It's still not available in exchange because this is still a testnet. It might still take quite a long time to optimize everything and be ready to be released. Idena Mining only uses a stable internet network that is very easy and fast, but if you do mining now you will still get a balance according to your wallet when the release time later. That's all I know from the founder of this project.

Not listed on exchanges yet. You can use an old laptop to mine it doesn't require your cpu power or gpu only some bandwith, and for smartphones it's in the roadmap.

We plan to release a new version of the Idena node at 10th of January after 14:00 UTC.
It will be a hard fork. The miner status for all validated nodes will be deactivated. Please be ready for the update.

Planned changes:

1. Peering protocol refactoring (libp2p will be used for the peer discovery)
2. Flips encryption support
3. Flips distribution improvement
4. Fast synchronization improvement (state snapshot will be saved once per 1500 blocks)
5. Duplicate keywords for flip bug fix
6. Block proposer selection improvement
7. Consensus protocol improvement
8. Bug fixes

An additional announcement will be published in 1 hour before the release.

Best way to backup is to go in Idena - datadir - keystore folder, and then copy your 'nodekey' file to safe place or usb stick.
This is something like your private key, so don't show it to someone else.

To flip I've made since the date of the 2nd of January yesterday after I validated. Making a flip is very easy for you to go to the flips menu - new flip - select the story you want to make (eg washing stories) - select an image from google type in the keywords your chosen story - shuffle images - submit flip - finish waiting just usually not long and your status will immediately change to "wait for validation". I also don't have a youtube link to explain this, so I can only help improvise.

People with node issue and low peer count pls open port in your router or use cheapest VPS to host node.....!

THIS IS still test net, most nodes are on home PC with closed ports, upnp also is enabled in the node

but don`t cry in testnet if you have one peer and have issue!

Most shitcoins ask public IP and open ports, idena do not but as majority of users are home users there is issue some have peering/slow network or even some bugs in the code.... which is all expected atm

Just joined verified my account and now mining I'd like to ask is there a tutorial on how to create a flip the validation will happen in 9 hours in my end and I still have not created my 3 flips task, do they have to approve it first and how many hours before they approve it.

I have followed the validation process in epoch #29 last week now I will participate again in the next validation scheduled today, my experience is very good, unique, and different concepts from most projects. The mining that I do every day is very safe and runs easily. Wink

I don't think it's a FUDS it's a fact, no way a hero member will post his bad experience if it is not true and to find out if we are saying the truth and the fact go visit the telegram channel and check how many miners are suspended even though they submitted before the time expires, to many of these makes it a fact, if this is a testnet then it's a must that he address this because we are showing the bugs and the issues.

Right? I see the potential as well, but we have to bear in mind those issues I have raised in post #158 and #139.
Dev have to address those or at least look in to them. Something potentially dangerous for the lifespan of the network may be hidden there. I'm not willing to alert dev's on any other means of communication. They came here, so they have to pay attention to all the community they're creating for this project of theirs. Lack of interest may highlight objections put by Tytanowy Janusz, that we in fact facing potential pump and dump scheme. This is cool idea after all, with definitely bright future ahead and making a milking cow out of it, won't serve as trust building development.

I'm calling Idena dev out, look in to this potential (imo real) problem.

Although I have not experienced that in my validation process, your issue should be addressed and it should not be treated as an isolated case. for a platform to have a strong connection, there should be no issue at all, honestly, I don't like it when they are updating all concern on telegram, and not posting anything here, Bitcointalk is where they can get more new supporters, they are getting members on telegram channel because of this thread, that's based on my experience.
We should forget getting this coin in the market unless they address all the issues, it should be transparent and it should be posted here.
