Over the last twelve months I have seen an endless number of altcoins that promised to be the next "big thing" in the world of cryptocurrencies, and practically the vast majority of them have failed in this brief period of time, losing a lot of its initial value and being subject to the fluctuations of the bitcoin price to determine its own price.
Therefore I still believe that the only safe bet in this difficult market is the bitcoin, and all other cryptocurrencies have only shown to have some speculative value in the very short term.

In terms of altcoins, ethereum is always the winner, it was actually the first alternative to bitcoin so that gives a lot of influence to it, after eth I would choose litecoin as it has shown a lot of reliability in the past.
I believe that the best option and the alt that has passed the test of time is ETH, that currency is not only a good investment financially, it also has a very solid platform and a community that supports it, I still see a lot of potential to ETH so I think it is a good investment, you can also go for other top 10 like ripple or tron, but I still prefer ETH.
If I am to choose altcoins for long term, I think I will prefer coins that are built to as a platform to support other tokens, typical are ethereum, EOS,WAVES,NEO etc.
Interesting decision (because a lot of peoples scared about this market now). So, i want to share with you my portfolio for a holding. The first is - Midex (MDX). They have own exchange and their token will growing in near future. Another good is NPXS, REMME, Metronome.

Advice is quite good but it doesn't take into account the specific nuances of a particular situation of the person. I see in this online industry there are too many people want to hold some altcoin. at the moment cryptocurrency market is not Pump It So too many people want to hold some best coin. I think if you visit coinbase and you can get only Btc,bch,eth,etc,ltc as I know this four coin is very perfect for long time hold. You can visit coinbase and buy this coin for long time hold. At the moment I hold those coin because I know it will be better future if you hold this coin.
My top picks will be Cardano, EOS, ripple, NEO, Ontology. If you are buying altcoins it will be always good if you split your investment in certain percentage for each of the altcoin you buy that way there will be few chances of loss and more chances of profit.
Same here! I hodl some btc and eth but on the other hand market is really convenient to buy more alts recently. So, i’m open for new ideas. I wanna buy a few promising altcoin to hodl long-term.

for altcoins you can choose for long term investment is ethereum. ethereum can be used for long-term or short-term investments. but if you choose cheap altcoin, you can invest in neo.
I suggest you can buy some altcoins that are very suitable to hold for a long period of time, the coin is; bitcoin, Binance Coin (BNB) and the last is LocalCoinSwap (LCS).
I would always pick more reliable coins like ethereum because there are so many new projects with a vague reputation which can be too risky to invest in.And also tezos, waves and wan would be another great oppurtunity for long term as well.
