Long term holding suits to FantasyGoldCoin $FGC. They have a continuous project and partnership with eSports will keep this coin sustained for a long time. when exactly that time.? if you are going to get married for 2-3 years, I think bitcoin and ethereum are great for you to buy and hold. I still believe bitcoin will go month. even higher than the peak price at the end of 2017. so altcoin terbaim to hold is ethereum, waves, neo, and trx. because I see their growth.
What I recommend for you to hold long term is Kucoin Shares because they give their holders a daily dividends on every coin on the exchange a percentage of it's profits. A great passive income and you will never need to monitor it long time.
You can try Ripple, most of experts are saying that it is quite undervalued right now and so it would show itself on the stage soon. But also I would suggest you to diversified investments in order to not lose everything at once.
Crypto is the most risky in the money market and the growth of the sub-money market is much more than the volume of money.
Just buy some ETh and watch your money grow. If you can take more risk, buy some of TRON also.
You can rely on Ethereum, Stellar, NEO, Monero and electronium. These coins are the best fit for your long-term investment and secure your future especially for the budget for your wedding.

It is possible that the Altcoins for this summer will fall in price to Bitcoin. But still I keep my Altcoins. 
Buy coins in ICO but its bit risky if you are not an expert so go for the ones who are already listed in reliable exchanges, and always buy under $1 in dip
I suggest you hold something that is quite popular and has build up a good reputation. Ethereum is one of the best choice to hold long term. Not only it is popular it is also one of the most common platform among ico. Ethereum is also known as the queen of cryptocurrency and you jist can't go wrong with that.
Although one could invest in established coins like BTC, ETH, LTC, XVG, XMR, TRX etc. but I am always in hunt of hidden gems. Recently I have found such a gem.

I think the best thing for you to do right now is to go to coin market cap and look for top 50 coin and do research on them and find the ones that fit into your vision then you can make your investment on them.

Hold the Top 10 coins, and each time you invest more do so in the current top 10 coins.
Pretty simple, just buy Ethereum if you really want to hold an altcoin. I would suggest you to hold Bitcoin, but from your message I see that you are not interested in that, so Ethereum is by far the best altcoin out there.
If you are looking for a long term hold then I will recommend DeepOnion. They have some of the most demanding technology and active development. Not only this, they have strong marketing team along with the wonderful community
For long-term investments, you can choose the options Ethereum and Ripple, have an excellent potential for growth in the long term.
I agree that ETH has a very great potential. But it seems to me that investing in ripple for a long time can be very dangerous. This coin is good only for daily trades and I would not keep it for several months.
