having a conversation with a friend today , he was asking me if he should sell or hold a coin. i didnt give a straight answer, i just told him the project is a good one that can do well but if you are willing to wait then you can hold but if you need some money then you can sell off. he then replied that he will wait for an additional 25% increase before he would sell off. i think i tried my best to let him make his final decision himself. is there any better way to do this? if it were you, how would you respond to this. ??
in market conditions like this you better hold your tokens, if you sell your tokens then you will miss a big opportunity when the market is bullish again in the future. I suggest you listen to your friends.

I think the answer you gave to your friend is correct. hard to convince someone. All decisions that we take are up to each of us. if it is already profitable then it is better to sell and buy back when the price drops if the coin is really good and has strong fundamentals. So do your own research before making a decision.

yeah right, it should always depends from the owner itself when deciding when to sell or buy their assets.
It's not good giving direct suggestions, as if the market move positively he might blame you for telling him to sell or to take actions.

Most of the time, those who managed to investigate further are the one who really maxinmize the benefits.

Though is not bad to take some words from other experienced people but always to start by doig your DYOR.

this case often happens to me, many of my friends always suggest whether their coins are more appropriate to hold or sell, I sometimes always find it difficult to give advice, I just say "if your capital is still losing it's best to hold it until it returns capital, and if it is profitable, sell it up to 10-20% profit"

If there is information about that coin, perhaps we will analyze it specifically and define it more clearly here.  All in all, if that person invests in, I'm sure he's already doing his own DYOR, only if you are interested in a certain project you will feel like you understand their everything, the roadmap,  directions, solutions they can improve.  I believe that person can get important information about what he believes in, so that he can set a 25% goal.  So I think only he has the best answer.
I also want to make sure he knows the fundamentals of the project you describe because not all holders have the right analysis, they only believe that the price will increase one day but tend not to know the progress of the project roadmap.

We have to know in advance what coins he bought, if shitcoins sell immediately if he get profit. But if popular coins are purchased with
strong fundamentals, it is better to HODL until it reaches the target he wants. But in the end the person who bought the coins had to make
a decision, when investing in crypto don't rely too much on other people's advice. He must do the research and analysis, so that the decisions
taken are more satisfactory. Many people forget that we invest in crypto, we ourselves are responsible for the money we will use to buy coins.
So don't be lazy to learn to analyze the crypto market, so when making a decision, we don't need to rely on other people's advice.

I agree with that statement. if the potential increase can be at 25% why do we have to sell it. we better hold and wait until the maximum price. but if you need money to sell, it is one of the best options without sacrificing assets.

I thought it would be better to be hold.  Seeing the current situation Prices continue to increase, especially if you have an old altcoin with a quality project that continues to grow, you should hold it as a long-term investment.
The important point that must be noted here is what coins we can hold and what coins we can sell because basically not all coins we can hold in the long term.
Moreover, these non-volatile coins are not recommended to be bought and to be held for a long time.
if the coins are good in terms of fundamentals and volatility then please hold on because they still have potential but for shi**oin even though it has a loss I think you should sell it instead of turning it into dust later.

The market situation now is stuck, and tend to bearish, but this is almost at the end of bearish trend, IMHO. So if i were you, i will tell your friend to hold it bit more, the market can change in a week, and your friend can take profit more than 25% like what he said to you. Or you can say sell it now on your 25% target, but do not regret it while its come up after you sold it.
no one knows what will happen in the future with the market. I think it's better to hold it for now, by strengthening the person's psychology, he won't be worried even though the trend is bearish, because if you look at it now the decline is more than 50%, and that means there will be lots of opportunities to buy and make a profit.

Though as to the decision of buying and selling now, it's somehow difficult, because most of my fun are divided by two, so when it rise little, i normally wish to sell, but at the same time wish to hold, but I don't want to loose all my money, so it's somehow difficult for me.
There is no need to complicate your mind in such matters, as long as your capital has not been lost, then you can decide to sell it temporarily and at another time you can buy it again for profit if the opportunity arises.

Holding is a sort of commitment, not all are able to do it.
Holding it is a matter of how you trust and leave the confidence that particular coins will recover later. And sometimes we got disappointed.

Both holding and selling is an option, nobody could decide us what we have to do but just ourselves. Selling is simply taking the opportunity while the price is high. I know we all done with the selling as the market reaching its ATH. But as the market turns to bear season, selling will be in common, panic sellers do earlier.

There's better if you were actively reading the price conversion lately of Bitcoin. There was that time that it hit 29k for short period of time before it did its unstable price increase leading to that price range you mentioned. Smiley
Pretty good deal if you would ask me.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
If you look at the current market, I choose hold for long-term trading, because in my opinion the market has fallen above 50%, so there are still many opportunities to hold it. but this is indeed conditional, we have to look at market developments and of course observe the news that is happening. but again, we have nothing to lose, as long as we have patience

True. The current Market is range bound ( Bitcoin is moving from 30K to 36K)  and good opportunity to buy on every dip and keep accumulating, it will certainly bounce back, we need to hold our patience and wait for right time to sell our holding and book good profit. Once Bitcoin get bullish, Alts will follow it. I would suggest to invest only in Top 20 coins as they are all good projects.

It depends on what coin is your friend holding, it would be better if you include what coin is he holding so we can also suggest what he or she will do. If the coin that they are holding has the potential to grow in the future then it is better for him just to keep holding it, 25% should not be the target if they know how good the coin is.
I agree with you too. I believe HODLing should be in direct correlation with the type of coin the person is HODLing. If the project you have invested in is good enough then holding for a much longer time shouldn't be a problem because you know that it will always recover and they might eventually hold longer even after their initial 25% target has been reached.
So it all depends on your coin/token.
if you buy them at a high price, you have not choice but to hold them in order to save from losing but that only if you are investing in those promising coins. But sometimes, we are tempted to sell especially when we are hopeless while seeing the market every day were declining. That certainly be bothering for us that is why I'd challenge everyone if you are aiming to hold long-term better not to check your portfolio every day as it only gave you the reason to change your decision.

the potential for the market decline is still very large. this market may be experiencing a deeper correction but it will not be something so significant. the market looks strong although in a downturn we will see the situation quickly improve. but sometimes situations like this will only happen to top market assets, especially bitcoin. while for new altcoins, I'm not sure it will be fixed quickly.
but to hold assets I don't think it's too dangerous. I still believe that even though the potential for a market downturn is huge, it can all be resolved quickly.

The coins are holding an important role on up to how long you will hold them and so as the developers if they are really truthful on what they're talking about in their roadmaps. this is why the legit and fake projects are hard to distinguish because they are both promised things which more likely realistic where in reality those fake projects have nothing but their fake promises. You can advise your friends about the current situation about the projects he invested his money with but the only thing you guys can do is still hold the coins if you already bought some big amount of it until it reached the desirable amount on which you can sell them.
