the price of bitcoin now can be said to be expensive when compared to before and there are lots of people who want to have bitcoin in large quantities because the price is expensive. but if you look at the past btc prices are of course very cheap
and of course, if you had a time machine, everyone would go back in time to buy as many bitcoins as possible, including me, i would also buy as many bitcoins as . and will sell btc at current price.

but I don't think it's worth thinking that far ahead because it won't work.

and keep in mind the present will be the past.

What we need to do now is to think and invest in the next 5-10 years. For the previous years, we wish we had bought bitcoin. Why not buy now?

This is what I want to say, why don't we buy bitcoin now and hold until 15 years later? We don't have to reminisce about the past and get stuck with it, it doesn't make us any better either. It is never too late to invest in bitcoin, and I think now is the perfect time to invest in bitcoin. If I had to choose, I would rather buy bitcoin now than in the past because the future of bitcoin is more certain than ever. The risk of buying bitcoin in the early days is much higher than buying bitcoin from now on.

Sometimes the past should stay in the past. Maybe this is the best. I don't want to go back and say things like I would buy x bitcoins. I don't want to fantasize about the past and get stuck. I try to live our day the way we deserve. I am striving for my future. Thinking too much about impossible things is stealing time from our future.

What we need to do now is to think and invest in the next 5-10 years. For the previous years, we wish we had bought bitcoin. Why not buy now?
Some people still thinking not like you, they will try to back in the past and buy all of Bitcoin. But, something like this, usually doesn't work because it will be different situation and become unexpected in the future. I agree, One way to back in the past is to buy Bitcoin today, but not many are aware of it, because they is still lulled and imagined if all that is too late and there's nothing they can't do today.

I won't back to the past, If had a time traveling machine, i will change that machine so there is no option to go back in past, the option is only one, future.

The present will be the past of the future, if those who regret not buying bitcoin in the past, now is still the time for them to correct their mistakes. But you are right, not many people realize this, and people prefer to live virtually than accept reality and find ways to correct mistakes.
I know this is just a funny question because it never happens, but we shouldn't waste our time thinking about the impossible. Instead, evaluate the present and find a way not to repeat the same mistake in the future. We regret not buying bitcoin 14 years ago, so don't let this regret repeat in 14 years.

The present is still a very good opportunity to buy bitcoin but many people do not dare to buy and dream about the past, which is really ridiculous. I also think that even if they go back to the past and do not know the future, they will never dare to buy bitcoin. Because right now, we all know that bitcoin will hit $100k, but still not too many people dare to buy.

If you could travel back in time today, what would you do?
Every now and then someone asks a similar question and each time I ask why don't people just buy bitcoin right now. It is not like we've reached the maximum price possible! Funny thing is that if you check the price at that time against current price you can see what those who didn't buy then, have already missed out.

For example you can see in this topic some people say "they would have bought $X worth of bitcoins". Price that month dropped as low as $6k and today it is 5x higher! Do you think any of those guys bought bitcoin then instead of wishing they had a time machine?

Who knows, maybe in a couple of years from now I find this topic and post it as an example for someone else who will have asked this question again Roll Eyes

That is mostly true and I see it the same way, but the huge difference between back then and now is the significantly increased downside risk and the decreased upside potential. Nobody could have ever truly known how far Bitcoin will go, but when you consider its total supply and you would have decided to buy 10,000 Bitcoin for $45, you would have owned a significant share that either goes to 0 one day and you would be $45 poorer or you would hold a relatively significant share in something you think is interesting and somewhat different from other potential assets in a very tempting way.

This does not mean that Bitcoin can't outperform other assets anymore. It would probably will for quite some time, but if I am not mistaken, nothing has ever performed like Bitcoin I believe. The psychological effect on getting in when you know you have missed the train for over a decade is rooted in the accounting you do in your head. You think about the 10000x that it has done already and then you have doubts whether it can do it again and whether there is something else that could do this. Ultimately, you do know that it had never been easier to get rich and this has certainly become true for some of the earliest buyers.

It is said that seed investors take the biggest risk because they finance a start-up or product that is still in its infancy. In the case of Bitcoin there wasn't really any risk if you only look at the numbers. Throw 50 bucks at it and let it go. Couldn't have invested 50 bucks in Facebook or Amazon and also became as rich.

Going back through a time machine doesn't seem to the right way of technology. It'll disturb the perfect functioning of any technology. It is good to get going along with the realtime and get adopted to it. People say that they will get back to the past and buy a lot of bitcoins. It is ok but sure the limitations and the goodness will surely  disturbed as it'll create miscalculations.

Whether it is bitcoin or any form of investment is normal people wish getting back to the past and having investment at the right time. We should think of the reality and act accordingly, which means even the ongoing market is an possibility which needs to be used.

It is a good practice to learn from other's mistake. But the impact to the lesson will not be as heavy as what you have learned from your own experience. As long as you don't suffer from your own mistakes and learn from them, then it will have less impact to your learning and experience. Because it is just another knowledge to you. But when you are the one to face it, you will gain experience. And experience is always ahead of knowledge. People hit the iron to make it strong. This has the same concept. But you need to track your improvements too.
Yes, unless you experience the same thing you will not fully understand or feel what the other person is feeling. But yes we can also learned from other people experience, and we can have an advance thinking that we should avoid this thing etc. But if I could turn back time, I will save some of the money I earned here in bitcointalk and I will reinvest it in btc. That's one of my biggest regret.

