Well, as long as you drink only for relaxing a little bit I don't think it's a problem. But you must not let the alcohol take control over your life.
I know someone who lost everything in his life because of the alcohol (house, wife, kids). He was very dependant of alcohol, couldn't do anything without it.
I don't want to scare you off or something, but he also started at first only drinking in the weekends, just for relaxation. But somewhere along the way, something went terrible wrong. So please be carefull.

Alcohol drinking is good until you drink it in a limit. As you already know that overdose of even a medicine can kill. So Don't do excessive drinking as it leads to kidney failure, Mental Unstability etc.

Hi guys. Just wanted to know whether drinking is good or bad for our health...first of all i drink every weekend because i feel refreshed after a heavy week of work..  After i drink i take a lot of food and have a nice sleep....I do not have any kind of headache or anything after drinking but will it affect me in the future.... My dad almost drinks everyday right from his childhood may b at the age of 18 but my dad is healthy and strong even after drinking so many years... Thanks to god for that....... Any way,  When it comes to your health, is it better to drink or not to drink?

I won't say that not to drink would be better because i think whats bad for anyone here would be excessive drinking. And i don't know about you but for most people drinking too much is unadvisable if you ask any doctor. I think if you do it occassionally there may even be some health benefits but as with anything that is taken in excess, too much alcohol would definitely affect your health in a bad way

Yes, you are correct. At times when i a bit of excess alcohol then i feel tired, have headache and other things. Also, i do not drink often as i dont get a chance to.

In the excess, to much alcohol can be a pain in the throat.
Sore throat may be only if you use pure alcohol. It is very few people use this. Basically it is the extreme North of Russia. Another thing is that in the case of the use of alcohol in any form can lead to poisoning of the body. This is manifested in the form of vomiting.

I agree with you. In large volumes even medicines become poison. All you need to know the measure. In a small amount of alcohol helps to relieve stress, thins the blood and cleanses the blood vessels. What's wrong with that?

I am a bit confused. I know a lot of people, who got ruined as a result of their addiction to alcohol. A few of them died from medical reasons such as liver disease, while the others got involved in offenses such as driving under the influence. But even then, I believe that it is up to the individual to decide whether he want to intake alcohol or not.

Change the alcohol to weed. It's much much better form of relax after hard work and it isn't bad for your health.
Small amounts of alcohol are helpful actually but that' up to 2 glasses of wine to dinner.

Dude i have tried smoking weed. This is totally different from alcohol but the weed which we get is not of good quality and they mix some kind of powder to it

No doubt about that... Millennials are very much of a emotional people... Anyway, maybe that's the reason why those emo genre of music came in made by this new generations...  Smiley

Yeah. Creativity cares not about other impacts of the drivers of the creativity. For example, Jimi Hendrix overdosed.

Thanks for the good music. My generation produced for example Nirvana. Kurt Cobain also died of an overdose.

That emotional rollercoaster you are describing is training your brain to be emotionally unstable.
The dead brain cells are not the most significant threat. It is the threat to emotional stability which is the significant risk.

Wow, now I am aware, does it mean that alcoholics are prone to having bipolar disorder?  Cheesy

Ditto weed and all drugs (toxins with neurological effects on the dopamine, serotonin, etc receptors).

I checked those out on google - wikipedia, and it says it has something to do with the brain...

P.S. besides as a male you need to be working on your masculinity not on satiating and becoming a slave to your emotions. This is the battle for maturity that you face, and unfortunately Millennials are being bombarded with feminism.

i think the impact is not for short term but its always in long term, drinking alcohol is not good for our health because soon or later, our health will be drop and if we continue to drinking alcohol too much in a day, then our health will be get sick. drinking alcohol is like consume drugs. we are fine for one or two years, but imagine if we still consume for more than five years or more, then i think we can get a ticket to meet the angel of death.

... But it's true, it makes me feel better the next day, I wake up earlier compared to other days that I don't drink... I feel a bit happier because..

Some says in the research that alcohol if taken in moderation, it could kill dead brain cells, and if over used could damage your brain and liver...

Well, I guess, nothing in alcohol that changes me physically, except the time when I feel sleepy due to high amount that I intake... But it's true, it makes me feel better the next day, I wake up earlier compared to other days that I don't drink... I feel a bit happier because my friends visited my house and we have fun jamming with my musical instruments...

Usually during days that there is no one to jam with me at night, I drink alone, but only few shots... I have a lot of left overs of brandy and I am drinking it few shots a night... I could say that I am not alcoholic, as I don't drink if I don't want and I am opt to do something important...

Some says in the research that alcohol if taken in moderation, it could kill dead brain cells, and if over used could damage your brain and liver... I don't know if it's true, but maybe that's the reason why your father is feeling fine when he drinks alcohol liquor...  Smiley

I don't have the literature handy to back this up, but I am nearly certain that it trains the brain with cumulative deleterious effects at any dosage, although the higher the dose presumably the greater the impact. And some people are more susceptible than others. Statistically, browner races seem to be (genetically?) more prone to addiction (loss of self control) than whiter ones.

I think some of my poor decisions in life (emotional instability) could have been attributed to very heavy drinking on the weekends in high school and college. I totally quit in my 30s though, and am now ~52. In my case, I rationalized my heavy use as being effective at burning me out and not liking it later in life. But others may transition from heavy recreational use to addiction.

Perhaps exercise, sex, singing, dancing, arts, hobbies, and humor are alternative healthier means of releasing stress.

All I could say is, I drink each week with friends, but I never get to the point that I have to drink each night, it's not good for our health. We should be drinking in moderation only. Actually it feels good if you only drink few, just enough to make you feel a little dizzy. Abusing alcohol might also cause a liver damage. Another bad effect of it is you might start to forget your self and do something stupid.  Smiley

1. Everyone has different alcohol tolerance. Your father might be extra resistant to the negative effects of alcohol.
2. There is no way to tell if someone is completely healthy after drinking every day for many years. You need to do a full health checkup, especially find out what is status of your liver.
3. Everything in moderation is just fine. The problem is finding the right dose for you.
4. When drinking, make sure alcohol is not influencing your daily routine and you are not sick from from it, or feel addicted, if not, then I guess it is completely fine.
Alcohol dependence appears unnoticed. The harm builds up. You will not notice immediately but after it happens it will be too late. Always and everywhere should be the measure. If you feel that alcohol dependence does not threaten you.

Even without being "alcoholic", alcohol consumption has an influence on the development of many diseases: cancers, cardiovascular and digestive diseases, diseases of the nervous system and psychic disorders. Alcohol can also be the cause of more common difficulties (fatigue, too high blood pressure, sleep disorders, problems of memory or concentration, etc.). Excessive alcohol consumption is often associated with psychological disorders (anxiety and depression in particular). Abuse of alcohol can trigger depression. Conversely, a depressed person may seek alcohol in a way to combat this and thus develop excessive consumption.

However, even if alcohol consumption appears to provide well-being at the moment, it does not solve the person's difficulties, and on the contrary increases depression and anxiety. Moreover, even if alcohol helps to fall asleep, it impairs the quality of sleep and can cause insomnia.
In the first place in the world for the cause of death are cardiovascular diseases. Alcohol helps to deal with these problems. Of course this cripples other organs. Of two evils always choose the lesser. Do you agree?
