It's really a tempting period for Bitcoin investors considering the constant dip we have been experiencing for a while. I was once adviced to sell my coin when I had an issue that needed money urgently but I objected it took me quite a long time to hodl and loosing them now isn't a healthy idea at all.

If I sell off my coin I might not be opportunied to buy back the coin at the exact rate I bought the previous one and had to come to a concrete decision of not selling my coin no matter the consequence. Yes it's going to be a different story if it turns out negative but what if it turns out positive. Vertually everything about life had two faces been the negative outcome or the positive there is hardly any in-between and so for me I rather take the risk and face what ever comes my way in the near future because risk is a necessity as far as investment is involved.

If it turns out positive certainly the joy would be all mine and certainly a portion of it would be rubbed on people around and if it turns out the opposite direction then I bear my loss alone. It's really my cross to bear and making this decision was out of a deep quite time I had while I was wondering if I go ahead to cash out or I maintain my hodl and from all indication I just have to maintain my hodl till I get my reward no matter the manner it would appear.

I understand your point especially if you were holding a small amount of BTC so it is quite regrettable to sell your BTC in which you hold for a very long time but if you badly needed then there's no need to hesitate. I highly suggest building an emergency fund so that in case bad things happened and urgent money is needed then you have spare money to cover up your needs.

Health matters more than your bitcoins, with the current era that we are in right now, I think you have options to actually sell some of your bitcoins and gain it back by joining campaigns in this forum or do investments, in that way, you won't starve nor lose any bitcoin, having 1 plan is not gonna be enough and viable, it's like you waited for years to gain profit from what you are hodling just to pay for your medical bill, it ain't worth, you have several options, don't let starvation be an option.

i guess the OP will change his mindset if his tummy is already in rebellious mode. there are better ways how to approach this rather than sacrificing yourself. you can always find money or earn those satoshis, but you can never go back if your health suffer owed to this decision. and if you have other family members that are relying to you, i think that's a different call already.

Well, I need to stay alive to enjoy my bitcoin and I need not solely depend on bitcoin for my daily financial needs to avoid selling off. Selling a little fraction of my bitcoin to take care of myself is never a bad idea for me, a bad idea would be selling all and hoping to buy back in the future.
When you do have other source of income then its your choice to make on hodling which we do know that it could really benefit out on future years to come.No need to starve yourself if you
do know that you do have something to spend.Your riches cant really be drag down into your grave so better be wise when it comes to your health because it isnt something worth
that you are sacrificing it just because you do want to make more profits if you do have other source then why would need for you to suffer or compromise something specially your own health?
It isnt really worth imho.

I have never heard of such affection for Bitcoin. Holding bitcoin is a good thing but no one will support you to hold bitcoin with difficulty. Learn to love yourself first anyway thenI Love Bitcoin. Remember that Bitcoin can never be bigger than your life.
That's right, imagine what would happen if we actually kept the Bitcoin we had while we didn't have any more money to buy food?!  Hunger is certain, and over time it will hurt. And that will only make things more difficult.
If there is another option, holding Bitcoin and not selling it when the price drops is the right choice.  But if there is no other way, then what can we do but sell it.

The market is always volatile, rising and falling is normal. Why starve to see your money. LOL, this thought sucks. We can feed our bodies and start working to make up for the sold bitcoins. I do not choose to all in my assets in bitcoin because it makes me dizzy when I need money during bitcoin price drop. I always set aside a part of the cash to pay for my problems.

absolutely right you are because life is more important than money and bitcoin. We have to love ourselves first then we should think about others things like savings, times. Our valuable is worthless if we don't use it in our needy situations.

Sadly you see these blokes who rather go hungry than sell their coin, which for me is absolutely bizarre and ridiculous. Like I said before, I don't think this is a serious post worthy of being discussed other than the occasional mocking from the old timers of this community, even if ardent Bitcoin maximalists they might be. Even a hardcore Bitcoin player know when to sell some of his holdings and not preach the gospel of HODL. Yah, love yourself before loving Bitcoin is a good mantra here.

I think it is over thinking for bitcoin. Obviously bitcoin is valuable asset but it is not more than important to your life. If you are not be able to live then what's the value of your bitcoin.
Yep. It is too overthinking, life should be the priority. Bitcoin is important, but it is nothing compared with life. Having many Bitcoins will be useless if we got sick or cannot continue our life because of selfishness to keep it. In that situation, I surely will sell my Bitcoin for food or for anything needed to continue my life. My priority isn't always to be rich, be healthy or stay to live well is much more important than force to keep the Bitcoin asset.

