University of Washington researchers in the journal "addiction" the report said, as long as the drunk once, will have an impact on the brain for a year, lead to drink the next year will become worse, and more susceptible to vomiting, coma. So, don't drink.

I don't rrally believe this. Of course if you drink excessively for extended periods, i think thats the time that these negativr effects will take effect. Almost everyone is drinking alcohol around the world and we all know it can be harmful if we don't do it right. We don't need any resesrch or any doctors to tell us that

Well you are right. It's quite a bit extreme to tell people to just 'stop drinking'. All things really are bad when taken to the extremes. Drinking on its own especially beer and wine is actually proven to have good impacts on men's health, only if taken moderately.

Drinking wine has its own benefits. But I don't think that the consumption of beer is more beneficial than detrimental to the health. Beer should be avoided, especially by diabetics and obese people.

The problem with alcohol is not alcohol itself but they way people use it, if you drink a few beers when you watch football with your friends then any bad effect of alcohol is going to be very mild, but the problem is that people drink until they are wasted, some try to drive or perform other dangerous activities while drunk, that is the real problem.

Regular drinking a lot of alcohol is harmful, be sure. My father drank alcohol whole my childhood as I remember it and 15 years ago he was partially paralysed by a stroke. He was not so old.

I'm sorry for you father, but I think other factors may have contributed to his stroke and not just by drinking. Maybe he has vices like smoking or too much fatty food that cause it but I don't think drinking alcohol is the single factor for his stroke. I have a lot of relatives who got stroke as well but they too had drinking problem but they eat fatty foods and smoke a lot that got them to be sick.

It is a funny report i should say. If you are taking liquor once in a while then there is no harm in doing so.I do consume once in a while and i don't think it will affect my health in any way possible. The problem occurs when you are an addict .

Drinking alcohol is no good at all .its just a waste of money .and i even ask myself why the hell alcohol drinking was started ? It is so stupid . Even when i drank wine or any other drinks it didnt effect me in any way .

Alcohol is just another food item. And don't call it a waste of money. If you call alcohol as a waste of money today, then tomorrow you will say that caviar, foie gras, and Beaufort cheese are a waste of money.

Yes. buying alcohol is not a waste of money because you actually enjoy consuming when you drink it. Also drinking alcohol diminish your stress level and somewhat relax your body but it also lessen your decision making. So I think you need to set your limit if you are going to go out and socialize and drink with your friends.

Exactly. Also, it is a matter of personal freedom. In my country, there are a lot of anti-alcohol activists. These people are very irritating, and sometimes they forcibly close down liquor shops. What is their problem, as no one is forcing them to drink alcohol?

Wine reduces blood clotting, strengthens blood circulation, increases blood flow in our veins.

Two double rakı

1- It opens blood vessels and relieves blood circulation.
2-Due to sufficient blood flow, brain functions are accelerating and the whole body relaxes.
3-A mixture of grapes and anise, helps the liver.

No doubt about that... Millennials are very much of a emotional people... Anyway, maybe that's the reason why those emo genre of music came in made by this new generations...  Smiley

Yeah. Creativity cares not about other impacts of the drivers of the creativity. For example, Jimi Hendrix overdosed.

Thanks for the good music. My generation produced for example Nirvana. Kurt Cobain also died of an overdose.

Kurt Cobain died of a lead overdose. I remember it well. Sad

I think drinking alcohol is not good for health. It can give you relax for some time, you can enjoy for some time, you don't feel bad for taking alcohol but you should know it's bad effect. It'sbad effect will  exist after ages and it can be dangerous. It exists or not it will harm u inside your body and it will kill you slowly slowly. So keep distance from alcohol is more better.

It's interesting how we here in EU(Serbia) and US see beer differently. Reading the OPs post, I got a feel like he's talking about a recreation drug. But yeah, everything is good in moderation, I don't like getting drunk and prefer coffee over alcohol but from time to time I really need a nice cold glass of dark beer.

Me too prefer coffee over alcohol. Whenever I need energy, I drink coffee (or rarely either Red Bull or Monster Energy). But when I need to relax, I drink beer (in moderate amounts, around 1,000 ml to 1,500 ml a time).

It's just important to keep everything in moderation, just like alcohol, video games, sleeping,etc.. But alcohol won't have that kind of an impact in your life if you don't become an alcoholic, I have a friend that loves to drink, every celebration he's getting shitfaced but dude is a number one handball player in younger league.
Sure it's not for long. Alcohol and sport are not compatible. While he's young reserve of the body allows him to recover quickly. Over time the recovery period will increase and at some point he will not recover at all.

I don't even know why people drink alchohol first of all it does not taste good

This means that you haven't tasted good alcohol. You develop a taste for various varieties of alcohol, such as vodka, whisky, rum, and gin. Non-drinkers will not understand this. And more importantly, we don't drink alcohol just for its taste. Alcohol helps use to relax, and if you are drinking with your friends, it gives you a sense of camaraderie.

I'm concerned with a common theme in the responses here.  Moderation in everything, not any excess, many people say.  So after some thinking, aided by a rum and coke (coke in moderation) I figured,

Work needs to be in moderation.  Not 10-12 hours per day, but 1 or 1.2.
Putting up with assholes and complete jerks needs to be in moderation.
Being yelled at for working 1 or 1.2 hours pe day definitely should be in moderation.
Drinking rum should be in moderation.  Perhaps only once per week.
Drinking beer should be in moderation.  Only one can and only once per week.  Therefore choose a large can, like the 5 liter Heineken draft can.

I'm thinking I'm on to something here.
