I opened my wallet today and I just noticed that my wallet is offline it's offline for an hour now  I have run my wallet for over two months now and this is the first time it happens, is there anything I should do or failed to do, will appreciate it any answer that will make my wallet nodes to start again.

What have you tried? Are you running the inbuilt node? Can you not just restart the client and on settings tab select "run inbuilt node"?

Idena Announcements

Mining pool mechanics is a long-anticipated upgrade we have to do to avoid the concentration of voting power in the network. The node upgrade was released as a part of the hard fork done in March. The desktop app got the upgrade from version 0.22.2. Now we added the list of active pools at the Pools tab in the Idena Blockchain Explorer.

Private key you use to login to Web App, does not leave your browser (client side). Web App uses it to sign RawTX's and forward it to shared node. Shared node does not come in contact with private keys.
Why would developers make something that would compromise users private keys?

Sounds good, it means that all shared node users must ensure that the website they visit to input the private key is https://app.idena.io, because it is possible that there will be web phishing exploiting this gap as an attempt to steal user assets.
Until now, I still trust my own shared node to do Idena validation. I'm really looking forward to an update regarding the Shared nodes marketplace  Smiley

Is there a possibility that the shared node operator will steal private key data from other people who use their shared node services?

Idena now has Docs page
https://docs.idena.io/
Among other things, we can find roadmap there:

As we know, shared nodes are now often used by people to validate for the reason that they are more stable and error free, and it requires users to import their private key and password in the fields provided when connecting to the shared node. People can easily own their shared node by owning a VPS and sharing the API Key with the public, whether it's in a telegram group or on discord.

Before the marketplace for the Shared node API Key is released, it is a good idea to make sure that the balances held by the validators in Idena are safe from hacking.
Is there a possibility that the shared node operator will steal private key data from other people who use their shared node services?

I updated my Idena node to the new one, but now I cant seem to connect my client to the server node. I have never had this problem before in any earlier updating. Does anyone else have this issue?

No, I don't have any issue, all fine, I still mining using Client version: 0.22.2 and Node version: 0.25.2

and what node version did you mean?.

sometimes happens to me when restarting VPS, I just correct the time then it would be fixed. go to setting time > change date and time > internet time.

That worked. Thanks, I did not realize a tiny difference in time could cause connection failure.

There is a new version of the Idena node available: 0.25.2  Wink

Changes:
- Disable the finish oracle voting transactions

Please update

There is a bug found in the latest node version which makes it impossible to finish the oracle voting. We will release the seamless hard fork update to fix the issue. An additional announcement will be published.

does anyone know why it keeps popping up to me check-in my local time warning? Even if everything okay, I pass successfully validation, but this is a little boring and every time I need to check it.

Install free program that will keep your OS time in sync
http://www.timesynctool.com/NetTimeSetup-314.exe

Also check that you have your "Auto Daylight savings" setting checked

But you know why we both made same mistake? Because hotbit has bug in their website that sometimes does not refresh deposit address. You go to deposits and you see USDT (ERC-20) deposit address, you change it to idena and page should refresh showing new address. Sometimes it does not. You see IDENA, you see address, you do a deposit, coins are gone. Be carrefour and always check if address did refresh.

Yes, it happened just because of that bug on Hotbit. Maybe I was a little faster than I should have been. It's too much 0.3ETH to solve that, Idena amount which I sent not worth that.

I don't like this process. Going to be just another ERC20 token with a high transaction fee.
I think there will be a lot of confusion here. Idena addresses starting with 0x... same as any other ERC20 token and it will be very easy to make a mistake. I already did it by accident and now I have Idena on my ETH deposit address on the Hotbit exchange.
It is interesting that I can check and see this transaction on Idena explorer, but not on the ETH network.

Being ETH compatible is a great advantage. Thats the main reason why BSC is the biggest chain now. Because it was faster, cheaper than ETH (such as tron, eos and tones of others) but also ETH compatible that allowed it to use ETH infrasctruscutre that ETH was building for years.

And what ERC20 token? What high fees? We are talking about pancake swap and BSC network (binance smart chain).

It is interesting that I can check and see this transaction on Idena explorer, but not on the ETH network.

Because your coins are not on ETH. They are on IDENA network. Just transferred to IDENA address that exist on ETH as hotbit deposit address.

You can try to get therm back if there were much of them. As Idena is ETH compatible it is possible that hotbit will use their eth private key connected to your deposit address and use it on idena chain. Did same mistake months ago. I get this response:

"2. In order to retrieve your mistakenly deposited tokens, we would have to conduct relevant operations such as extra installation or upgrade on the software of our wallet, the import and export of the private key and so on. Due to the fact that only those staff with very high authority are allowed to conduct relevant operations and that the whole process has to go through very strict risk control verification process, such operations require huge amount of time, labor cost and risk control cost. It might take three to six months to retrieve your assets. Please do be patient.
3. Due to the strict risk control verification process, you need to pay 0.3 ETH by original sending address( ) that you transferred this transaction mistakenly to switch back the coins. The transerred address is 0x5c0e7D5D2c3f244083eA00a8c6b17c42120ac632 and then send TXID to us so that we can check it for you. Attention please: Due to the strict risk control verification process, we can only send your assets back to your original sending address( ) later."

We still need official pancake listing from pancake team.

Thing is, we need to have 2500 addresses that have idna on BSC and 5000 transactions so we can comit to TrustWallet github repo. PancakeSwap pulls data from TrustWallet. I beleive, we will have that soon, I beleive in our community.

Oh yeah, one more neat thing. You can import your idena private key to Metamask (please be carefull because there are lot of scams) and use your Idena address on both Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain.

After using Idena, I felt the need to share some useful things with my friends and introduced a coin with a unique consensus algorithm, namely Proof of Person (PoP), so I made a tutorial to setup Idena shared nodes on the Indonesian board.

[Guide] Cara setup Shared Node Idena pada VPS Ubuntu 18

I made this tutorial starting from purchasing a domain at a very cheap price ($ 0.9) for Indonesians and connecting it to Cloudflare and a VPS with Idena Shared Node installed. As we know, the last few epochs of validation participants using Shared Node are more error-resistant (although not 100%), but this is a nice improvement. May be useful.
