Yeah yeah we get it, even I’m also little bit down the road. Things are so worried these days due to many reason mate. For example, crypto getting hampered because of pandemic economic crisis, different bans, and most recently the Russian Ukraine war break out. Due to sudden shocks and fear across the globe the currencies are dropping in the value. Obviously this is temporary situation and we might just see more downfall in the coming days. With the time it could recover but we have to wait.
Plus I would like to think that if the dollar value is dropping then it’s all fine. At the end, all it matters how many coins we have in our wallets.

Hello mate
Do we currently calls the market situation the bear or what?
Today I just opened my storage where i buy and stored most of my crypto coin and the rest I noticed have almost lost 60% of all my asset in dollars so I was tempted to sell off all and take a look at the market to know if there will be corrections, though I have been monitoring the market but I m not really convinced so I decided to share here to know whether I could get some people who  knows about the market to give a little breakdown before I go into such decisions.
I will really appreciate then i can know the reason for such action and decrease in most of the currencies especially BTC and BNB.

Thank you.

I will read all comments to see the reason.
The rise and fall in the price of crypto assets is natural. If things are currently going down, you just need to hold your coins and be patient waiting for the price to go back up. A 60% slump in your assets can return later after the price soars again.

We are already in a bear market, keeping money is essential now.
Well I did not see we are in the bear market, we are really on that stage right now?
I hope my prediction is wrong, as we all don't expect the bear market to last as long as 2018. That is terrible!

However, if OP means selling his altcoins and reinvest in bitcoin is a good idea.
The market bounced back today and I actually sold some altcoins in my portfolio. I will definitely buy bitcoin but I think I will wait and watch the market for the time being. I think the market will have a correction coming.

It's understandable to be feel threatened by the wave of dwindling prices in the market. Most times there's the temptation to sell off to avoid losing from the bearish trend but this should not be the case because the market has a nature of volatility and a reduced value is not final.

No one disagrees that the right time to buy is when the price drops. Those who sell when the price drops will definitely regret it.
I doubt the crypto assets that are said to have lost 60% since the downturn are good assets like BTC, ETH, BNB or those in the top 10 coinmarketcap. Because the good assets will increase again after this phase ends.
Maybe some of them had already sold when the market was down yesterday and the brand regretted doing it because they see the price increase again today. I also don't know what crypto assets have fallen by 60% but if those assets are BTC, ETH, BNB, I'm sure those assets will give him more profit and he just needs to wait for that moment to come again. Instead, he should have to buy more those assets again at this point before the price went up further.

I think a bear means is when most of the coins or market in general term are declining. I didn't check the market yet but maybe you checked it already, what did you noticed? If you confirmed that there is a bear then you should refrain from selling. You are down 60 percent which was a lot.

If ever your going to sell at a loss I think you have sold earlier when the down percent is not too much, say 10 to 20 percent is still fine because that wont hurt much and can be easily recovered if you re invest again after you sold your coins. If you want to know the reason of the decline, they say it is because of the war that are happening now between UK and Russian country.

people usually buy when the market price is down. however you are tempted to sell your current crypto assets.
60% is a large percentage if assets are lost. lest your crypto asset is not a top coin so you are tempted to sell, because if you hold on the price will continue to decline. Is it true?
If your asset has fallen by 60%, it's better not to sell it now but just wait because if the price goes up after you sell, you will regret selling at a low price. This is a good moment to buy because the price is already below, so if you want to buy now, it can be a good moment to increase your coin amount. So I suggest you wait until market conditions recover.

Not only you but also many traders loss their money. Somebody 20%, somebody 40%, somebody 60%, if anyone loss 10% or 20%, then you sold your crypto. But, if you loss more than 25% or above, then you should hold your coin as can as possible. Because, you know that there are many times, btc breaks it’s own record and create a new one. So, be patience and you see in future that btc break all records and market will be in strong position.

Actually it's normal for us to experience losses when investing in crypto, because I'm sure everyone has experienced it. However, it does make us
panic if we see our assets drop drastically, moreover until it drops to 60% I can understand how it feels. But the mistakes we make make the experience
for us to be wiser in making decisions. I agree with you, if we are still losing below 25%, it doesn't matter if we sell the coins we have. But if our
assets have fallen above 25%, it is not recommended to sell our assets, because later, apart from making our morale fall, we also find it difficult
to compensate for the losses we have experienced. Actually, in my opinion, as long as we invest in popular coins that are at the top, there is no need
to panic to sell them when the price drops. Because popular coins such as BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL and ADA if the price falls very deep, the chances of
recovery are very high, so it's better to just hold until the price goes up again.

