Actually before joining any ICO as for my experience, I look for the roadmap and the team. That matters to me. For example if one of the advisers is Cuban probably he also reviewed and make some studies before being part of that certain ICO. I mean I consider the background of the team behind launching an ICO so there will be less risk to be gone in the future.
Everything you do while you breath air out of your name nostrils involve some degree of risk. Cryptocurrency and in particular ICO is not different from all these other activities. ICO is a good tool to increase your fund. If you are willing to risk a little you could earn big.
do not worry if you invest in ICO, it depends on how successful your project will be. that's sure to earn you. but if you're unsuccessful, then you might lose your investment. so I'm hoping that if the day will come, I'll be an investor.
Investing on ICO's have risk, I guess that everything that we do have its own risk, but investing on ICO's risk is only when the project will turned out different compare to the exact plan of a certain team. Some of the ICO's nowadays are just good on the start, but once that they've hit their soft or hard cap, some of them decided not to pay their investors and clients and run away with the entire money they have raised.
It's indeed a risky investment, but I would say the riskiest kind of investment in Crypto-Currency world is Ponzi/HYIP. Most of these ICOs won't succeed on long term, so the "hit and run" strategy is used, you wait a fast pump, sell all your coins and wait for the next opportunity on a next ICO and forget forever

Ypu can loss all your money in ICO if the developer gone. You will loss your money if you sell your coin in lower price. Become investors in ICO means that you will become long term investors. You should thrust your dev although the price of the coin that you buy is decrease. 
Investing in ICO is riskier than just holding and trading your Bitcoin and has a high possibility of scam. Even a legit ICO doesnt give you the assurance of earning. You will first distinguish which are scams or not, on this part is so risky even just in the beginning, then the other risk is when that ICO will progress.
The risk will always be there specially in crypto market. ICO's offers different services with different risk level but newbie should be careful and should not join any ICO easily. If you think this is an easy profit then you are wrong because in reality your money will easily loose if you make a wrong decision. Study further so you can prevent to put your money on a scam ICO's.

All investment type has its own risk. If you invested on 2017 ICO you have a higher chance to double or x10 your money. however for this 2018, i dont think ICO will still be like before. Just look for promising ICO backed with existing product, great developers and community support.

investment to an ICO project can be said to be 50% profitable, and 50% scam. This is not an instant investment, it takes months and even more to reap the profit from it. Learn, thoroughly aim, watch the activities of the team, and try to follow the project when Pre sale, so you can get token with cheap price.
If the team behind that product is good and if they can come up with the product what they described in their white paper then early investors going to benefit a lot from these ICO investments. But these days there are so many of them coming up every day and it has become challenging find out which is good and which one bad. So temporarily I have stopped investing in any of these ICO projects.

ICO's is very risky and its not advisable for newbies to get in into it because your money might loss and don't expect easy money through ICO. First you need to study how this market works and you must do your research about the project you are planning to invest with. Not all ICO's succeed, some of those are just a scam so you better stay away from this and back later on if your mind is ready go invest on it.

Investing in ICO's is the most riskiest investment you could make right now in the crypto world i believe . There are countless numbers of new coins each providing unique and attractive ideas . But not all of them are going to succeed because of their kind and well written work. It's like gambling if you are lucky enough the project will succeed and you will get hella profits . It's all up to you and your way of analyzing ICO's . If it fits what you think is a successful project , then go with your guts and invest in it ,but you must know that you should invest at your own risk and only what you could afford to lose . Acouple of years ago ICO is the gateway of making 3X or more out of investment and the risk involve in ICO is that ICO is now the fastest way to loose investment right now simply because the online theft are using to steal from people. In other to avoid been scam through ICO you need to consider the promoting techonolgy, the team involve, partners etc. You could check the Graft Credit Card and Universal Crypto payment processing network ICO, they have some promising future and here is their ICO site.

Investments always have some risks involved due to its nature. And it is because we can't see future, this is the main thing I can think off.
As an investor, we always try to minimize the risk and move forward in the hope of success. If you step into the investment world then you have to consider both profit and loss.
To minimize the risk, it is better to divide your overall capital into many parts and invest in different ICOs. Remember, "do not put all the eggs in one basket"?
Create your own solid strategy, avoid being greedy, try to be patient and practice to research before investing. Hopefully, you will be a successful investor.
