Good recommendation but indeed we need to do our own research to determine which coin is good for the long term,
what is clear is that I prefer coins in the top 20 or 10 for me it is safer and the risk is not too big,
for the coin meme itself I don't see it as the right choice for investment

Depends from what pair he bought ETH, if he bought ETH with ETH/BTC pair, he still in floating loss right now. If it was ETH/USDT, he already made huge profit. Actually if you invest in almost all crypto since 2018, you already make huge profit now, not only in ETH.

Duh everyone has opinions about ETH, even BTC everyone has opinions.

For me, the only safe bet in crypto is BTC, everything else is a huge risk. But of course if you want to take a completely safe route, then you should even consider Bitcoin to be a risk because that's what it is. The high price now shouldn't fool you, it can any time drop to near worthless. I don't think it's possible but that doesn't mean I'm blind to probability.

Smart contracts are probably the best bet long-term. They will have a big impact on society in the future. So I would say go with the best smart contract choice, which is Ethereum. Maybe dip into some of its competitors as well, but ETH is still the strongest project in this sector and is developing well on the road to eventual PoS.

We shouldn't completely rely on the other people choice we should do our own choice in the market, without researching about the coins and their credibility it is completely waste investing in cryptocurrency. So always try to focus on a potential coin which has huge credibility in the market.

following other isnt bad because we can also learn on them especially if you are a newbie on the crypto scene and you dont know what coins is the best to hodl you can just easily ask the experts on this forum or follow the experts advice on social medias like twitter ,there are real crypto experts on twitter and they give thier opinion from time to time .

anyway , etherium is one example of a long term altcoin because i already observed that etherium takes alot of time to grow .