The market is either bullish or bearish, I ask myself, why do people panic when the later occurs and Jubilate when it gets bullish. The people who understands cryptocurrency market utilize the bearish time because it'll get bullish soon and everyone gets happy again. That's why some win on cryptocurrency market while the others feel like it's not for them. OP, some coins like BCH was not hit so hard. Consider such kind of coins they'll be a better substitute.
The answer is simple, it hurts to see your profits going down and you rejoice when the market soar higher and that is human nature and it will not change, but smart investors will understand with every correction it gives them the opportunity to add more in their bag and then wait for the market reversal and earn their profit. So always be a smart invest rather than an emotional investor.
^ Definitely right but for me, if the profit was been on my target profit then I will sell them without hesitation.
Seeing the price that has been increased is really tempting to sell and hope that you have able to gain more profit upon holding. There is no need to wait for long if it is already hit your profit target. Just sell and reinvest it back when again there is a correction and I think that is how the smart investors will think about crypto investment. Be always have a wise decision.

I feel what your feel mate, to sell was your choice but first, you also have to think what will be the results with this. Because losses can be possible if you sell them below the buying price and I think it was not a good idea either.
Well, I'm not saying you should have to hold your coins but I just wanted for you to think. it gonna be a hard decision this time especially if you are relying on crypto profit but we sometimes do the sacrifice and that to hold is a way not to lose our money as surely the market will recover someday.

Even if you are a technical analysis specialist, your technical analysis will be useless if the economy is going nuts, either negatively or positively. Even if you do not consider yourself a trader and instead consider yourself a regular investor, it is your obligation to be aware of what is going on in the world that may impact the price of the assets you have, whether it is crypto or anything else.

our goal for investing is to get a profit, so don't panic to sell our assets when the crypto market is falling, especially if the crypto we hold is a coin that has strong fundamentals such as, BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, AVAX, DOT, ADA, and TERRA LUNA, the rise and fall of crypto prices is a very common thing to happen but when the rise and fall of a coin no one knows for sure, therefore we must learn from the experience of 4 years ago, where BTC and other coins have fallen too deep for a long time, this incident makes people who panic excessively get big losses because they sell their assets when prices are very low, but on the contrary it is people who are patient and optimistic who get the benefits which is great, because BTC and its other coins have risen so high a few years later,

I don't know why you should be tempted to sell off your portfolio if it only contains btc and eth (if I were in your shoes I won't bother, but this is your decision to make) the point is, btc has experienced worst situations than this and always come out even stronger, except you have such a pressing needs that require urgent money I don't see the point, or perhaps you believe if you sell now you can buy back cheaper (that is, if you still want to reinvest) otherwise no need.

Even if it's alts, time to sell already passed (imo) selling now at -60% is like throwing your asset away (well depend on the alts) if they are shitcoins and you fear they may not be able to recover, I would say dispose of them ( again it is your decision ).

Decreases don't always happen, there will definitely be increases. So far the graph goes zig zag. I'm sure you know how the cycle goes.
If you believe in selling for fear of losing a large percentage of crypto assets, then please make a decision. For me, it would be a big loss if the current market conditions chose to sell.

After the rise, there is a fall in the market. Then will be rise again. But in the long term perspective cryptocurrency market rise. So it is better not to hurry and not to sell assets.

You have to remember what your initial purpose of investing in crypto, if to make a profit why should you sell it when the price is low.
Market declines in the crypto world are common and will definitely happen again and again, so there's no need to panic if your assets drop to 60%.
Because as long as you invest in potential coins, you don't have to worry, the price of the coins you have will recover and even go up much higher.
One of the keys to successful investing in crypto is patience, so be patient with holding the coins you have until the market is bullish again.
Don't rush to sell the coins you have when the market is bearish like now,  who knows in the near future there will be good news and make
the crypto market recover. But remember that you are holding not shitcoins, if you are holding shitcoins you should sell them as soon as possible.
Because shitcoins the possibility of recovering is very small, so the risk is too high, if you hold it for too long.

Classic story, but don't be discouraged because you got a good experience. Further, there will be more small rises and falls in the price, but I think that the general vector will be directed downwards in order to force investors like you to sell your crypto assets. In your case, you need to analyze each token and make a decision.
