Some say when you can't sleep you should take coffee, it will help you relax and you will fall asleep easy.

Sounds counterintuitive but I remember occasionally feeling sleepy whenever I drank coffee... didn't relax me at thesame time though.    I suspect the coffee was reacting badly with another foods/substances in my body and making me feel tired, sleepy, weak, headache, etc, Other times the coffee works as expected - made me awake and active.

I do not depend on it these days to keep me awake. I naturally stay awake and active without the help of things like coffee, unless I want to task my self more to do things when I need rest.

I suffer from insomnia, I don’t even really enjoy alcohol but I find one shot of whiskey before bed can help me.
If you’re not willing to do that then maybe meditation will help you, deep breathing etc.

If you can't sleep then why bother trying? In future get up when you wake up and stay up.The longer the day,the shorter the night Cool

Do something to be able to sleep.. there is nothing to do at this time, why cant you sleep?

Do some breathing excercises. If this wont work, Try consulting your doctor. Maybe you have insomnia, a sleeping disorder. I hope you are well.

Not been able to sleep is really a bad one, it can be so frustrating. What I normally do is to watch movies and not just any type of movies but the boring ones and with time I find myself drifting off to sleep. I hope this helps you

This is a good idea and other thing what can be done is that read some books which you do not like or some subject which is not of your kind. This may also help you to start getting sleep. Another thing start working out hard because of tiredness also your body wants to rest so you can get better sleep.

I also had sleeping problems last year. It's one of the worst things because it will ruin your hole day if you don't get a good night if sleep. One thing I noticed that works pretty well for me, either sleep with an open window or at least let in a lot of fresh air right before you go to bed. I could sleep much faster with fresh air

I use to have a sleep disorder and my doctor told me about something called the 4-7-8 breathing technique.  It helped me a lot and now I don’t have problems to sleep.

It is also one of my problem I have trouble sleeping it is really hard for me to fall asleep sometimes it really takes too much hours for me to fall asleep,
That is why I have irregular time of sleep sometimes, It is really troublesome because there are times that I would only sleep for about a couple of hours then I would have trouble falling back to sleep again.

Its Almost 7 Years now , have you taken your Sleep already ?Hope you did ..

When i was Younger , this is the same problem i faced but now ? In just 4 minutes after getting into bed ? i'm already Snoring .

Maybe because i keep mY mind and Body active all day long so when Night comes , my bed is already encouraging me to Lay and sleep.

I had this once upon a time. Just put things in order in your life - eat right, exercise, do not stress. And today just do not sleep and do some business - tomorrow you will definitely fall asleep!  Wink

LOL believe it was not effective even when I was a child. I have do that. But as I said, it's ineffective and unsuccessful, even worse when you forget the count, you will only be stressed by trying to remember your count again, until finally you are awake until morning arrives.  Cheesy Grin
since 6 y/o this was the advise i received from many , but the problem is i Don't Know whats Next to 100 so i need to Go back to 1 and think Harder again , so i couldn't sleep more. Grin Grin Grin

sleep disorders often occur when your body is tired or under stress...
The best solution when you are stressed or tired is to take a warm shower before going to bed so your body will automatically respond to relax and you will sleep easily.

You should watch a comedy or call a psychiatrist. People with insomnia symptoms are often very stressful, you need to relax every day.

Why cant you sleep? Maybe you just woke up? For you to be able to sleep, try to do something that will  consume energy for you and make you feel tired. Then try sleeping again

I think of it as the other effect. When someone is on graveyard shift or wants to remain awake at night, drinking coffee will make you remain awake.

But it depends on how strong the brew is with the coffee you intake. Maybe for some people, drinking one will make them fall asleep quickly.
