Those that bought bitcoin and ignored the latest iphone during the period those previous model above (in the image) were launched have made a better financial decision and anybody thinking of getting the new iphone when you already have a perfectly working phone should rethink that decision and invest the money in buying Bitcoin. You'll be getting around BTC0.031 +/-  which will be worth more in the future than the amount you'll spend to buy it while that new Iphone will lose value in the next 12 months. if you really what to get something relating to apple then buy their stocks instead of the devices (that's another means of diversifying your portfolio, if you think you already have enough Bitcoin secured for the future).
It’s a question of asset and liability.
While bitcoin might not be solely an asset with it serving as a currency and depending on your financial status or a prevailing circumstance which might require one having to sell all or a portion of there portfolio to satisfy wants or need, it still speaks volumes to invest in bitcoin compared to having a large part of your income sinked in an asset that have its value dropped in less than 12months.
Don’t forget, this is the Apple business and it’s something that have grown to be very vital in them winning in there lane, people buying brands because of unnoticeable upgrades. It’s always not worth it most times.

Meanwhile, this is just an item out of the many least of commodities people spend there money on. It becomes a matter of proper planning and importance to value what you buy and why you must have it and even quantify its validity in years and not make a good decision that you would regret within months.

And if you don't get satisfied with it, just do this:
1. Install an iOS-style launcher.
2. Download a skin, theme, or icon pack.
3. Get some iOS-style apps.
4. Apply a new lock screen.
5. Update your Quick Settings with a Control Center app.
6. Try an iOS emulator.

Buying an iphone just for texting, taking photos  and calls and not for business purpose is purely a wasteful spending. It's dumb to spend money on a phone that has an expiring value of at most 12months and a new set coming into the market with a difference of one or two added features. Even if I don't want to buy bitcoin I can buy a plot of land with an iPhone 14pro amount and in the next 12 months that land value will surely appreciate.

People that are crazy for iphones are no different from gambling addicts that spends money they could use to invest on promising businesses that will be profitable in the future.

Only a handful of people need the new hi-end model every year.

That would be famous people that are getting a perk for showing off the phone so that morons that do not need it keep buying one.

Also a handful of business types need to 'look' impressive.

The reality is you can't replace the battery it will not last a long time and when reception is poor they don't work.

If I am using a phone and the reception is poor it is annoying but I spent say 300 on a samsung a53 and the moron next to me spent 1000 plus on his new iPhone.  we both don't have service but I have 700 worth of btc sitting in a wallet.

I agree with the OP. I don’t think that the functionality of the new iPhone has increased significantly with the new model. Apple loves advertising and will create new products as he runs his business, which makes sense. But what will change in a person who has a new model? To me, these are just games of vanity. Possessing a new gadget and showing your imaginary wealth is not always right. It is much better to have Bitcoins in stock, not to disclose them to everyone, but to be sure that over time your capital will grow, unlike a gadget, the price of which in a year will be much lower.

Apple iPhones are insanely expensive toilet paper.  What I mean by that is you buy it to toss it in  a fairly short time.

You do not buy a new iPhone today to keep it for 6 or more years more likely 3 years is when you get a new one .

100% correct, most people are just buying phones for 3 years or so, and Apple designs the software so that it's no longer useful after a certain amount of time (apps will no longer work, you can't get new apps, web pages on iOS Safari break eventually etc.)

But if you buy an used iPhone, the price isn't really expensive and the quality is still almost same like the new one.

That's even worse than buying a new iPhone because it's useful life has already been reduced just by waiting all those years between launch and purchase. Actually I would argue that buying older-gen iPhones from an apple store is very bad value because it brings their expiration date forward by 1 or 2 years - assuming you're actually trying to keep it for long term.

In my opinion, Iphone is mostly used by businessman or any people who need to increase their prestige value in front of their customers or relations. so if we are not part of those people then it will be better for us to invest in bitcoin rather than buy Iphone that will be worthless for us. smartphone product life cycle is like falling shooting star. the highest price is when it first launched to the market, after the price is not profitable anymore then the company will launch another one.

It amazes me how people who are not financially buoyant struggle so much to be socially acceptable based on the wrong things. If you have the money and have numerous investments, buying the new iPhone 15 isn't an issue, it's your money, but if you're a struggling person, a person where money is still your problem why spend that amount of money on a phone that won't last you more that 24 months. In fact after 12 months that phone becomes an older version. I see no reason for that other than peer pressure.

Some might argue they need it for their work, Well, this might be true but are you saying if a new version of an iPhone isn't available you can't do your work?

So I can attest that if you have some BTC, it isn’t always the best idea to dump it for a new shiny thing, although I’m about to make the same mistake with a Tesla.

I have no single right to tell you how to use your money but I'm going to just say it anyway. There's a saying that before you buy a luxury want, make sure you can afford it at least twice. There's no point saving up to buy something that's not a need you can't afford more than one.

If you can easily afford it without having to work your ass off and depriving yourself of other things because you're saving for it then I feel you buy whatever you want. What's the point of having money if you can't spend it?
I hope this doesn't come out as entitlement or policing or anything of the sort.

I buy all valid country Gift cards swiftly.
Let me sound it again
CHOOSE BITCOIN was told, writing in capital and bold letters simply means you're shouting, hence I'm now shouting it that we should buy bitcoin especially  for those who can afford it.
Most persons see using and buying luxury as achievements, maybe I'm the only observing this or is it because I can't afford them?
Well I'm pretty sure that I've got greater responsibilities than owing luxury simply because I want to impress people around me which I will never do.

