Thank you Brainboss, the thing is many at times we spent our money on frivolities not realizing that they are not really worth it. Imagine the money spent on a single phone which could have been a huge financial investment. Some persons even makes it a habit of changing their iphone every year as a new version enters the market, and the funny thing is there's no much difference between the old and new versions. Imagine if this money were to be invested in Bitcoin instead, it would have make a lot of difference. For some of us that are not prudent with our financial dealings, I can only hope that we learn from this and make a wise decision.

I fully agree with the OP and respect your thoughts. But unfortunately, a lot of people are not familiar with Bitcoin, but they have been buying iPhones. On the other hand, those who have been buying iPhones actually have enough money to buy Bitcoin as well. It's not necessary to buy Bitcoin instead of an iPhone. Because poor people would never buy an iPhone anyway, it's not a cheap thing. So they could invest in Bitcoin as well if they intend to do so. I just need to become interested in Bitcoin. You can say it's like an addiction to use an iPhone. Like we are smoking and drinking, we can't say to invest in Bitcoin instead.

We know that people are really that stubborn when it comes to tech and something which is really that on trend which including this Apple craze whenever there's a new model that would
pop out on which there would be people who would really be dying on owning one no matter what the cost. There are even people who do really end up on getting some  sugar daddies
just to acquire one and dont mind on what would really be that exchange of that.

Just like myself on which my mobile phone is aged 3 years old already and i dont have that kind of mindset that being active on replacing my unit which as long as it works
then there's no way for me to consider on getting a new one or whats the latest. Its true that technology do always improved and enhanced on which unit models
would continue to have newer model as years passing by.

Iphone is doing alot of upgrade these days. I could remember saying to someone earlier this year of how I would join the iphone trend once it gets to 16. It seems sooner than expected I can assure, because the upgrades are pointing toward that.
It sure makes sense to get a new iphone, if it's slightly higher in price than the old one, if it is a tool for making money in the hands of its owner like for trading, photo shoot on the instant, Bitcointalk campaigns, others. It would be a good investment.
 
Also taking advantage of opportunities like freebies and black Friday sales and other contest to win an iphone is worth a shot, rather than first time buying where ones income isn't much to afford data or personal maintenance. HoDLing or DCA investment strategies would do more good in the long run for this instance, by multiplying the returns upon end of selected duration, then one can afford such luxury cheaply.

I am good with my Google Pixel device. I never thought of owning an Apple device. Mine is outdated but if it works then it works. I will keep on using it until it is not usable anymore. I don't know why people are so eager to own an Apple smartphone and why this hype every time they launch a new product. It is good and maybe the best in the market, but when I can achieve the same performance from a cheap alternative, why go for Apple? It never makes sense to me so I don't know what it is.

Thanks for this post tho. We are very close to the next halving and most likely the next bull run. So, many people can invest in Bitcoin rather than buying the new cutting-edge technology device(LOL) from Apple. Think about the future people and enjoy the present too. But do it in such way that you can keep on enjoying it in the future too.

It's literally a brand to buy just to flex with everyone since we all know that iPhone is pricey even in other countries. Clout chasing and the peer pressure you feel when there's a new release model of iPhone is actually normal but it would really depends on the person on how they could handle it. Cause if you think it's really unnecessary despite the fact you can afford to buy an iPhone since your phone still working, then that's good a practicality and there's some people would still buy one even for a loan and a monthly pay. Just invest tho or save cause when you gain more profits, you could just easily buy one with no hassle of budgeting.

Unpopular opinion here, but if your (i) phone is wearing out and approaching its end-of-life, like say the 5 or 6, then it actually makes sense to buy a new phone as you will have to do that sooner or later anyway.

I'm not sure how much longer my 6S has for running anyway. So might make sense for me to upgrade during the next price supercycle.

Similar logic applies for Android users but for newer Android phones.

I do agree that just upgrading to have the latest and greatest every year is a waste of money though.

Nothing but the best advice, this is something in the next 10-12month the apple company will launch a latest version of iPhone and the previous will lose much value compare to the value of what it has today.  Money is meant to be spent on things we need but their are somethings that is not worth spending money on just like that, expecially things that can lose value so fast. It is better to spend money on things like bitcoin that can add more value than to spend money on things with no value over time.

