distract you from cravings.
Think about trying some of these activities:
Exercise.
Get out of the house for a walk.
Chew gum or hard candy.
Keep your hands busy with a pen or toothpick, or play a game in the QuitGuide app.
Drink lots of water.
Relax with deep breathing.
Go to a movie.
Spend time with non-smoking friends and family.
Go to dinner at your favorite smokefree restaurant

any tips on how to distract yourself from eating while quitting?

To be honest, I am having difficulties on how stop smoking. I have tried a lot of things but I just cant stop it. What I am doing is to just try to gradually decrease my consumption everyday. I started with 10 pcs per day then I was able to decrease it by 2-3 per day. I will try to minimize it to 1-2  per day until I cab completely stop it. Thanks on the tips on this thread. I'll make use of it.