That's the reason why we should take care of ourselves. Our bitcoin will not help us if we are not able to exist in this world. If I don't take any advantage from my bitcoin, then it's a worthless thing only.

I would never want to stay hungry rather than selling an amount of coins that I need. It is a really meaningless way of thinking in my opinion. I wouldn't prefer to borrow money from someone also just because that I don't want to sell my coins. You can do it once but not every time. You will have your needs in the end. You have to spend money on something to be able to live your life. One should never let this go off their mind. Otherwise, you can have also an addiction to Bitcoin and the situation can turn into a really frightening thing.

I also don't want to sell my bitcoins if the price drops very far, I will continue to hold my bitcoins until the bitcoin price rises higher. I will sell a few bitcoins that I have when I have made a lot of profit, and even then if there is an urgent need. I will hold my bitcoins for my future, I don't want to live hard in my old age and I also want to make my children happy in the future.
yes you are right, you have the same opinion as me, actually when we decided to buy BTC we wanted to keep it for a long time and this is also my savings, like you, i will buy BTC and leave it somewhere not for sale at the moment. until I'm old enough to retire or be able to leave it to our children.

You need food to survive for how long do you think you'll last without food because you decide bitcoins for them.

Imagine not eating for a month, I'm sure you'll start weakening your body and mind, and what's the point of Bitcoins stored in a wallet?
There's another possibility you ending up losing your memory because of weakness and losing all your bitcoins.
The consequences of not eating for almost a month at the expense of hodling Bitcoin is not advisable, better still there is the option of selling some of the coin to buy food and survive, personally I wouldn't try such especially having a family who depends on me for survival, I wouldn't want to voluntarily starve them when I had other alternative with Bitcoin, I believe it is easier says than done, when we with real financial challenges, the best option is to exchange Bitcoin to fiat so as to bail us out from the trouble.
Its exaggerated on saying about not eating almost a month? Do you know on how long a human being could last without eating? Maybe this do particularly talking about eating less or on several cases.

Staying hungry just because you dont tend to sell your bitcoin is never been a good decision to make. Investment would be totally useless when you are dead or able to have
serious illness just because of that dumb decision.

Decide on things which you do seem to be right but since its your money then its your choice!

It is completely unwise thing thing to do. Why would I want to prefer staying hungry over selling my Bitcoin? Do I want to die or have a low-quality life? Bitcoin investments shouldn't be seen as a vital thing for a person. It is like making an investment into gold or fiat. When you need money, you convert the needed amount. It is that simple. You shouldn't risk your life by doing such weird thing.

You are right, this is crazy, want to be hungry for bitcoin, if he dies bitcoin will be lost and cannot be brought when death, in investing we must always be realistic, I agree that bitcoin investment is not a priority because it does not guarantee us a profit, hopefully he sells soon bitcoin when no money and hungry.

Same thing in my mind. Rather than selling Bitcoin, I would rather find some gigs that will be paying me some fiat money or stablecoin to sustain because of my belief in this cryptocurrency. Same thing with the other ones that I’m bullish for now. Buy and hold for top marketcap coins like Bitcoin is the best strategy rather than doing day trading.

It makes me smile every time I read this topic name, because dbc23 never mentioned how long he is planning to hold bitcoin and what will be the price he plans to sell it. He plans to hold and that is it. Holding without purpose is silly.
Actually, I dont believe that he will really rather feel hunger and hold. I think that he can stay hungry for a week, but not more. During one week, bitcoins price never changes dramatically or multiplies several times. So he would feel hungry just to get several thousand dollars, if we take that he holds just 1 bitcoin.

Maybe just a post that would initiate a discussion. The OP might not want to disclose any further information about his plans and just boasted an impossible feat only possible for a robot going without food. I also don't believe that he will do a hunger strike of some sort since this is purely metaphorical, as in he would rather go hungry than sell his Bitcoin. Metaphorically he likes to suffer the lack of food in his body instead of selling his Bitcoins so he can buy food. Good ness gracious!

I can’t remember the price rate we had around July, but I think somewhere between $30k and $40k price. So if you have Hodl’ed till now there’s going to be some profit you have made. Last I checked the price it’s at $49,000. I can’t tell if it’s going above that this year or not. We have seen some people predict $100,000 before the year is over, but are hundred percent sure that this will happen? Nope. All we can do is have patience till then. So far the market has been good and we are hoping that it continues this way. By the way, it seems to me like you invested too much and that’s why you ran out money? Try to be calculative how much you’re investing, so that you don’t end up making a mistake.
