Funny seeing this now after a year and after ETH's value has nose dived.

In this scenario, you'd obviously you'd have been better off with a car. Too bad for your girlfriend now, but just hodl and wait and maybe we'll see if the car can be turned into a lambo. Hopefully by next year when ETH goes to proof-of-stake you'll have your redemption. 🚗

Funny dude @ my bolded in your sentence as quoted. Anyway, he made a very dicey choice with ETH. I don't trust that coin that much to put my money on it. It's just like ripple. But with Bitcoin, I can buy and hodl even when the price goes momentarily crashing I don't panic because I know it will certainly rise again. Bitcoin is a sure bet.

Although, this issue have been talk about long ago but the "good of you" you said draw my attention because there are better of doing things rather than selling ones girlfriend car out of greed because anyone who invest in crypto through loan, selling girlfriend car definitely won't invest the amount he can afford to lost.

Many of you say i am crazy or stupid and i should be shaking right now... but you are very wrong.. in fact, I am absolutely not nervous or worried. if you read my later posts, you will find i invested my ETH on 4 altcoins, and the value in ETH (not in US$) didnt changed much for these coins. Anyway, i assume risks and consequences. ANd the big difference among us, is i am not a mercenary like many of you, that just followed the hype.. i am talking about them who are here for few fast bucks, .. i am different because i am for the longterm as i BELIEVE in blockchain.. and i didnt took this decision as if i was blind or stupid! I did my propper research long time ago, and strongly think crypto will be a standard in the future.. maybe not tomorrow, or next week, or month.. also not next year.. i am not in a hurry! i think i got everything i need to live...it took most of my life to realize material things wont make me happier.. i dont need much anymore because i found i was already happy Grin

.. I am not interested about lambos, mansions,... I am more interested in a more fair world for everyone. The big fishes (venture capital, banks...) have their profits being cutted, and this makes me really happy! I think you are too rash to make the decision to sell your girlfriend's car, just to invest and buy some eth in exchange if later the investment you are successful and get a profit you and your girlfriend can have fun and enjoy it, but you must remember if there are two big risks that you have to face if you experience a loss in investing, besides you must be prepared to lose money and you also have to be ready to be decided by your girlfriend and find a new girls friend. The decision you take is really smart, though for some people it would be a reckless action.
Why I say smart ,the first reason the prospect of crypto is really promising especially for long-term investment.
The second reason car prices will continue to shrink if stored, while crypto is likely to increase in value.
The third reason if there is a loss, for example maybe the ETH coin goes down at least not too worried

That's a big risk though. By selling the car, you already know that you can loose that amount of money when you put it and invest it in crypto. Make sure to put more effort in the trading, the amount of your money would not matter if you dont work hard to make it bigger. As of now, prices are not that high to gain enough profit.

In my opinion, this is a very crazy and ridiculous idea because it is very risky if you sell a car just to buy more ETH, if you don't understand speculation about a good ETH selling price, I think this is a big problem because you will get a loss for this, but if you understand price speculation, this is the right way for you, compared to borrowing from a bank just to buy more ETH I think you are more than crazy and silly. Good for you. I bet at $1400 a lot of people thought it was too late. But when price started to drop and around $400 I was even convinced that the project was actually headed in a direction I liked, I went it. But your decision has now failed. The value of ETH has now decreased by a lot compared to the end of 2018. I believe that in the next few years, the market will remain the same price as more and more investors are leaving the market. because of the whale's intolerance. You should really review your portfolio before the worst happens.

OP could be very successful, however only in case if Ethereum will not stop it's developing. There are a lot of new projects with good prospectives, and probably some of them could be more useful for crypto industry in future.
So I think author should watch on market all the time to not pass better opportunities.
