If I received random Bitcoin from someone then of course I would return it if that person can really explain the situation.
The person has to talk to me first if he or she does not say anything I am also going to stay silent with the persons coins.

Mistaken I have sent to wrong bitcoin address, but haven't got it back. If I get some by mistake will try to find the right bitcoin address and return it back.
Saying it is very easy, suppose someone sends you 1 bitcoin how can you return it friend ?
I think it is impossible and even the richest will get a thought to keep it and not return until you sound like a scammer on not returning.

The only good thing to do is to return. Just think about an option that the person who accidently sent you 100BTC is some kind of criminal.
Keeping it would make you fear your life.

For that reason alone I would return it. Not being able to sleep because you have stolen money from a probable criminal is a guarantee for a fearful life.

But I bet a lot of people would keep it, which illustrates their dark mind.

Not only me no one can return bitcoin that they are received randomly or mistakenly. Everyone in the world is working just for money and if they get free money than how they will get back this money or bitcoins??  But i have believe that there are some  people that will return the bitcoins if they received by mistake but if the person want back that money Tongue
Very very true, we all are here and talking to earn money and bitcoins and when we get it for free why will we return it ? really it will have no convincing reasons other than karma related things. I think only people to return would be the ones who are pressurized for returning it.

I will return it. It is not my money any way. The original sender might be worried about the loss of money.

I would most definitely try to return it yes. But I'm not naive, what if I receive more than 100 BTC...we all have our price for everything in life, I'm not saying that I won't do it but I'm sure temptation will start to creep on me. Hopefully I would have the strength to do the right thing.

I do not think so . I thought it was a gift. I do not know who sent it. and certainly the sender has been consider carefully the bitcoin address. I consider it is luck for me.
It would also be risky. For example, if the coins came from an exchange, the addresses are usually one-time use. Sending them back would pretty much mean you threw those bitcoins to the exchange owner's face. They'll appreciate it.

i would prefer sending back but i really do not know how to find the real sender.
Be honest dude.If a legendary member would have said this then i would have agreed 20%.I dont think any newbie who dont have bitcoins would return any bitcoins.Atleast i would not have returned
different in the mouth, different in the heart if this case has real happened to some one, but I'm not offensive but I think it's a fact. but I'm not really sure with everyone just say they want to return back the amount to the sender. but it's just for my personality.

Let's say you wake up some day and you get like 1 BTC. For me this is a lot. What do you do? You return back the BTC to the owner, do you keep it? and why.

I don't know what I would do to be honest. I mean who knows if the guy that just sent you this is a criminal or a good man? Very tough decision. For someone like me that has a small BTC wallet and is trying to make as much BTC as possible before its too late due price going too high, it would be hard to return it, but I would feel bad to keep it too.

If you have conscience. Then give it back. But if not, then claim it as your own. Because that's the fault of the sender. They can never locate who you are, where you are or what are you doing right now. The only thing they know about you is your BTC address. Just accept it and claim it as your own if you want.

I would think its best to give it back; after all, you didnt earn. Before you return it, you should check though if anyone didnt give it to you as a gift.

I will send it back as it is not my money. There is no reason not to send it back. But I will deduct the transaction fees.

I think its totally depend up on thinking of independent individual. As some of will think to send it back or some of will think to keep it.

I think there is no mercy for mistake. Its goodness of person who will return back amount to receiver address.
That's not an acceptable case. The only thing that's acceptable is if you have a scenario where you need the coins in emergency, that might be an excuse but you should return it to specific address once you can provide a certain money. It's like borrowing the funds that accidentally sent to you.

Probably not, knowing that BTC addresses are almost just random characters, no one would accidentally send you BTC. Someone wouldn't accidentally send you BTC because he accidentally changed a letter or two in the address. If I see a random amount going to my account, then I probably did something that made me earn that.

But if someone would contact me right after I received the bitcoins and say that he pasted the wrong address in the "recipient" part, then I might be in a good mood and send it back.

I think you'd have to return it for a number of reasons. Obviously being an honest person is one but also it's pretty easy to track addresses & spends. If it was a large amount of bitcoin I wouldn't want people trying to track me & link my addresses etc.

So I guess getting a tip of 10BTC randomly would bother you. First of all, why would you be scared or worried about it? What if the sum would be sent randomly to you, and after you send it back that guy tips it to someone else? You never know. It happened to me and I didn't get my sum back. It was only 0.005, but still. It's not your fault.

No. I don't see why would I do this, because I would think it's a donation from somebody. I've seen people randomly tipping money, I've seen a guy tipping 0.5BTC to a random user on PrimeDice. I wouldn't.

I said above mistake because making transaction of bitcoin is not a joke or time pass part, its very sensitive think to access wallet and make transaction. If you receive any amount by mistake its not quite possible but if happened then its a mistake of sender. So there will no mercy for mistake.
