If I am on 1 week losing, I will not gamble for some time to calm down myself. It is hard to forget my losses so I need time to take a rest. Maybe I will still play gambling but not in the near because I already much money which I can not be sure how much money I used at that time. Yes, that is a bit emotional and makes me feels too sad and can not move on easily.

But I will still trying to convince myself that is the result that I can get if I gamble excessively. In this way, I want to always control myself and limiting my funds so I don't losing so much money.

Betting is not fun while losing. If you are gambling or betting but started to lose than you are expecting, it is better you stop gambling at that time and have time for other things that you enjoy.

What I prefer to do has been not to go more than my gambling budget. I disciplined myself with that and it is helping.
Good advice, but in this case it is easy to say but very difficult to do because losing in gambling can cause yourself to become more emotional, especially if you use money that should not be used. For a budget or limit of funds used in gambling, i personally think it is also quite difficult to do especially if the money is in a cex or wallet that can be withdrawn at any time, even when you don't have money anymore it often comes to mind to borrow from friends to make another deposit and think that it can restore the previous defeat.
We also have to put into consideration how long the individual has been gambling and his gambling history. Just like everyone wants to win, they should also expect losses too. If he has been winning before, feeling all emotional and taking some drastic decisions just because he lost shows his level of risks tolerance. The only solution is for gamblers to know their limits and gamble within their limits only. Yea, if they know that a loss from a particular game they intend to play would cause them so much pain, then they should avoid that game and go for what they would be comfortable with. Some gamblers make things difficult for themselves.

Gambling is impossible without losing, because it is as natural outcome of a gambling session as winning. You need to learn to treat losses more cold-bloodedly and enjoyment to get in the process of the game and not only when you win. If gambling brings you negative emotions, it is better to abandon this entertainment and do something more relaxed and less risky.

Playing with borrowed money should be a taboo, something that should never be allowed. On the other hand, if you stick to a small betting strategy, even a week-long losing streak can be something that won't hurt your bankroll too much. If your bankroll is $100 and you bet no more than 1% (in this case, $1), then even if you make 5 bets in a week and lose them all, it's not a problem, even if you lose 10 bets in a row. And if you don't follow this, your losses will be much greater.

I've been into sports betting for quite a while, but times like these are pretty tough. Even though I've experienced this before, it still keeps coming back like feeling a bit emotional, losing focus, and sometimes gambling more than I should. Anyway, have you had the same experience? How do you convince yourself to move on and still enjoy gambling?

One week.is nothing.  Ive had weeks lomg amd even months lomg losing streaks before.  Its called bad luck.  But theres also times when you feel like you cant lose.  In the emd if you are having fun and its money you can afford to lose than you are good.  One of my key rules is dont chase loses.  Meaning if you lose $100 dont just bet $100 on the next game because you want that money back.

Thanks, man, I appreciate your advice. Looks like your experience is on another level, haha.

It would be good if you could specify if you have been betting sports betting for a long time, if you are a regular winning player (although it is understood that you are), and if so, what level of winnings we are talking about. I spent many years winning money in poker, between high hundreds at the peak and low hundreds. And I can tell you that a week's variance is nothing, which I don't think is that much different in poker than in sports betting. And if we go to the level of professionals who play the highest levels it is not uncommon for them to swallow a whole year of losses every 5 or 10.

Of course, losing streak (and, what can I say, even single losses) create negative emotions and unpleasant sensations. Did you think that with experience you would have some semblance of immunity to such long losses and that it would be easy to perceive? Of course, it is not so.

Any gambler has experience of losses, but you turned out to be, hmm, damn lucky in terms of duration. I have not had this and will not have it. Btw, I didn't convince myself to continue after the loss. You should do the same. Why do something that doesn't bring pleasure? And doesn't bring profit. You should stop getting carried away with gambling. At least for a while. After a break, perhaps you will return the pleasure of the gambling process. But what you have lost, you can't get back.

