the best investment in crypto currency still bitcoin another ETH
if you write list another btc and eth i want invest matic SOL ada. but shiba coin and dogecoin good coin too
but now the price movement of shiba and dogecoin is too slow if it moves even the price movement range is not far. so if you invest in dogecoin and shiba inu only for long-term investment.
The two alt coins you mentioned I think are not very good for long term investment. When Elon Musk tweeted about Doge Coin we saw the price of this coin increase significantly since then the price of this coin has gradually decreased. Currently the price of this coin is very low. So in my opinion those who want to invest in alt coins and want to do it for long term should buy coins like BNB Ethereum and invest for long term. Because we are now only a few months away from the Bitcoin halving we know that these prices will increase when the cryptocurrency market bullruns after the Bitcoin halving.

Just buy a BTC

It might be your desire that you only ask to buy bitcoins. If I had that much money like the OP, I would just buy bitcoin and hold it for the long term. Because the safest and most profitable way to invest in Bitcoin is to hold it for a long time. There is no need to be impatient if it is a small loss when investing in Bitcoin because the price of Bitcoin recovers quickly.

Today the price of Bitcoin has dropped below 40 thousand dollars so I think those who want to invest in Bitcoin should take advantage of this opportunity.

There are also many investors who not only want to invest in Bitcoin but also invest in various types of alt coins in addition to Bitcoin. For example, BNB Ethereum and other types of alt coins.

I agree with investing in Bitcoin too, but in this case, OP is looking at what will make him a billionaire (which I’m beginning to see as a little but unrealistic in the market today). For him to buy Bitcoin with that amount, he won’t be a billionaire. Unless in another century Grin. And even for the cryptocurrencies that would give more money, Bitcoin is quite slow (but safer) compared to most altcoins. It’s all about risk. If he can risk it, he should buy those altcoins. If he can’t, he can go with Bitcoin, it’s said that slow and steady wins the race.

I’m not sure what to advise on this because it isn’t advisable to put all your eggs in one basket. Be it in cryptocurrency or beyond, it makes more sense that you diversify and your worth or value doesn’t depend on just one item. Instead of just one cryptocurrency, why not maybe 3? Or even more for more stability? Well, whatever you decide make sure you pay attention to short term cryptocurrencies and long term ones so you don’t hold the wrong one for too long or the long one for too short.
What you said there is also an advice. But I think it's subjective. For some ( rich peeps ) those amounts stated might still be within their range and add if they invest those money in a superior coins ( you know, BTC or ETH ). If we want to diversify, it's also better to consider other types of assets and not just cryptos because others are more stable or less riskier than them.

I think almost all of us already know if what cryptos are built for the long term and if what cryptos are suitable for the short term. But if we still can't follow their rules, the problem is already with us. We might be lacking in patience, we are worried, we are greedy, etc... .

Yes, I know that's your view. and more users who are very confident in BTC will not doubt your choice. I might do that too. the more BTC in hand, the calmer we will be for the future. but OP asked what altcoins other than ETH or BTC he could buy.
planning to invest in altcoins may not be for the long term. With funds that are large enough, we can divide them into several assets and not focus on just 1 asset. one that might be worth paying attention to is SOL or BNB.

All in a bid to ensure I have a concrete investment plan this year, I researched some of the altcoins that has the potential to yield the best return over a duration of 5years. BTC and Eth top my list as one of the more secure coins, but other altcoins have proven to be reliable overtime, if you agree. Despite market volatility and the possibility of a crash, which is your most valid choice right now.

*If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency that will make me a billionaire, Which one do you think would be a better choice, besides BTC and Eth of which I have grown accustomed to?

- $BTC *
- $ETH *
- $ADA
- $VET
- $SOL
- $MATIC
- $SHIB
- $NEAR
- $DOGE
- $DOT
- $LINK

These are some of the best I have seen so far.

*What advice would you give me?

Bitcoin and Ethereum are two of the most established and widely recognized markets, and they have shown strong growth potential over the years, hopefully showing more growth in the days ahead. $40k is a high price, many may not use it as an investment in a single currency. We are currently in 2024 and will experience a halving event in this year, hopefully bitcoin will reach its peak value around this event. I would definitely choose bitcoin as a single currency to invest, in then ethereum if there is an option. MATIC, SOL, DOT these altcoins are good for investment, they will give good returns in future but in single currency altcoins i think investing large amounts is risky.

Honestly I know you said besides bitcoin but that's probably your best bet.  All the other choices you are risking a lot.  If one of these coins makes ypu a millionaire by chance then there is a good chance that bitcoin is going to at least be in the $500k range.  Is it worth the risk in missing out on bitcoins run to try to find something that will.outpace it?

