If it died -- wouldn't there be bitcoin 2.0? 3.0? 4.0? that happens? faster and better than before? -- Bitcoin could be compared to the invention of the wheel - and now look at all the "wheels" we have --

It just had to get rollin' to get things goin' hahaha hahaha  Cool

I never thought that Bitcoin would die, because for me it is hard to judge that Bitcoin will die, because I think nobody knows about the fate of Bitcoin in the future, so let it run by itself, then just enjoy it. The current Bitcoin price. and do not think of anything uncertain.

How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?

I can only think of the cause of bitcoins death would be an idea to supersede it or a much better currency which will make people to use it other than bitcoins. The only way to kill bitcoin is to stop using it and so services and investors will stop also, circulations of bitcoins will stop and so it will be considered dead.  But that has a very low chance to happen.

Bitcoin will die when internet is also dead. Ofcourse  I do not believe that internet will cease to exist so Bitcoin will always be in existence. There will still be miners and merchants.

If new tecnhology better than blockchain gonna to be discovered then noone will pay attention to old system. Bitcoin itself is useless without blockchain and this system work together for a last years.

There is no exchanger, I fret if the Federal government prohibits exchangers settle for bitcoin for money laundry, avoid taxes and so forth. If there is no exchanger, surely bitcoin will die.
I think it’s not that much easy to stop the investors getting into bitcoin because they feel safe investing here, they get a huge profit and promising projects. It cannot die due to multiple reasons the foremost one is quick and easy ways of transferring, secondly a huge profit waits for the investors which is an attraction for the mass.
it is not as easy as we think to be bitcoin will die there should be a process just like it can make some big dumped and step by step nit in a way instant but anybody can predict but this is just a predictions we dont even know what is the possible and might happen in bitcoin what would be the reason why bitcoin will die.

As there is few chances of bitcoin die. If it will happen in future then there will be a crypto currency coin which replace bitcoin. Such that it will be more popular and valuable thing in that time.

When someone will able to crack the algorithm of bitcoin then for surely bitcoin will die.
The other reason is when the all countries of the world decides to ban the bitcoin.

I feel if the security is compromised then bitcoin would be taking a very big hit. In any case I don't see bitcoin dying completely. It's usage can only reduce.

In a situation where there would not be internet anymore because without internet there would be no bitcoin at all and no one would be able to earn or buy or even sell it that is i guess one of the things that would be able to kill bitcoin.
I agree with you because bitcoin need the internet to stay alive without internet this forum would never been here bitcoin would have never been made and we would still work at wall mart to support our family everyday.

I strongly agree with the fact that the only thing I can see the end of Bitcoins is when governments all over the world will unite against it and will put a ban against it. Nonetheless, as one have stated earlier in this thread, complete banning is impossible as one person or one country or some countries are responsible for its birth and proliferation in the market. Thus, unity to ban Bitcoins is not that feasible, at least, in the next 50 or so years. Perhaps I cannot foretell the end of Bitcoins because I believe it belongs to the future.
