By the end of last year, people thought it was almost guaranteed that we would hit $10K levels this year... funny how the consensus has completely changed after random unforeseen events. We've been in bear mode for all of 2014 so far

I have seen some bitcoin prognosis for 2014. It is not that bad, they predict some growth in second half of 2014. But I really doubt that 1 BTC would be worth as much as 10k$
You never know. Not many people at this time last year thought it would hit $1200 before the end of the year but it did. The institutional investors are beginning to show an interest so we can't rule it out completely.

This year $10000 isn't going to happen, but atleast we can try to go through the $2000

I wouldn't be surprised.. there has actually been some big things going on recently which were all overshadowed (GOXX'd) by MtGox.
1. launch of Neo & Bee / Cyprus bitcoin banking

3. playboy,pornhub... pretty much all big porn companies embracing bitcoin
Then again, I don't think we're done hearing about Gox... expect more journalists and media to blow it out of proportion and make it seem like it was a flaw of bitcoin and its decentralized structure

Really? When? I think it'll be a while before we see those sort of prices again. Once the gox fiasco gets out of the way though hopefully the price will start to crawl back up.

That's a good idea, if this happens I may rent a sick $10k/night penthouse in Vegas that can hold 10-15 people and have you guys meet me there to celebrate. I'll treat you at the strip club, but I can't buy everyone's flights... but yall should be rich enough by then anyway.
