If the price history cycle is to be replicated, then Ethereum is also bound to be affected by a plunge in the Bitcoin price, though I don't expect a significant plunge, just few corrections, but if there happens to be any, I still wouldn't consider any altcoin as a hedge to Bitcoin, I'd comfortably still hodl my btc, and wait to see how the price bounces back up.

Having said that, there is no use speculating on the bear market, for users who are short term Investors, they can always withdraw their ROI now that the market is on a positive run, and for long term investors, it doesn't matter if the bear market starts next month or whenever, they'll just wait out the cycle, till it's time for another ath.

That only if I can figure out what will happen next, definitely I can tell something. But I/we can't and what we goona read now is purely just prediction.

But if we base on the current market trend, I suppose not to think dumps will happen next month. Though it seems possible, however, the market is still on the uprising trend, many investors were still coming pushing the demand to get high, and the bullish continued.

I would be in a lot of trouble if it were now around $ 50,000 and then suppose next month it fell to $ 20,000. the impact for altcoin is very worrying. Obviously this makes it like dropping 5% of the moon to the earth, is there anything left? maybe, but the effect is too broad.
bear market it is very possible for us to take more bitcoin, but will it reach $ 20,000? we will see a lot of losers.

Things are much different than how bitcoin and alts were at the end of last bull. Bitcoin mining yield are lower and most of the supplies are frozen or bought by institutions and hedge funds which would prevent it from crashing rapidly. Many alts too are now much more dependent on their use case than market manipulation. There sure would be a correction or bear after such rapid increase, but the rate at which the coins would decrease would be uneven.

This is definitely a good question. Although in terms of survivability, I think all top 20 coins will survive any crash only because crash will bring more investors. But if we consider price drop levels way below like %50-80, I think some coins won't be devalued that much. I expect BNB for example not to drop in value much, Uniswap either as its great profitable platform that will automatically bring more interest. I think Ethereum will still stay strong as its one of the main networks of many altcoins/tokens. I also think Monero won't drop much as its one of only safest privacy coins. That feature alone will help its demand and price.

which altcoins were still able to survive and which altcoins are feeling the big impact of the bear trend.
We have learned from the bearish market that happened last year and 2017, the majority of major coins can still survive from the dump that can happen anytime.
This caused by the major coin like binance has a very good product and it was making the active income for the platform. I think BNB can survive from the dump dude.

so I think Ethereum can still survive and that Ripple will be one of the biggest impact altcoins during the bear market.
Ripple could be dead when the bearish market will be coming soon.

although this possibility is low and probably won't happen. but I want to ask you. if the bear market starts next month, and bitcoin falls below 20k. which altcoins were still able to survive and which altcoins are feeling the big impact of the bear trend.

we exclude stablecoins, because after all the market situation this coin will definitely be stable.

so I think Ethereum can still survive and that Ripple will be one of the biggest impact altcoins during the bear market.
Crypto currencies with the highest market cap will survive like we say top 100 cryptos from coinmarketcap may not be going to zero but it may take more or less impact depends on their utility.

I will say that if the bear market is about to start next month then it is necessary to set stop loss limit for coins in your portfolio and take 20% is enough to consider that bear market begin so sell all of them and wait for the dip to buy again.

This season has been a very different season, although there isn't a sharp drop in bitcoin it could still see any altcoin crash hard. In fact, bulls can occur at any time of any coin this season so it really shows which coins have good and bad futures. Because even some coins can create new ATH whereas many other coins just make recoveries they basically don't have support to touch previous ATH.

If bear market is coming no one in the matket will survive, all in crypto market will goes down, no matter if it is ethereum or xrp or very good use case, because when the bear is coming a lot of money moving out from crypto market to fiat market / Gold / stock. But i believe bear market is not coming next month, we are in the bullish phase for long time ( maybe untill 2022 Feb )

If bitcoin would really drop below 20k within a week than no altcoin would remain unaffected, most of them would probably lose more than bitcoin itself. It has always been that way.
But i also that most altcoins would survive. I mean just because they drop in price by maybe 80% or so doesn't mean that they are dead. They would be just at a price level where they already were a few month ago.
Maybe very small projects that just started a few weeks ago would be in risk of dying out, but not well established projects.

If we see the current momentum of the market its seems impossible to Btc come back to the 20K USD range. Even I would say when things are running smoothly why are you thinking negatively enjoy the bull market. Strategy changes according to the market condition. About Ripple, I am not sure what will happen with XRP until and unless they sort the issue with SEC.

The bear market will not happen in the next month, but that still possible to see it. If that really happens, you need to prepare your money because we will see many major coin prices go down, and bitcoin prices will also down. But we do not know how deep the price will down, and we can just follow where the price moves. If you still have money, you can be ready to buy any coins you want at a low price and hold it until the price can increase. I do not expect to see the bear market come so soon because the bull market will not fully happen.

I don't consider Stable coins as Cryptocurrencies lol ,because this does not even having an Ups and Downs literally .

Lol are you sure about Ripple(XRP)? Ethereum is safe but xrp is questionable.

One of the lessons I've learnt from this space is that nothing lasts forever. I sincerely don't wish to see the bear market soon, coupled with the fact that more institutional investors are coming into the market, but that doesn't mean that the bear market cannot creep in anytime. I understand that Elon musk seems to give the space he's support and that has increased the level of confidence in the cryptocurrency space, but anything can still happen, so it's best to be prepared for whatever happens.

If that really happens (which I hope will not) and we are talking about the value of alts in USD then all of them gonna be affected except those which have their own moment of pump at the time of bearish because the significant rise of BTC price in USD affects alts value heavily in USD too.
ETH will be able to survive, maybe there gonna be a huge dump as well but still, it's gonna survive, XRP in the other hand still faces SEC can't say much. But, that scenario only happens if worse comes to worst.

This is just wild thinking, and I know the market is very strong these days. so there's no way this might happen. but come on, the possibility of a market crash is still there and haunts us in the future. So that's why I'm asking you, what would happen if the bear market started suddenly, what would happen to altcoins if bitcoin lost its price by 50% ?.

If correction of the entire cryptocurrency market will begin, then the prices of all cryptocurrencies and even top-end ones will fall, so such top cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Ripple will also fall, but the correction can be different, for example, Ethereum can fall from 1800$ to 100$ or from 1800$ to 1000$, it is difficult for us to predict what type of the correction will be and therefore we need to prepare for it in advance, and therefore I have already fixed most of my profit in stable coins.
I refuse to believe that there will be massive dump like 2018 this time around because adoption rate on crypto now is on another level, assuming Ethereum falls to 100$ well millions will be waiting to buy at that price, I doubt it will last a day, this bull season will be different, just a feeling

I don't think it makes sense to be talking about bear market now when we have now even peak in the bull market, if all these institutional investors are coming preparing your mind for bear market will make you look stupid and foolish when the right thing to do is to position yourself for the huge profit that the current market presented

Things can turn quickly in crypto world, even though the situation is different to the bull run of 2017, I still expect a crash at a certain moment. It can't go on like this.

so I think Ethereum can still survive and that Ripple will be one of the biggest impact altcoins during the bear market.

All coins will drop massively in a bear market and it could also mean the end of a lot of shitcoins.

for the popular altcoins, I think they will still be around. it's just that, we don't know how far the price would go down if bitcoin prices were below $ 20k. I think that altcoins that are new to, or below the rank of 300 will really feel the impact. It's just that, even if it's possible, I don't think bitcoin prices will fall that far this year, especially when there is support from Elon Musk.
