Bitcoin will never die, unless all governments outlaw bitcoin unilaterally, and find a way to filter bitcoin web traffic. This is the main caveat of bitcoin; you have to get every last node to kill the whole network (decentralization FTW). But people could largely stop using bitcoin; this would only happen if the price took a major, epic dive ( im talking back to 1000). This would indicate a lack of trust/confidence. The only way I could see that happening is if a major exploit/vulnerability is found.

The blockchain and BTC can die in only one case, when you lost Internet and electricity.. the Apocalypse.. the price Reduction will not kill BTC and blockchain..

Well I think bitcoin will die only if its value zero, governments start banning bitcoin as a type of currency, and especially bitcoin will really die if all of the people who are using it stops using it.

one thing's for sure, no demand to use cryptocurrency which is not possible

I think so, it will die if no demand to use cryptocurreny but  as of this moment it is very impossible to happen because of the popularity of cryptocurrency and bitcoin. People are now into bitcoin , as we can see price of bitcoin lately is soarig highh, meaning more and more people is investing in bitcoin. so it is impossible that bitcoin will die.

I think the situation would bitcoin die is when our government ban bitcoin here in my country and my only way of my income here I definitely say it would die and many people disagree here of what our government did to bitcoin. Many bitcoin user here in my country trust bitcoin to help our daily needs and our parents needs.

I think the outrageous transaction costs and the slow transfer times is causing serious harm to Bitcoin. I don't think it could possibly die but its flaws are starting to become obvious. There might be room for another coin to take over if this gets worse.

bitcoin can only die if it is no longer accepted as a currency, means of exchange or there is strong government regulation not to use bitcoin.
Bitcoin will only die if there is no demand in the market. That is the very simple explanation on how bitcoin will die in the future. Bitcoin is only depending on the demand of the people in the market and as long as there are demands that is balancing or more than the supply then the bitcoin will stay alive.

Do you believe this would ever happen - I mean no demand for bitcoin? Currently seems unplausible to me. Seems like rather it will become a sort of a golden standard for cryptocurrency in the future... Or like gold now - always growing in the long term.

It's said that it was bought too much simply and a bubble economy would burst. It's also possible of course that a new virtual currency takes the place by the bit coin away.

How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?

The end of bitcoin for me would be a majority of the powerful countries decided that bitcoin is a threat and would choose to close its borders to it. Once it hapoens a lot of panic would ensue and then slowly but surely it would collapse bitcoin

In these case, a lot of people will surely be furious about this decision. There is no really big reason or a big proof about this because apparently, a lot of people are supporting this currency, the government will never make a decision like that hastily, there will be a lot of process.

I think with bitcoin now at hand, the problem that can end or kill bitcoin is with a problem with the software. In the recent weeks, bitcoin was said that it has a bug, what if some people plots to end bitcoin by putting some malwares in the network, exploiting ones private key and it's balance. That will be really the worst time to happen.

Too many possibilities;
1. World War; that war can be the death of bitcoin and other crypto currency, the traders will definitely decrease and the miners too. The demand will decrease so does the price of bitcoin.
2. Hacking; multiple hacking on trading sites at the same time can crush the crypto currency. They will have to seize the trading so the demand will also decrease.

They are a lot more, this is the only think of as of right now.

if the countries vote laws making illegal to use BTC as exchange in any shop.
TOday the price goes high because many countries enable it as an exchange currency (it is not only used on darknet for escrow)
But if tomorrow countries decide to control it , they will FIRST forbid to buy things with it.

....and if you cannot exchange it legally ,...it turns back to the darknet time ...when the price was a lot lower.

The idea behind Bitcoin (blockchain technology) will never die. On the contrary, it will only expand. It is extremely unlikely for Bitcoin to die as everyone opposing it has a love / hate relationship with it, so it's in everyone's best interest to fight it on the surface but support it in the shadows.

I can not predict. Bitcoin is growing. It is growing quite high and is widely accepted so we can not say that bitcoin will die. I think it will grow bigger and bigger than before. In the future its value may decrease but it will forever exist

No internet. There is no bitcoin without internet. Bitcoin is dead. Or, Bitcoin is forbidden in all countries in the world. Bitcoin can not be circulated Then Bitcoin will die. But do not worry, these things will not happen. Smiley

I think bitcoin will only die if it's banned in every country. If it's banned, obviously people will not be using bitcoin anymore because it's already worthless. Also, if bitcoin will not survive there's always new. Innovation will arise and the new crypto will gonna be more a lot better than bitcoin because it is enriched and enhanced.

I think Bitcoin will die if every country decides to ban Bitcoin forever. Then, there will be no more people using Bitcoin because they may be caught in this situation. And bitcoin can also die if there is a new crypto that is better, more developed and can improve.
