I think there's a lot of ICOs this year rather than last year so there's a chance that the projects are getting lack of investors, more scams as well so the number of investors are declining, its much harder today to choose the projects to invest at.

I think in this statement that ICOs in two thousand eighteen are not same as two thousand seventy it
because in the year of two thousand eighteen the ICOs are much better because they are improving.

In 2018, the ICO market actually turned out to be less profitable than in 2017. Perhaps, investors' expectations have decreased, but I am confident in the restoration of the situation.

In 2017, investing in ICO brought a profit. Now most tokens after the end of ICO are much cheaper. In addition, there is a lot of fraud. I think that the situation can change for the better state regulation of this phenomenon.

The 2017 ico project will make you rich overnight, and the 2018 ico project will keep you poor overnight. The market in 2018 is on a downward trend. Very bear market. There are still many scams.

Yes, you said it is good, and many people have observed this. Almost all coins were higher than the initial price when they were listed last year. But this year, on the contrary, most coins have fallen.

We know that the coin will dumped in their 1st release in the market, most of the user here are telling other users or suggest others to buy during the dumped period, but not all coins can recover, most of the coins stay in their low price and seldom recover from their lost. So it always depend on how you handle th situation.

This year's ico is basically a failure, once the listing price will continue to fall, even for good projects. The situation last year was completely different and completely opposite. So don't participate in ico this year, or you will regret it.

this is my own opinion but it may help others.

I have found that all the ICOs i have invested in have launched at almost the ICO price but in a few days dipped below the ICO prices by half or 5X for some.

With this i have discovered its better not to invest in an ICO but wait for the launch and the DIP to buy it at the corrected prices made by market forces.
Its just too hard to tell the real or recommended value of a token in an ICO these days.

Hope this helps to the new investors thinking of ICOs
Thank you for this little information, now I have an idea on what to do before investing.

Yes, in many respects this statement is correct. But some have successfully appeared on the market and during this period, you just need to carefully choose the appropriate option for investment.

Right!
ICO 2017, when a successful ICO project that goes to the floor, they will pump continuously, but hungry with iCO 2018 the opposite.

Yes indeed ico this year is not like the year 2017. Ico this year seems not at all good for investors. And also better to wait ico coins to market then we buy. Because sometimes it will be much cheaper than buying in ico. That's all I think.

I truly believe bounty hunters are not responsible for the price drop as soon as the token hits an exchange. This is only because the limited amount of tokens to be dumped is too small compared with demand. The reason could be associated with early investors dropping significant amount of tokens received as bonus. They are free coins anyway!

I do not think there are any notable differences
it's just a lot of new ico born and also a lot of ico that failed so as to make the investors to think again to invest in ico

In 2018 I think that quantity destroyed the quality of ICOs. Now there are so many ICOs with solving the same problems and it's too hard to choose only one to support, tricky situation on the market, too many coins..

I think it is obvious to all investors in the crypto market that most ICO projects are very fluctuating. Usually many ICOs drop in price immediately after launch, but there are many ICOs that bring unexpectedly good profit. Good research should be done before the investment and with luck, you can get very big profits.

The ICO market is alive . The fact is that in the past half Year  there are the same number of ICOs in 2018  than in 2017- so it is not the same as we have already surpassed last Year results until June 30. In this half Year of 2018 there is raised double amount of money than in 2017 ( whole Year ) more than 13.7 billion - so it is not the same Biggest contributors  for that result are Telegram by raising  1.7 billion  and EOS  raising 4.1 billion.
Where the difference is ; the market. Last Year we were in parabolic rise and now we are in bearish market which have big influence on  ICO token price  when they enter the market.

You have some real data points there but you conclusion is flawed. Yes it‘s true that in the first half of 2018 more people invested in ICOs, at least there was more money raised. But contrary to 2017 the majority go burned at lost money as their investments did not do a 5x or 10x once the coins or token were tradable at exchanges.

How likely is it that these folks will just continue to invest in ICOs in the 2nd half of the year? All I can tell you I am no longer touching ICOs and pick projects that are already having a product but are undervalued. The majority will not even do that and just walk away from this market and it‘s current shape.

in early 2017, there was limited ICO and participants. SO, we could be easy to join participate in the ICO. The price of the coin in ICO is also cheap and they are growing and rising after the end of the ICO. It is different from the recent condition.

In General, 2018 can be called a good year for ICO and crypto-currencies with difficulty. Yes, the winter was very profitable, but now it seems that we are just waiting for something unclear, and investors are leaving the market. I hope that 2019 will be the best year for cryptocurrency