In this case, I would say that if someone wants to invest his 40 thousand dollars in cryptocurrency, then I would say that he should invest it in a strong project, then he should invest is strong project. By choosing the strong projects and  the invest in them, it will be beneficial  that when he divides his investment and invests in these projects, if loss from somewhere, he will get it from the other. Will cover and also read the projects first, understand it, check there next step and then invest.

well, if he had made such a decision, then he was ready to accept the risk. Many people advise not to invest in just one place because it is very risky, but I think the profits that can be obtained can also be very large. However, with that much money, I can only choose the best coin, namely bitcoin. However, if I choose several coins, I might add ETH and BNB to my portfolio. Personally, I would probably add other assets with that kind of money, and wouldn't keep it all in one basket.
If you choose to invest in Bitcoin, it will be your risk free investment because we all believe that if we invest in Bitcoin, we have very little chance of losing money. There are some coins that I like more than Bnb. Ethereum. Solana. Xrp. But to invest you need to take risk. If you can never take risk then you don't think you can do well. So we should find some good coins.

If you just want to choose one from the many you provide. I recommend SOL because in addition to layer 1 coins such as ETH, it also has a heart in big investors. the marketcap is also very favorable for long-term investment.
keep doing your own research, so that in the future you do not blame the results of people's analysis and so that you feel more impressed if the choice you choose is very precise.
Prioritize your research before investing. We should never invest by listening to others. I think adding BNB and Litecoin to the two altcoins you mentioned wouldn't be amiss. These two coins are performing very well in the market and there are many investors who invest in these coins and hold them for a long time.

Except for BTC, I can divide your proposed coin portfolio into 4 categories:
- Layer 1: ETH, ADA, SOL NEAR, DOT
- Layer 2: Matic
- Infrastructure: VET, LINK
- Meme: DOGE, SHIB
The choice that requires little thought, in my opinion, will be 1 coin per category. And in order will be: ETH, Matic (or new Layer 2 coins like OP, ARB), LINK and DOGE. If you don't want to spread your portfolio out too many coins, then ETH and Link will be the safest and most optimal choice.

When you make this post it was last year and the price of coins at this present time have changed on the I believe that if you go back to the list of coins you mentioned you can see that it is positivity in those coins that you listed, so that is why it is advisable and encouraging for someone to make a research before investing in coin and at least to make sure that the invest in top 10 coins that is available in the market also have a reputation so when you invest in such coin you have a piece of mind and what you will be looking after should be a bullrun for the coin to propagate

if recomendation only one coin is the best still bitcoin but profit is not fast and low profit.
so if you invest in 1 coin and only buy once you have to be patient. impatient must lose a lot. because it doesn't use DCA also only one buy. all in one coin buy once
Sometimes with one coin, if you really focus on it with enough funds, it will certainly be effective, especially if you invest it in Bitcoin, which has a very good value, and the profits you get can also be impressive. But I also agree if you want to invest in altcoins because, with just bitcoin, it obviously takes a long time. There are also quite a lot of good and reliable altcoins, such as ETH and BNB.

We abide by the good advices we make and not some random advices that will make us stay on a complete different lane. The market have become broad and we have quite vast numbers of projects coming in and out and our best sights should surround our targets spotted out. You're making good sense here, in possession of $40,000 and you're contemplating on the market, really? There are numerous altcoins and gems in the market apart from bitcoin. It's simple how we cope with the market, its easy to predict which altcoin will pump but not always easy to speculate on the future projects.

If I had 40 thousand dollars to invest in Cryptocurrencies I would definitely invest my 40 thousand dollars in Bitcoin because Bitcoin investment is a reliable investment that will never let you down. Although I prefer Ethereum to Bitcoin, I would still invest in Bitcoin because Bitcoin runs at its own pace and never depends on others. A bitcoin can be found for 40 thousand dollars.1 bitcoin means future billionaires.

I’d invest similarly to what you mentioned too, however, while you choose to invest in Bitcoin, OP mentioned that the cryptocurrency selected will have to make him a billionaire. Unfortunately, the bitter truth is that with $40,000 right now, OP can only buy 1 BTC. And if we’d be honest with ourselves, we do not see how that will turn in a billion dollars someday. I know Bitcoin has climbed unbelievable heights, but such height would be extremely unrealistic.
Yes, to be real Bitcoin will not so soon make you a billionaire by investing a $40k into it but we  also have to consider the security of our funds being invested on the right  cryptocurrencies. If it where just for making a billionaire then some Altcoins are capable of keeping such promises but always hard to get that perfect one.

I think the OP understands that Bitcoin is most secured before creating the topic, that means that him listing the Altcoins, he already knows the risks involved in them. It’s okay to buy and hold Bitcoin if you’re after security, but it won’t make those Billions. Cheers.
