There is really no doubt on that. Many investors and traders use ethereum and big companies have taken notice of the said token. The name "King of the altcoins" would certainly fit its reputation, since many people are really considering ethereum as such. There is something like a consensus that Bitcoin is number one, and then Ethereum is considered number two on the great alts list. Since development of the said altcoin is active, then we will expect more things to come for the said coin.

Best in what sense? It is certainly more popular after Bitcoin but technically there are many better coins than eth.

For the longest run, ethereum was able to remain next to bitcoin. Too bad, it wasn't able and it wouldn't be able to surpass bitcoin even after many years. Still, it is one of the most known cryptocurrency in the world right now. It will surely take place on the top cryptocurrencies that will be legalized globally in the future. Just like with other crypto's value, it follows bitcoin's value wherein as bitcoin's value rises its value also rises so if you are investing on ethereum, analyze the market starting with bitcoin so that you may know the pattern.

I agree with you that ethereum is the best cryptocurrency and ethereum has become the king of altcoin, but I'm not sure if ethereum will be the next bitcoin, because bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency and ethereum is the king of altcoin, so bitcoin and ethereum have different positions and will remain in its position until whenever.