You don't have to wait for anyone to tell you to give it a break, you just have to go on either a long or short break. Having a losing streak can mess with your emotions and this can make you incur more losses. I have also had some messed up days that's why I decided to give it a break. This is the ability some gamblers don't have, it's actually takes a level of discipline to do this. Gambling constantly especially when you are losing is a display of lack of control. Take some time off it, find something else to do to keep you busy or distracted. Clear your head then get back into the game after a while.

For me the problem lies with us, if we are able to control ourselves, ending the bet is a wise choice. but if otherwise, be prepared for the scenario of losing a lot of money.
And that's just it, if you allow a  losing streak to get hold of your emotions, and you're now making decisions based on emotions, you're bound to shift to responsible gambling, spend more than your budget and still end up on unhappy because there is no guarantee that you're going to win. I know it's not easy as human beings to be on a losing streak and be tough, you're definitely going to feel it, knowing or unknowingly, you're going to see yourself acting different and more gloomy.

Hence, it is wise that you spoke up here, so you get motivation and advice from other gamblers, then you can equally talk to a friend physically, so you can get the right push to just pause at that moment.  Pause take a deep breath, tell yourself this is not your winning time, and come back later, or try a different game, but take your, and take your hands off the bet that is giving you a losing streak at the moment. It's not going to be easy, but it's wise you do it to avoid sorry stories later on.

Yes, I have experienced a losing streak in my bets. Previously I was very lucky in the parlay bets that I made. But after that not only 1 week, maybe almost 2 weeks I was in a difficult situation with continuous losses and very few winning bets. What I did was stop for a week in any gambling activity. So I just work and do housework. I didn't decide to stop, so I came back when my state of mind was better. I don't bet Parlay impulsively anymore.

I think almost everyone has experienced the same thing as you, and it really feels bad when you are on a losing streak. This condition is even worse when gambling more than it should be. I personally have experienced it too, when I realized to stop for a while and try to calm myself down like doing other activities to entertain myself, and in the end found the importance of self-limitation, so that it can make the situation better, and get a sense of security when starting to gamble again, and this certainly makes it comfortable to continue enjoying in gambling.
When you’re comfortable with your limits and don’t let losses dictate your emotions, you can keep enjoying it without the emotional toll.

Exactly, emotional stress enters when you exceed your limit or when you start counting your losses and sum it up to point that you realized that you are losing enough that exceeds to your limits even if you play a bankroll amount that within your limits range.

I always disregard my previous gambling game whenever I’m playing for the day. It’s always a fresh start for me so that I will think about my previous losses that can affect my mind while playing or even after playing when in loss.

Emotional problem intensifies if you let your realization sum up all your losses even though that bankroll is what you can afford to lose at that moment.

I think we all have almost the same problems and experiences even in different situations and contexts, but what you share based on your experience in this thread is a common problem. you even said that this situation is not the first time, but at moments like this it is sometimes very annoying. what is clear is that in a situation like this there is no moment that we can enjoy in gambling, the problem is that we are being bullied by emotions that make our feelings chaotic. well, if someone is unable to control themselves, they often get carried away and sometimes bet more than usual. this is normal, when we are in a situation of angry emotions, we tend to act to force the will to bet again in order to recover previous losses. the lucky ones can recover or even double their winnings, unfortunately the unlucky ones lose a lot of money. for me the problem lies with us, if we are able to control ourselves, ending the bet is a wise choice. but if otherwise, be prepared for the scenario of losing a lot of money.