In learning things and acquiring experience through others, it is not necessary to have the same feeling as the person.  It is a matter of the cost and effect things and not the dramatic feeling the subject is going through.  Honestly, we can tell them (feelings) since we have a grasp of how emotion is formed.

Time will never come back so this discussion is a bit in vain but one thing we can do is just learn from the past experience and use it to leverage our advantage in the present and future tense of our Bitcoin journey.

If I could travel back in time there are so many things I’d do & if I’m honest, buying bitcoin earlier probably isn’t one of them. I have done well in bitcoin, sure I could have bought earlier. If I could travel back in time though I would probably spend more time with relatives who are no longer here (sorry to be boring).

You have done so well in Bitcoin, as you have said, but you are not wrong about what you have said. I am the kind of person who loves to kill two birds with one stone(funny). But since I have not gotten into Bitcoin early, I would basically get more Bitcoin since it doesn't take much stress or time to do so. After doing so, I will still spend more time with some relatives that I never got to spend a lot of time with before they died. Also, if possible, I would educate and advise a lot of my relatives to invest in Bitcoin as well.

Cheers 🥂

Well, it's obvious that all of us want to go back during the time that bitcoin is priced in as centavos and, we'd buy for sure a lot of it and will just have to wait until the right time comes to sell and we'd all be millionaires or even billionaires. But, I don't want to dwell in the past anymore and I know that this is just a situation discussion but then we should be moving on and it's hard to get stuck in the past and have all of those regrets get us reminded on where are we during those great times.

I do think that if I could turn back time, the obvious answer would be to HODL BTCs as much as possible and save it for the next 10-15 years where it would make me an instant millionaire or billionaire in this current day and age.

I do agree with your statement- the past is what defines the present and the future. The price history of BTC is what defined and pivoted its trajectory towards the success it is facing. Bearing that in mind, everyone may dream of achieving such scenario.

Though this may be the case, I do think that the current price of BTC now may be much higher 10-15 years from now. I always remind myself to HODL my BTCs and save it. Who knows that maybe in the future, its price may even skyrocket further.

Other people's experiences will be an early warning that we need to evaluate so that we don't make the same mistakes.

To turn back time and go back to the time when Bitcoin was not yet in great demand, it would be everyone's desire and then buy a lot.
Yes, but that will only be a fantasy, will never happen.

What needs to be fixed without the need for a time machine is how we understand trading well, understand cryptocurrency so that any current opportunity can take advantage of it to benefit. All will have the same opportunity, depending on how we will start.

Another method is to learn from the mistakes of others, I have never invested in a meme coin and when I saw the results the majority of them have gotten with their investments in those coins I decided long ago to never invest in them, a decision that probably saved myself a great deal of money, because as we know those coins can experiment periods of extreme volatility and during those periods investors can lose a great deal of their capital in just a few weeks.
Big mistake when holding meme coins for long term, ever invested on meme coins and holding although earned profit more than 10x keep hold until price drop and removed liquidity on exchange dapp. I learned from this mistake never invest again in meme coin or hold it more than one week. We made many mistake and should learned all what have to do next time when investing in cryptocurrency and bad experienced not never gonna repeated again. Right now more careful and selective when investing in meme coin or decision for short term or long term holding some coin because not in accordance with the expected expectations.

That's right but that's not the point of the original topic, it talks about the could've been things for many of us, it indulges our fantasies even just for awhile and I think that what OP is trying to point out here is that even if we have the machine, there's still uncertainty and we won't be able to predict accurately what could possibly happen.
You're right on the latter that even somebody or all of us goes back, true to that that we'll still be uncertain with Bitcoin since we knew the early days of it weren't really good at all and it's full of backlashing and only a few trusts it.

Precisely. It’s the time when bitcoin was still very cheap and everyone can afford to buy. If I have known and believed in bitcoin earlier, probably I could have made the maximum purchase of bitcoin store in my portfolio and might have gained massive profits way back 2017 when it’s price had surged to its highest peak. But in reality, there’s no time machine wherein you can correct your mistakes. What’s more crucial is now, and take advantage of every opportunity that comes in the market so we won’t keep reminiscing and regretting about the past.
That's what we're all saying but, the reality is even it's infront of us and too cheap, I don't think that the majority of us will buy it. So, these are all just discussions but putting ourselves into such situation will just make us think that we won't be feeling regret or at least we feel it but also accepting the reality of what actions we'll do from there.

Lol, good one mate you caught me there. When reading your reply I thought you would say something similar to buying as much as you can as the price has suddenly risen ten times since it early years. But if am I to go back I would definitely sell my whole stuff which is not useful and my little land I inherited from my dad and put it all in an investment in bitcoin but that if I knew the price is going to rise this much.

Mistakes are good as long as you are learning from them. If you keep on making the same mistakes over and over without learning from them and improving yourself, then those mistakes are harmful. Past is past, and we can't turn the time back. So our focus should be on our future. What we can do now is to improve ourselves, rather than thinking what we could have done. If you think that you were able to do certain things in the past, you are able to do it now too. Taking the first step is always difficult, but when you do so, everything becomes easy as you go forward.
Another way to improve is to make mistakes and learn from them. Traders and investors make critical mistakes on a daily basis, and while some learn their lessons, others continue to make the same mistakes until their accounts are depleted. It's critical that we understand the negative and positive consequences of our market decisions; I can't afford to lose any money right now. Every day, I work on improving and studying the market; a day does not go by without me opening a crypto-related PDF to read; as the expression goes, "practice makes perfect."
