The idea is correct.  I also noticed that if you believe in a coin strongly, it is better to buy the coin after ICO has completed and the coin has entered the stock exchange.
Because 99% of all coins first dump, and then the coins' price increase. Sincerely yours.

You should actually be comparing the ICOs from 2016 to that of 2017 and 2018. As most of the ICOs launching currently are most likely going to end up failing or exit scamming. You don't get promising ICOs anymore like you used to get before. Also almost 90% of the ICOs launched last year have already failed.

You should invest if you believe in the team, technology, product and vision. But this is a risk we run as individual investors in a market with little regulation.

That's it. In 2017 you could invest in each ICO and take your money back with X profit. Now there is a big variety of ICOs and it is hard to collect full amount, as a result price decreases after listing. This year I gained only with Credits, Universa and MTC

In 2017 the number of trustworthy icos are still high compared to todays when there are too many people try to take advantage of this ico popularity by making fake projects.

Usually  it gives better profits putting money in cryptocurrencies which people are experts at so therefore carry a higher opportunity to choose professionally.

Before entering your investment into one ico project, you learn about the project and its roadmap. You can see that the market is falling into crisis and there are lots of coins that always lose its value. Market capitalization declines and investors lose confidence in bitcoin markets. Therefore, ico projects are currently very difficult

Can be said that this year was very difficult and full of surprises, this is because what is the target investors that in 2018 the market will continue to skyrocket it was wrong, the market continues to decline and I agree that this year the market conditions more difficult than in 2017.

The reason for serious bashing of ICO prices on various exchange is as a result of the current market condition. The Bear is raging right now and many negative news coming from all quarters as regard cryptocurrency is not helping either. ICO is still a brilliant way to invest.

ICOs are definitely not the same I would even say that ICO is not the best decision in first half of 2018, I was just gathering my investment capital till the July. And for now I'm thinking that I can begin to invest something.

You are right. ICO is currently very much different in the year before it. Tokens that have been launched when the ICO has finished are falling and most of the prices are under ICO sales. But if no one is investing, it's the same as a token that will not be included in the crypto market. so I am confused as to how

It seems to me that this fact – dropping price of new tokens – is closely connected with red market now. The author has called this topic as «ICOs in 2018 not same as 2017» and it is really so – today even good projects with professional team and new idea sometimes can’t reach hardcap. So this is natural and after the market begins grow again we will see in most cases how the prices after ICO increase in several times. But not today)
as for the author’s strategy, it is really working and I try to sell all my bounty tokens during the ICO and then buy them in bigger amount several weeks later

The anticipation of regulations by government of which people believed that it may be brutal signal caution and abstinence as regards ICO. Now that government is relaxing tough regulations, investors will gradually come back to ICO investing.

this is my own opinion but it may help others.

I have found that all the ICOs i have invested in have launched at almost the ICO price but in a few days dipped below the ICO prices by half or 5X for some.

With this i have discovered its better not to invest in an ICO but wait for the launch and the DIP to buy it at the corrected prices made by market forces.
Its just too hard to tell the real or recommended value of a token in an ICO these days.

Hope this helps to the new investors thinking of ICOs

I quite agree with you,  2017 was really bullish for Crypto generally and mostly ico participants get good reward from investing in it unlike 2018, only Few ico like Quarkchain and others that has been successful in this year due to the bullish market

Not the fault of ICOs, the whole market is bleeding. New currencies always need to face tough time if they don't have a strong backup in the market, and during these days it is hell difficult for ICOs/projects to maintain their ICO price after the ICO. This means even the good projects can't deliver what they supposed to do

On some coins, the price flies up several times, then falls to the price of the sale of ICO and in a few months exceeds the surge after the release of coins to the market.

All change with time. A changes in the world of crypto is super fast. Moreover, I can say that the ICO in 2019 will  differ from the 2018 and so on. The market has changed, prices have changed, everything has changed.

Yes they are quite different I would say that projects in 2018 are really more weaker, And they not getting enough money, they more often get scammed, all those things are happening.

Well if that is in the case then there so be no Ico at all and people will just wait for the coin to hit the market, but if the project is going to be great they are going to need funding for it, and if they cannot generate funds for that then the project will go on, but I like that idea that they first put the coin in the market first before getting their funds.