While of course you are right and I 100% agree with your points, I do kind of understand why there are people who spend hundreds of dollars for new Apple "toys"/devices. There are people who need to have the latest gadgets for their jobs, I'm talking about social media personalities who use technology for content (I mean those YouTube channels that make reviews and reactions about the latest gadgets in town). There is also another set of social media personalities or "influencers" that need to be on top of the trend in order to attract more attention and be "relevant" for their target audience (mostly teenagers who love seeing others buying luxury stuff they themselves cannot afford). As a waste of money and ridiculous as it is in our eyes, it's what they do and it actually works for them in their field.

People tend to only care about their own lifestyle i guess , but i didnt get it either. They only saw about those phone models and think that was looked awesome , i just cant fathom about Steve Jobs Charging stupid amount of money for a feature that you could also get on android lol.

Ignorance is what is disturbing some people and they know nothing abd yet aren't willing to learn or move it those that could give them the right and best advice, there have been alot of people who are freaked in buying expensive things yet they don't know that everything has time and season with buying these luxury items to showcase themselves that they have money instead of them investing, they are moving with the wrong people, taking the wrong decision and wasting of time and resources.

People in the world of cryptocurrency really understand this and of course, we are already literate about the possible outcome of the bitcoin and profits might give in the future, the reason some people keep buying new things is that they want to keep in a trend even though other people who don't have a budget to become classy they will surely buy an iPhone to make sure they are on the trend like other people. Buying a new phone is not bad if you really need an upgrade but a working phone that still caters to your needs and spending money because of this trend is just a waste decision. If those people become literate with this they don't need to become an impulsive buyer.

Peer pressure is the reason why some people go ahead to buy these phones even when they do not need it. Some people are not even comfortable enough financially, but they struggle and make unnecessary sacrifices just so they can buy these phones and be proud that they are among the first set of people to use these phones. There is no prize for it. These kinds of gratifications are what distracts people with little financial discipline into not being able to hold money. Buy what you need, not the things you want. Now is the time to keep bitcoins, not use them unnecessarily.

having the latest iPhone or other luxury items can be a status symbol. people may feel pressure to keep up with their peers or to project a certain image. this desire for status can lead some individuals to make purchases they may not be able to comfortably afford. but there are other people who understands, this are the wrong things to waste money on and they save money for emergency or invest it for gains.

Phones are considered an indispensable need in today's life, without a phone or computer we cannot invest in bitcoin. But depending on each person's economic conditions, we have suitable choices for ourselves. I don't see anything wrong if someone is economically well-off and they want to change their phone to serve their needs, but it would be a stupid mistake if we put all our assets into buying an iPhone to follow technology and show off to everyone.

I am also an Iphone user but have no intention of changing because I don't want to waste money while my current Iphone is still working very well. But if it later becomes too old or damaged, buying a new iPhone is not a matter of comparison or debate. Because it is also serving my life and work.

There are people who really like to show off or don't want to be left behind  but I don't say it is wrong. As long as you can afford it then it's good but if you are having a hard time buying it and you need to take out a loan on it then it shouldn't be worth getting. Also it is a liability and not an asset for you unless it is intended for something from which you'll earn a profit. It is better to invest it in something like Bitcoin. If ever I have an extra with that same amount I would prefer to invest it in crypto rather than buying a phone.

I am the kind of person who if my phone is still working and is still good even if the LCD is broken as long as it works I wouldn't buy a phone and if I did it would be cheap. We should be more focused on earning than spending because the price of everything is so high right now due to inflation.

Showing off with the latest iphone is what so many people are doing, and they forget that the money that they use to buy new iphones every year will give them a good number of satoshis. It is better to invest for the future, rather than buying liability for yourself. If you already have one, you don't need to get a new one the next year because there wouldn't be any big difference in it. Bitcoin will give you profit as the time passes on if you keep on holdi and investing. Imagine that you bought yourself the new iphone and it was a very busy day for you that you mistakenly fell the phone on the ground and the screen went blank or stolen. Iphones are expensive toys that is used to get money out from most people that loves showing off with their money, and also for those who thinks that life is all about competition.

Imo Apple products are no longer the best price/performance gadgets and way to spend even free money. Lately, they barely surprise with something new, during start of sales gadgets price is way to high and gadgets lose price to quick (basically every year with release of new models). But, I think it isnt correct to make such comparisons if we talk about investing. Investing into buying Apple gadget on sales start with aim to resell them isnt profitable anymore, as there is no deficit of them anymore on the start.