Now my kinda advice is do whatever pleases you but always remember there is a repercussion to it and if owning the latest luxury is fine to you then go for it else buy bitcoin.

New iPhone 14 price was $999, while the second hand price is already $700-$750 right now, it's only a year. Usually a cellphone can be used up to 5-6 years, so it's a good trade for me.

iPhone is always better than Android if you're active uploading video and picture in social medias because even though you've use a high end Android, the quality of your picture and video will get compressed.

In my opinion, Apple products are overrated and have zero intrinsic value. It’s crazy how these gadgets cost so much and lose value as soon as another new product is released. I would rather buy a vintage watch than buy a series smart watch, the vintage watch is an investment and if I choose to sell in the future, I can easily find a collector who will pay good money for it.

For a person who earns a six figure salary annually, spending $2000 on a mobile phone wouldn’t affect his lifestyle, but it is reckless for someone who earns less and has little or no savings to consider buying the latest iPhone.

There is nothing wrong if someone financially free will buy an iPhone or any gadget that depreciates. Sometimes we have to spoil ourselves if we truly deserve it and you've worked hard and waited for it for a long time. The problem is, that those people who don't have the capacity and even taking loans to buy these gadgets. This has become a status symbol for every class and Apple has successfully injected that in the minds of every kind of this world. So, if you're not able to and you've just got an exact amount, you can invest it in Bitcoin and wait until the new launches comes so you can buy this current latest cheaper in the future. Yes, the features will be as is and there will be more features but one has to analyze his own financial capacity and I agree to OP that instead of buying it, invest it first and save the best for last because you'll never know how much your current money will be if placed into investment like Bitcoin. You may even be able to buy as many as you can in the future and this is what we call delayed gratification.

Sadly, many will prefer to buy an iPhone than make an investment. The rationale behind this decision beats me. I have been seeing a lot of excitement on social media about the release of the new iPhone 15 products, the phone has very little improvements from the previous versions but still iPhone customers are eager to get the latest iPhone. Maybe it’s a confidence boost or a need to associate with a luxurious brand that drives people to buy iPhones even when they cannot afford it.

People always wanted to brag and one that allows them is to buy expensive items such as iPhones.  Although I am not a fan of the iPhone many of my friends are and they even ask for a loan to buy it.

It is really crazy if we think of the money spent on these expensive things and put it in Bitcoins instead but then we can't argue with them.  Their money, their rule.  We are not paying for them when they buy expensive items so let them be.  At least we know how to take advantage of the knowledge about Bitcoin's profitability so better do the savings ourselves but I do not think that we are getting the same kind of profitability today as way back in 2011.

If people are as wise as you OP, then they will not be rushing to invest their money into apple iPhones but will buy as much as bitcoin as they can because that will definitely give them significant profits in time. However, with the desire to ride the trend and the fear of missing out, people will not be blamed if they allocate some funds into their favorite iPhones. But at least they should know that it’s value will never upgrade after a couple of months, but only bitcoin will surely skyrocket its value after months and years from buying.

So in retrospect, the cheapest iPhone is actually the most expensive in bitcoin!

I get people who are really keen about buying these "pseudo-luxury" items. The fact that this elevates their innate status amongst their friends (you can't deny that copping the latest iPhone is one of the biggest conversation starters amongst friends) is one of the biggest reasons why they buy these. Another would be the fact that for the most part, these phones are perfected to a T. They may not have the latest specs or the fastest processors nor the best refresh rates out there, but you can bet your bottom dollar that whatever feature they offer, you can guarantee that they have made it as perfect and tailor-fitted to the user's needs as much as possible. Plus it's just so cool having an iPhone in your pocket. Call me materialistic or something but there's this certain form of ego-boost that one gets when they know they have the latest device, let alone an iPhone.

So you can't really fault your friend for having the latest iPhone just cause she likes it. It could've been that there are a lot more reasons under the surface that she's just not able to convey to you.

Buying high-value items like an Iphone is not a passion for me. Of course I like the iPhone and I could buy one, but I'm unlikely to buy one right now because I'm trying to focus on building an investment portfolio.

I once read that there are times when you should enjoy whatever you have now and not chase too much into something that is uncertain about the future. Apart from that, you can still use part of your income to buy these items, but still maintain the investment amount. So far I've made adjustments about that, meaning I still need to make ends meet while building a portfolio. My conclusion, buy if you need it and invest the rest.

This is a great demonstration of the beauty of Bitcoin. Imagine how many Bitcoin was worth IPhone in 2011! This is truly humbling.

Just like the OP said, history will always repeate itself; Bitcoin will always grow in value while austentatious commodities will always depreciate in value. I just hope this post can inspire us to put our money "where neither moth nor rust can destroys them"

My privacy, my right.

Just imagine the profits that would have been if those that bought the new iphone during the release date of those model above bought bitcoin instead. Avoid making same mistakes and choose bitcoin.
Humans and luxury as so inseparable of a truth. Only that there are those that don't know when you live a luxurious lifestyle and not to. There's always time to live luxuriously with ostentatious items and services but there's always a time to invest. People that made investment yesterday their profits can't be compared to those that starts today, same way those that will start today to invest in bitcoin (rather than buying luxurious gadgets that will lose value tomorrow) will also have profits that can't be compared to those that will want to wait till tomorrow to invest .

Items like iPhone is never an asset but a liability that you have to maintain while in use but bitcoin doesn't demand any maintainance after purchasing which is why it's wise to buy that which adds to your pocket and not things that takes from you and also loses value with time.
