http://finance.yahoo.com/news/9-ways-kids-smarter-money-100050132.html

This article doesn't talk about bitcoin but it got me thinking how to get kinds interested in bitcoin within the context of appropriate money management lessons. Think of we could teach kinds about it. The growth, the adoption, the inflation and retraction. The allure of the "internet money".

...what other ideas come to mind?
Teaching kids with bitcoin is really hard for them to understand things with bitcoin first if you are going to ask them if they really interested to learn about bitcoin currencies but if there minds is not yet fully developed then they like thinking that bitcoin is a fun games and they can really lose money at the end.
Why would we teach our kids in bitcoin when it does not help them at all, I think bitcoin is only for matured people as we know how to do it right when we transact online and we consider this as investment, kids have no job therefore they have no money to buy bitcoins.

maybe i will teach my kids to do faucet like play games with bitcoin reward and i will explain step by step what is bitcoin, how to get it, and what we gonna do with our bitcoin. i think we can teach kid by doing some play but don't teach them for playing gambling.

This is a great idea on how you are going to teach kids with bitcoin and for sure they are going to enjoy that. And make some other competition , so if you are teaching 2-3 kids make some tournament for them whoever is going to have the most claimed faucets and highest satoshi's will be rewarded by you. And that is going to make them learn more about bitcoins and encourage.
The kids you will be teaching on claiming faucets is a bad idea, first off they won't find it entertaining as they will be confused with a lot of ads on the side and pretty much everywhere near the claim button, also the kids would find it hard to accomplish doing the anti-bots before claiming the bitcoin. The end result will be having kids confused about bitcoin and they will just do other things in the internet. Even me when I started I nearly quit because of confusion. It is better not to teach this kids early.

Teaching kids   about bitcoin would  be a hard thing to do for sure because  their  knowledge into  things  isnt  enough  to  absorb informations  regarding  on bitcoin thats why  its better to teach them when they are  old enough  to understand things. Because bitcoin is complex and you couldnt  teach it directly into young minds.

Plan to pay my children with it for chores and other things they volunteer to do, but deserved to be paid for. Hopefully they will use it as a substitute for the dollars that are harder to come by since dear old dad is supplying dimes on dimes on dimes for chores and other things.

I don't know. I think Bitcoin is going to explode when the children of today turn into the young adults of tomorrow and can unleash the full power of the currency they have been given, legally and start forming companies around it and everything. I'd love to be part of that new paradigm and hope to keep up-to-date enough with crypto to give my kids an advantage in the area over all the other people within 100 miles of us. Blockchain technology is the future. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere, ever. It's been audited and attacked 24/7 for over 7 years now... it's a tank.

I would explain to them that it is digital money with a rising price. I would set up a wallet to them and show them how addresses work and how to get payments and send payments.

For earning, I would probably give them some games to play trough which they can earn some Bitcoins. It would be fun for the kids and useful for making some easy money.

Just teach him how to create a wallet and transfer $10 for him, maybe he can hold until the price reach 10x  Grin Cheesy
Yeap kids can learn everything on internet, but a little push is good sometimes to show some direction.

I like that idea. Kids nowadays are intelligent and smart. With their access to internet using PC's or mobile phones they are familiar how internet works. Giving them some bitcoin to spend,is a good start. BUT,dont give it regularly you might get bankrupt haha Oh,monitor them also where they spend their coins, they might be hook to gambling or some addicting games.

Yeah, it is not advisable to teach kids on bitcoin since as a child, we are not into getting profit when we are holding money right ? We just want to buy stuffs which makes us happy. So, I recommend to observe first your sibling if they are interested on making some profit before you engage in teaching them. So, they will not find it hard to adjust from this kind of doings.

It's fine to teach your kids a few basics about bitcoins.. but of course we have to consider their own personal interests. Maybe when they grow old a little and develop some sense of responsibilities then that's the time for them to learn about  bitcoins.

well i don't think we should even consider teaching kids about currencies in the first place. there are a lot of things that kids needed to learn and bitcoin should be one of them yet. kids nowadays have too much information to digest everyday when they go to school so i think teaching them about bitcoin is not advisable at all.

I would say it's best to teach them the same way you teach them about money. Except for the bits about security. Cheesy
Kids are able to pick things up quickly anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard.
I do not think that you should really teach your kids about Bitcoin unless you really see that they are interested and ask you about it all the time.
But if they do not care then let them focus on sports and school because those two are more important.

I guess that is fine if you are going to teach about bitcoins so that their knowledge are going to become more on the technology.

But don't ever teach them on how to earn bitcoins, because when they try to learn how to earn bitcoins while they are still kids, possibly that their earnings are going to be used in gambling.

And even worst if they are really curious and they are able to search about deep web, maybe they are going to be involved.

You guys have got this all wrong. You think of kids like retards, who don't understand anything. If thwyre interested, they'll learn. If they're not, don't force it down their throats. I'm telling you this as a kid who likes bitcoin.

Also as a minor, I want people to understand and respect the fact that if a kid likes or hates something, go with it. Don't fight.

The best way to teach a kid that's interested however, is to try and get them to understand how it works.

sometimes it is hard to teach an adult, so you must know how difficult the kids if teached about bitcoin. kids will easily understand about the game. I think not a good time for kids to know about bitcoin, let them get a more important lesson in school than about bitcoin.
It is not the person we teach who was the hard time to learn, sometimes we need also to understand that it depends also on the person who teach, now if we are teaching kids who are not matured enough to comprehend the complex of bitcoin, then I would not agree with that, we need to teach him at the right age.

i think you should keep your children away from bitcoin, they should only give importance to their study, because if they start earning bitcoin then will not concentrate to their study, therefore they do not need to learn about bitcoin.
Yes i agree with you op that never teach children about bitcoin. Because almost children now know how to use cellphone loptop tablet or any gadgets for gaming so if they teach about bitcoin especially to those going in school they will not concentrate their study coz they think about bitcoin and they want to earn money.
It's too early to teach kids about bitcoin, it should be a process and kids should learn the basics first, they need to focus on their studies and maybe when they become like a teenager and they have more matured thinking that is the right timing to tell them.

You are right, teaching kids about bitcoin would be  difficult since they are not mature enough to understand complicated things about bitcoin. As you said maybe in their  teenage years it would do because they are already aware  on the things around us especially on  tech aspects.
