Yes I think ICO is one of the best way to invest but doing that one need to have a good knowledge of the market to be able to know the right time to sell of hold. Read the whitepaper to avoid been scam. Doing these I think u are good to go in doing ICO.

I don't think ICO is the best way to invest. Because there was a time that you invested and ICO and get some bonuses tokens, after that, when ICO token exchanges, the price will get dump so instead of profit, you loss some or even sometimes ICO was scam.
