Well, my advice to is to prepare for the top solid coins in coinmarketcap which are preferrable in a long term hold and as proven for many years maintaining on that spot having a stable position on that rank of altcoins. Check and research is most important to be able to choose which of this coins is the best.
I think that you should pay attention on such coin: Ethereum, Neo, ripple, OMG, ADA. I would still advise the EOC, but he is influenced by such phenomenon as pump, so wait and you can buy it.

during this crisis in the market better to hold bitcoin ethereum, litecoin, and zcash, or any altcoins which are already proven their power of being survival in every time that crisis took place in the market.
If you are looking for a long term hold, it will be better to go with projects that has been here for few years. New projects are riskier for long term hold. ETH is probably the best hold for long term. They are adopting new technologies soon to solve scalability issues. Also ETH is currently much down from its previous ATH. i will suggest to you ETHER,EOS,,NEO and RIPPLE,this coins will surely rise high in they future,though they cryptocurrecy market is very volatile now,but after they corrections there will be rise in values of those coins.
I would have bought NEO, maybe in a few years it will have a good price on the stock exchange. For the present I do not know what to buy yet, but it is better to add a few more coins to the portfolio