Though it's not really easy for someone who is experiencing a losing streak in gambling to reduce their dedication to gambling activities because you will basically be thinking about how much you have lost already and how you can recover your losses even if you don't make further profits again but what you should do is to be calm, then that time you normally devote for gambling you will use that time and engage in other things that will distract your attention from gambling, before you realize you will start reducing your engagement in gambling activities.
On a norm, no one will feel good that they have been experiencing a losing streak even though you gamble for fun because within those periods, you have lost a whole lot of money that you can use for other productive things. The reason why you are feeling emotional about your losses is simply because you are always occupied with the idea of winning while you gamble that is why it is becoming painful to see that you have been on losing streak for a week now.
You can also decide to take a break for now, it will make you feel better such that when you return back to gambling you will feel relieved because you will begin to imagine how much you could have lost why you took some days off from gambling and it will also give you a good sense of understanding to know that you ought to only gamble with an amount you can be able to bear if losses occurs in the course of chasing winnings.

Gambling is for entertainment, not for making money. If gambling is for entertainment, then you should not gamble again and again after losing because it will be more painful than entertainment. I have never experienced such an experience before and even if I lost one or two bets, I still took a break there because I know that anything extra is not good. If I start again after losing, my analysis will not be very good and I may lose later. Moreover, I participate in matches where I can predict the win. When you lose, why don't you take a break? You should definitely take a break because at this time your analysis is not going very well which is why you are losing again and again.

Can you share the frequency of your betting like how many times do you bet per day and how often. This is always the problem of experienced bettor when they are facing this issue due to the low quality of analysis just to cover more bets.

Anyway, have you had the same experience?
I never experienced this long winning streak since I usually stop with a long interval whenever I experienced complete wipe out of my bankroll.

One week of a loosing streak in sports betting - quite a negative achievement. Its good that OP decided to share that and possibly take a pause from gambling. Even if he wasnt chasing losses, but perhaps wasnt good at making right predictions, having a pause is a good strategical move. That pause is needed to get rid of irritation from losses and making wrong decisions; its should "restart" his luck, focus, self confidence.

Do not make a bet on every event, make a bet on events where you are 100% confident that you'll win the bet. When I first started, I was placing bets on every event and I was also considering the odds of games. It was a huge mistake, odds mean nothing, believe me. Then I tried to slow down and place bets on matches where I was confident. For example, if there is Barcelona vs Real Madrid, I wouldn't place a bet but if there was Barcelona vs Valencia, I would place a bet.
I also started watching every football match in La Liga, Seria A, BBVA and Premier League, I was reading lots of articles about teams, and I was trying to learn about the footballers of each team, how they were performing, what issues they head, what was the history of previous matches between opponent teams and etc. It's not easy to make money from sports betting, you need to spend lots of time on TV and sports news websites but I'd say that it's fun and sometimes rewarding but be ready for some loss too, you can't win always.

I don't chase losses, I think that's the difference. Whenever I put my bets on the NBA, win or lose, I won't go back and bet on other sports even though I know a bit about them.
Why? That is where the problem comes in. We are trying too hard to claim back what was taken from us and our mind is clouded by it and that's when we make big mistakes. We thought we did our best to analyze the game but we truly didn't because our purpose is revenge and win back what was lost.
Stick with one or two sports. That way it won't hurt so much when you bet. I suggest slowly trying to win it all back by small bets, an amount that you can afford to lose and maybe that will ease you up and clear your mind so you will have better results.

It's good that you are already aware of the situation. I think you are about to open a dangerous door if you continue that way. Try to take a break from betting to clear your mind (if you can still handle it), or discuss this with a counselor. Maybe you are just stressed at work or in life, and you focus your energy on gambling as an escape. I hope you can move forward and continue enjoying betting responsibly once you come back after your break (or you can even stop playing if you don't enjoy it anymore)

I think this is good advice, taking a break is very beneficial and not just with Gambling.
It allows us to reset and when we feel its time to get back into it we come back
with a refreshed view and also allowing for some contemplation on our previous
approaches to gambling and what led to losses.

I have found before while on a bit of a losing streak its more beneficial to stop
rather than get sucked into actions like chasing losses and not thinking straight
because the focus is wrong.

This is a simple approach which my not necessarily work for people with serious
addiction problems.
